Thanks for all the info.
I finally got through after many redials. The recording says only to call them if it's been 35 days since the NOA2. Since it's only been about 20 days for me I will wait and call again later. Plus someone said they have been closed due to weather so I don't mind giving them more time.
We used the California USCIS and our package was approved in just a few short works (including an RFE) so I feel I am already doing fine. My fiancee in Thailand can't come until June anyway because she teaches at a university and the classes don't end until late May. We have plenty of time.

It's been over 2 weeks since receiving our NOA2, and so I'm trying to contact NVC to see what the status is (of sending package to Bangkok embassy).
I used their website to send an email/message to them - no reply (it's been 4 days).
I've been trying to call them (for 4 days) and all I get is a message saying "Due to high call volume, NVC is too busy. Please call back later".
Seriously!??
Anyone else having trouble contacting NVC? Is this normal?
THanks

Right. I did not file because I did not have to. Therefore, I have no tax returns for the past 8 years. I will however have a tax return for 2014, but only have about $19k income since I did not start my $53k/year job until September.
Also, one poster above states that the Bangkok embassy does NOT accept co-sponsors. Is this true? If this is true, then it means I obviously don't need to worry about asking a parent to co-sponsor.
It seems there are many different opinions so far on this. Still not sure if I need a co-sponsor and if I do, but the Bangkok embassy doesn't accept them, then what? Is there no clear-cut way to determine if I need a co-sponsor?
Thanks

The reason I did not file taxes while living in Thailand was that my income did not reach the $10,000 threshold so I was not required to file.
By the time she does her interview, I will be working at my $53k/year job for 7 months, I have about $25,000 savings and no debt.
I also have another part time job that makes about $3,000 /year.
Should I not bother with a co-sponsor and just hope for the best? Get one anyway?
Thanks

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ask a parent for help with a co-sponsorship? I have already submitted the I-129 and it's currently in processing.
I have a good job, but have only been at it for 4 months because of just moving back from Thailand. I lived in Thailand for 8 years and did not file US taxes while there. I already hinted to my father that I might need some help and he said he probably would, but I'm not sure what to tell them would be their responsibility if something went wrong. I'm making $53k/year, but started in September.
Also, is there a FAQ or anything to help guide putting together the sponsorship/co sponsorship paperwork?
Thanks

Yes. I hope someone can give me advice on if I need a co-sponsor or not.

Hello,
Starting my I-129 paperwork for my GF in Thailand.
I lived in Thailand from '05 to '13. While there, I did not file US tax returns because I never made more than $10,000. I returned to US in May '13 but did not get full-time work until September '14 (I was lucky to have a healthy bank account). I now have a job making $50,000/year, but have only been working for 3 months. I have $15,000 in the bank, $12,000 in stocks and $50,000 in life insurance and no real debt.
I'm thinking because of no tax returns and only a short period at my new job that I will need a co-sponsor? My father has agreed to do it if necessary.
So:
1. Do I need a co-sponsor?
2. If so, how to go about doing it?
Much thanks!

My Thai GF worked in the US for 1.5 years (about 4 years ago) and had a SS# assigned to her then. I'm assuming it was a temp SS#. However, the I-129 form asks for SS# (if any) for her. Since it the number was a temp #, should I still put it on the form (even if it is probably expired)?
I know it's usually better to put info than to not, but I don't want to confuse the paperwork. I'm 99% sure to put it, but a little hesitant.
Thanks!
Trying in vain to contact NVC!!

What are most of you calling NVC for? Just to see if they have sent your package to the embassy? Their recording says not to bother them with questions about it until 35 days past your NOA2. Are most you past the 35 days and no response? THey are supposed to mail a letter out once they send the package on its way right?
