  1. Once you get your appointment rescheduled, you can use the printout of the schedule as a proof of appointment to take to the medical center. For the vaccinations, you can get started at any point.

Rescheduling is not too complicated. I would not recommend hitting the refresh button many times because your account will get locked out. I would have each of you check at least twice a day (more likely to occur in Vietnam daytime).

  2. After you schedule your interview, I would advice you and your fiancee to check the website at least 2-3 times a day. I think if you check too often the website maximizes the amount of times you use and locks your account for 1 day.

There is a button called "Reschedule" where you hit that and see if there are any earlier dates. It took us about 1-2 weeks to reschedule our appointment. It seems that they release earlier dates as there are cancellations.

I hope this helps you Hanh.

  3. Hi,

My fiancee passed her interview on November 20th, and the Consulate Officer said to expect the passport back with a Visa in 2 weeks time. When we went to the following website, we got a message with the following:

    https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV

Application ID or Case Number: HCMXXXX HCM Case Creation Date: 24-Nov-2014 Status Updated Date: 24-Nov-2014

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

Does anyone have an idea what this means or how many days of administrative processing takes place? What is the normal wait time for a passport back from US Consulate Office in HCMC?

    Thanks,

    Vijay

  4. Hi There,

I am having some trouble making the appointment. When I try to make an appointment, I get the following message:

    Schedule Consular Appointment

Applicants for U.S. visas are required to appear in person for a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate. Please schedule an appointment for an interview.

You have exceeded the limit for viewing this page and your limit will be reset as of tomorrow.

  5. Hi My-Troung,

Diem called me this morning and told me she ran into a lot of trouble turning her DS-160, 2 photos, and copy of passport in the post office. The lady at the post office asked what she was sending, and Diem explained it was for K-1 Visa application. The lady said that all Diem needs to do is schedule an appointment and do health check up later.
This seems quite contradictory to the instructions the packet. Finally after visiting 3 post offices, the 3rd one didn't ask any questions and let her send the forms.
Did you guys run into any trouble submitting the DS-160, 2 photos, and copy of passport in the Post Office?
  6. My-Truong.. Thanks so much.. After creating account, we selected 'Non Immigrant Visa', LOL! no K1 option, so selected- Immigrant Visa, radio button option, and voila, able to continue. ( K1 is gray area, I thought was classified as Non Immigrant, (with intent to migrate)). Will keep you guys posted on Interview dates soon.

  7. Hello, We have been benefitted immensly by info provided generously by the confributors who have contributed info in this forum and thank you all so much. My Fiancee received Informtion Packet on 10/24, and will be filling out DSP160 form Online soon. Next step, after paying the visa fee, for scheduling the interview, does she have to do it online or call the embassy number? What are the currrent available dates, that show in online for K1 interviews? - Thanks,
