  1. Thanks!

I made a very organized petition which dividers and a table of contents, cover sheet, etc.

I didn't include the DS-3025 at all , just a cover letter in it's place stating that the exam was carried out already recently and that we did not have access to it.

Do you think they will give us problems? Everything else was included with a wealth of evidence/documents.

  2. Dear Friends,

We went through the K1 visa process (spouse entered the USA, we got married, etc.) We also filed for the Adjustment of Status (Green Card) I-485 form.

I did not include the medical form (I-693) because less than 3 months ago, my spouse spent hundreds of dollars in his home country and had vaccines and exams and that form was completed by the local American-approved civil surgeon and was forwarded in a sealed envelope to the local US Consulate, which I am under the impression was eventually ether forwarded to USCIS or included in the sealed envelope upon point of entry in the US.

Now I am worried that after having sent our Adjustment of Status, we are going to get an RFE and have to spend a few more hundred dollars to do the exact same medical evaluation that we did less than 3 months ago.

Can anyone shed some light if this is something we should be worried about?

    Thank you!

  3. Hi,

We just got a letter from NVC saying that our K1 is being forwarded from NVC to "US Embassy or Consulate in Unknown" and then at the bottom of the page it says:

    Interview Location: UNKNOWN

    US EMBASSY

    BEIRUT, LEBANON

What the heck????!!!!!!! We are in Jerusalem. Israelis don't/can't travel to Lebanon.

Is this just a mistake? Trying to call NVC but the androgynous voice keeps talking about "large volume of calls"

This is quite scary news. I hope that it's nothing to get worked up about. Any insight? If NVC is as much of a ridiculous institution as USCIS I wouldn't put it past them sending our petition to Timbuktu!

PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY INSIGHT

  4. Yesteday I read alarming and worrysome news from The New York Times - The headline reads:

"State Dept Suspends Overseas Passport, Visa Issuance"

As you may have read in the recent weeks, or have been notified as a federal employee like myself, many federal computer information systems have been affected by a malicious hacking. The information itself is alarming, but even more so after knowing that it might also possibly affect my fiancee's K1 issuance which should take place in the next few weeks (our case was just overnighted to the Jerusalem consulate from National Visa Center)!

While the article doesn't specify whether the recent hack/shutdown will have an effect on all types of visa, and fails to give us any real information, it does hint that the "glitch" could delay visa processing for any applicants having applied after June 9th. That could mean so many things.

I would hate to freak people out over this matter, and we shouldn't jump to conclusions, but I do believe it is a relevant discussion. I think we would all appreciate it if there is anyone around who can offer some comforting insight!

Link to yesterday's article can be found in the following link: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/06/13/us/ap-us-travel-united-states-passports.html?_r=0

    Many thanks!

  5. Hi Friend,

My fiance and I were just approved (NOA2) about 3 weeks ago. It was also at the Texas Service Center and we underwent a traumatic wait that was nearly 7 months. Now we see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is no reason to worry. As long as your relationship is legitimate, you should be approved quite soon, and hopefully TSC is working even faster now...The sexual orientation things is a non-issue and we are very lucky for that.

The only negative experience we had, besides the extreme amount of incompetence among the USCIS employees was one Immigration Officer Supervisor who told us that as a same sex couple we are not eligible for the visa, which is NOT true, and we called her out about it, and then she screamed at me and hung up. It was really terrible, but don't let the people you speak to on the phone get you worried. Just keep checking visa journey and make sure it's not taking so long.

I promise it will all be worth it in the end.

  6. We received our NOA1 on 1 November 2014 and we're still waiting (yay for the Texas Service Center!)

We both have lived together in the the foreign country until now (my parents' Texas address has been being used - this is probably why we were assigned to the Texas SS, whoops I meant Texas SC!).

I, the petitioner have to start a new job in the US in the next 2 weeks and am moving to California to start planting the seeds for our new life over there, while my fiancee is going to have to wait alone in our apartment for another 2 or 3 months, at least which is gong to double our living expenses. (according to what the statistics are telling us).

My question: as I am moving to California, can our I-129F petition for the K1 be transferred over the Cali SS? If so, do you recommend doing so?

    Best,
