  1. Feeling annoyed. ..Still no NOA1, sent Nov.17th. Check cashed a week ago :/

    Hi, it could be that they haven't sent you an email but the mail could be on its way. I never got an email but when I checked my case status my I130 was approved. Also, a few people have had it this way...no email but the NOA1 hard copy in the mail a few days later! I have a strong feeling your NOA1 should come up in the mail end of this week or next week.

  2. NOA1 is what you just received. This is acceptance. Depending which service center you go to depends on the amount of time you wait for your NOA2 , approval. You Can check out the immigration timelines to see what date they are working on in Texas and how long your wait may be.

    Good luck!!!! :thumbs:

    Yay!!!!! Congratulations :dancing::dancing::dancing:

    Super happy for you :)

    Congrats Vrao!!!! :dancing::jest:

    Thanks Kels! I gotta work on the next step now...hopefully its not a lot of paperwork! What kind of timeline are you looking at after your NOA2?

  3. So which one would be better accepted or approved? Or faster I should say. Which one is faster to speed the process?

    Step 1 - Petition gets accepted (NOA1)

    Step 2 - Petition gets approved (NOA2)

    Step 2 can't happen before Step 1. So, no, one is not better than the other. If you get your NOA1 in 7-10 days and NOA2 in 21-35 days you are on track for a speedy process. The chances for these timelines are higher if your petition gets routed to the California Service Center. You will know where the petition's been routed in your NOA1. At least, that's my understanding from these forums. Good luck!

  4. wow that would be awesome ! where did you read that?

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/

    This thread has like 42 pages in it and it was created in 2012. A majority of the people who filed the I130 petition abroad (not DCF) got their case auto expedited at the California Service Center and got an NOA2 in like 7-21 days. This is not an official policy but a trend and I hope it applies to us as well!

  5. CONGRATS!!!!! California is supposed to be the fastest center. Excited for you!

    It usually takes 7-10 days to get online. I got lucky when I checked but keep a lookout or call USCIS after 7 days.

    Thanks! Yeah I've read on the forum that California auto expedites petitions from citizens living abroad. It would be nice to have the NOA2 in a couple weeks! I might start working this weekend on the paperwork needed after NOA2. Good luck to y'all!

  6. The Chicago lock box received my petition for my wife today, the 4th of Nov 2014. I currently live in Canada with my wife (Indian citizen) and I am not sure how being in a third country would impact the process but, one step at a time. I'll wait for my NOA for now.

    Also, my first packet was received on the 31st of October, 2014 and I forgot to include a check in there. I immediately sent another complete packet without waiting for an RFE. Hope it works out!

  7. Thanks! My I130 packet includes a cover letter, I130 form, fee check, my passport copy, my naturalization certificate copy, my canadian work permit copy, my wife's passport, my wife's canadian temporary resident permit copy, marriage certificate, a letter from my employer stating the temporary assignment in Canada, G325a for me and my wife, passport photos and all other bonafide marriage evidence.

    Am I missing anything? Do I need the I864 or any other US domicile evidence?

    Oh and my wife's birth certificate too!

  8. Hey guys,

    I am a US citizen working in Canada on a temporary assignment and will be back in the states in 2016. My wife is an Indian citizen and she currently lives with me in Canada with a temporary resident permit. I am filing my I130 this week to the Chicago lockbox. Would there be any issues with a third country national (my Indian wife living in Canada) and my I130?

    Thanks,

    Rao
