  1. Hi, my wife and I did out adjustment of status interview back in November of last year. We were approved on our I-130 a few weeks later and a RFE was made for me to provide a certificate of disposition regarding me being arrested a few years prior to this for a misdemeanor. I provided this request but since then our case is still pending approval. I made an appointment at my local office a few weeks ago and an officer told me that they were doing a background check and that the backlog for this can be long. I have no updates on my case and I am hoping that this is normal waiting time. Does anybody have any experience with this?

    Many thanks!

  2. Hi, my wife and I did our marriage based greencard interview back in November of 2014 and we received an approval on our I-130 on December 29th 2014. We also received a request for further evidence which was for one document I had forgotten to bring along to our interview. This document was received by USCIS in late January and I am still waiting on an approval of our I-485. I have contacted USCIS and request a service update. I received the following notice last week...

The status of this service request is:

Based on your inquiry, we have reviewed the status of your case and found it remains under active examination. This office acknowledges the completion of your case as being outside normal processing times and realizes the inconvenience it may cause. The delay has been necessary in order to ensure the thorough processing of your case and provide you with the best possible service. USCIS will notify you as soon as possible if any further information is needed from you or when a decision is made.

I spoke with a USCIS representative this morning who could not provide any updates and told me just to keep waiting. He did however comment that he had never seen such a big delay between a I-130 approval and issuing a temporary green card. I am pretty confused as to what is causing such a long delay and was wondering if anybody has had any similar delays with their green card being issued? Thanks!!

  3. Hi, my wife (the beneficiary) and I have our marriage based adjustment of status interview coming up very soon. I am tying to prepare as many joint documents that show that we live together. Unfortunately i am not on the lease as I did not have sufficient credit history and my wife had to sign along with a co-signer. So far the documents I have to bring to interview are Joint bank account statements, Joint Tax returns, Gas bill and some other mail with our names on it.
Along with photographs, do you think this is enough supporting documentation to back up our case?

    Thanks!!
