  1. Have you both meet each others families and did the formal introduction Did you have a traditional ceremony yet? Pay the brides price?

You have to realize although in UK and its about the easiest embassy on earth you are a Nigerian and will still get the scrutiny. Visits mean everything in this process especially for Nigerians (and many other high fraud countries).

The passport omission is a big deal. As you know many a Nigerian have fake papers and passports. That's why they wanted to verify it.

So what's your next move? Get married? Cuz more likely your petition will be sent back and will have expired leaving you to either file again (strongly advise no) or get married and file a I-130. It's about a 1 year process.

I agree, looking back now we made couple of mistakes, yes we have met each others family. no traditional ceremony, maybe i was just being naive/stupid to have made such a mistake and not take copies of my old passport. but you can not have a fake passport here though, that can only happen in Nigeria lol.. i don't know the next move, why do you advice not filing again? this is soooooo tiring. I'm just fed up right now but can't give up.

  2. I don't think the old passport is the problem and 6 years age difference is not a problem either!

How many times he visited you? And for how long?

What documents has the original petition I129F

only one visit,we haven't got a lot of money so we figured we save money up for our future plans, especially as we got a quick approval other than spend it on trips. maybe that was also a red flag. in our petition we had several pics, burden passes, hotel tickets, numerous pics, daily communications

  3. You need to give us details if you want useable advice.

For example, "additional proof of identity" is very very rarely asked for. Did you not have a passport, is there something odd about your history (late registration of birth etc)?

What proof of relationship did you submit at interview, and what additional proof did you submit later?

I have a new passport,i guess he wanted to see the old one as well. Nothing in my history. I had pictures of us, daily chats... but he did not ask to see them

  4. I remember a case from several years ago where the person PMed me his story. He was a citizen of another country, not the UK. He had changed his name to British sounding name but had no legal deed poll or good reason why. He had overstayed in the US 10 years, and somehow got back in and overstayed another 18 months. His son was petitioning him, but the son had no proof of his address...gave one but had no id because he really lived in two other states. Well the embassy gave him a hard time, but when the real story came out there was so-o-o many things wrong with the picture. Meanwhile he only posted in the UK forum that the embassy gave him a hard time and wanted more documentation.

If the situation is complicated and London didn't cheerfully grant a visa in three minutes, then there are serious red flags. They are actually quite good at their jobs and can sense when something doesn't add up.

I just figured the only mistake i made was not taking my old passport which i did not think of, other than that everything was fine, it was not a very long interview.

  5. He is Nigerian also, and yes there's six years difference between us, I am older. the other questions CO asked were has either of us been ever engaged/married/or have kids? which is all NO. and he issued the 221g requesting the additional documents which I sent. It's really exhausting to say the least. 11 months of our lives wasted.

  6. I hold a foreign passport,Nigerian to be precise. I have a new passport, CO requested to see the old one(I didn't have it with me) which i sent him copies of and additional proof of our relationship, guess he wanted our updated chats etc. I had those with me on day of interview but he refused to look at them. we got engaged 3 months after we met. the only question he asked about our relationship was how did we meet? and my fiance's name. I strongly believe he was suspicious of our relationship or perhaps because of our nationality(Nigerians) or maybe I'm wrong.

  7. No I've had my interview already and was issued a 221g requesting to submit additional documents which i sent in. my passport was returned with a letter saying our file has been sent back to NVC

What additional documents were requested, and what did you send? Are you sure they received what you sent?

Additional proof of identity and additional proof of relationship. which i submitted. yes they received them.

  8. Hi there, so I had my interview two and a half weeks ago,was given a 221g requesting additional documents which i submitted over a week ago, and today Dx courier contacted me they have my documents ready for delivery but on ceac website I am still on Administrative Processing. can someone please explain to me what could be wrong? my wedding is supposed to be in 3 weeks time, I am loosing my mind,I am totally confused and depressed.

  9. Had interview last week, it was not "approved" because one of the document is missing. They asked to send the missing document along with the passport by courier which I did on Monday, the status changed from "AP" to "ready" since Tuesday, however, it stays ready since tuesday, they did something yesterday but is still showing "ready" with below. I am worried that they forget us again....

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

For the interview that is approved, it goes to AP immediately and the Visa normally will be issued within the next two day, mine has been two days and its not even going to AP for processing.... Anyone had experience that they need to send document after the interview and how long did it take for them to issue the visa?

can you please tell me how you submitted the missing documents? Thanks
