Congrats!! We received our electronic notification on Monday and the confirmation letter on Tuesday.

Interview is scheduled for May 08.

Looking at the current Visa processing times for USC spouses (14 months) I am wondering if it would be better to apply for my wife's Green Card from the States (she has a tourist visa).

I've read this is frowned upon (Fraud), but what are the consequences?

I have not seen much about that. In fact, I have heard that people end up getting their green cards via this method, but it ends up being more costly and you have to do extra stuff like 'Adjustment of Status'. Applying for work permission etc.

In our situation, it seems like it would allow us to establish ourselves in the US quicker, but I am not clear about what the dangers involved are. I'd prefer not to do it this way, but I was told 8 months, not 14. As usual maybe I am misunderstanding something.

It would be great if someone who has gone this route (or is in a position to provide some insight) could share their experiences/advice. (And please don't just answer by saying its fraud, what are the consequences?)

Just got a text this morning saying they are mailing my card.. I hope it gets here soon. It has taken them over a week just to produce and mail it!((((

Does getting an RFE on your I-485 affect your EAD/AP? I called up USCIS today and spoke to tier 2 and she said that USCIS might have restarted the 90 day clock on my EAD coz of the I485 RFE... not sure if she's just misinformed.

I got a RFE for my I'485 and didn't affect my EAD/AP I have my card and soon my ssn, hope your case move forward and able to work.

Question for everyone that keeps talking about going and getting the SSN my husband (fiancé at the time) and I followed VJ's K1 visa steps and he already has his SSN, we used his visa and his I-94 to get it, now I know that we have to go back there and fix his name because there was a mix up in his I-94 and his visa and passport didn't distinguish between his first and middle name but is this not the order that we were supposed to go ahead and do this? or am I interpreting this wrong?

Sorry I can't help my case is quite different I had have a social security number since I was a kid not valid to work though (as a mexican I had benefits from SS because of my dad who was a resident), so I made all my paperwork with my maiden name since my ssn has that,I haven't change it to may husband last name I plan to do that after my green card Is on my hands

My EAD/AP was approved today.

Congratulations! !!!! Now go to SSA and get that number ( after you received it )

Quick question here: My I-485 wasn't transferred to a local office, and I got the following update:

"On November 19, 2014, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC1590xxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by January 18, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed."

Does this mean I will get an interview-waiver? I heard that interview-waived cases take longer than expected...anyone here in a similar boat?

My I-485 say the same, only minen say by Jan 10th and I haven't received any letter for interview and I already did my fingerprints.. so. I have no clue what's next... at least I am not the only one in the same situation

I Got my EAC combo!! I received it on the 24th my beautiful christmas present ♡ Now I have to wait for my interview I will update my signature ones I get to my computer, trying to do it on my phone and keeps kicking me out :S.

That's great to hear! I saw that your EAD was approved on Dec 17th but you only got notified yesterday? Was there a delay in MSC/NBC updating the online system?

I got an update stating that my EAD was approved and that they will sent it to production this on the 17 and on the 22nd I received a text and an update on my account saying that my card was on the mail.

Great to hear! I was worried since I did get an RFE on my I-485 (bit not on my I-765) - not sure if an RFE on the I-485 would affect the I-765?

The RFE was for my Affidavit of Support.

I got a RFE for my Affidavit too and apparently didn't affect my I-765, yesterday I got an update, my card is already on its way .

I went today to SSA and applied for a ssn . Now i have to wait again for a ssn card

Do they told you how many days or weeks for your ssn card to be ready?

Well it took a little longer to get update but my AP got granted too!!!! Amazing ☆♡☆♡

So there is more people as well is not only me that had my biometrics done in early november and since then DID NOT GOT ANY ''READY TO BE SCHEDULE FOR INTERVIEW'' or ''CARD PRODUCTION'' in case online status?

I sent the USCIS a thing about not receiveing EAD card and it said to me ''You recently contacted us regarding the non-delivery of your Employment Authorization Document. At this time your I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, is still pending.''

I got my bio on Nov 3rd. Today my I-765 change to Card Production, no updates on my I-485 though

My I-485 still in RFE received. but ones I'm able to work they can take as much time as they want on my 485 as long as they granted my green card
