  1. I filed for an ITIN number for my K-2 children due to misunderstanding the SSN requirements for a child. I received them for both my sons, but the IRS wanted the original passports for the process. Now they have "misplaced" my daughter's Philippines passport and didn't issue her an ITIN either. They have had the passport since April and still no resolution after 3 calls. Worried about her AOS now because of this!

Has this happened to anyone else, and how was it resolved?

  2. I submitted the forms for the Work Authorization and Adjustment of Status after getting married. The Work Authorization was approved and card already issued. The AOS has been delayed 6 months. While applying for her SS Card with our married last name realized the Work Authorization Card and AOS application only have her last name, NOT the married last name, mistake on my part.

What can we do to correct this issue; refile the forms, or call?

  3. My petition for my Fiance was approved and now is in Manila waiting to complete the process. While collecting the paperwork for the children to get their passports and medicals completed she discovered the youngest child's Last name on his official birth certificate doesn't match the Petition paperwork.

What can be done in this situation? She discovered the same issue on his immunization paperwork!

Getting worried! The paperwork made it to Manila end of November, not a lot of time to fix the problem.

  4. I am working through the process for my Filipino Fiance to be with me. The Petition was approved 10/31/14 and is being sent to the National Visa Center. I understand the process up through her getting her Visa after the Interview in Manila. I am assuming each child plus her will need the medical exam and their own passport with the required fees for the medical.

My question is the petition includes 3 of her children. I am wondering if they are required to have their AOS filed with my Fiances during the 90 days from arrival, or do they wait until hers is approved. Trying to get a better understanding of the timeline so I can ensure the forms are submitted on time and the cash is available for the required fees when needed.
