  1. The checklist we got on the 10th was for some issues with the AOS forms and docs, which I described here back then, as soon as those got sorted out, our case file was found again (it was a long story...). and we, in the meantime, resubmitted whatever it was they had requested (they scanned those on the 22nd), the supervisor reviewed our case, she finally gave us the much-longed-for CC :)

  2. OK, I'm so sorry for not having checked in here in a while, but our case seemed to have gotten out of hand for a while at NVC. At some point our file even seemed to have been lost all together. But long story short after several weeks and hours spent on the phone with NVC, after weeks of complete and utter despare our CASE IS FINALLY COMPLETE!!!!! at NVC!!! Now on to awaiting the appointment at the US Embassy in Budapest. Thank you all fellow VJers!!!! Congrats to those who also got their CCs!!!!! So happy for everyone of you!!! :) Everybody still waiting for their cases to get completed, best of luck to you all and never ever give up hope that it will finally end and be done with, and your families will finally be reunited!!!! :D

  3. Okay, so this might get a little long in the end, but I just want to put this out there, so people with similar issues can get some encouragement from it. So... after having seen that so many people were getting their CCs with scan dates right around ours (10/20), hoping for some update, my husband called NVC today. The first rep (yes, there are more coming...) told him that our case was reviewed yesterday (12/10) and they found some issues with his and his dad's (his joint sponsor) AOS forms, the usual total income vs adjusted gross income line... They have both double-checked their forms and they both had it right, didn't mess it up. So, my hubby calls back to sort this out, right? This second rep tells him that the issue is not even that, according to her my hubby should have put his total for 2012, 2011, and 2010, instead of 2013, 2012, and 2011, as he did it. (Side note: he wasn't required to file taxes for 2013 with IRS as he didn't make enough to even file. This is, of course, all neatly explained and documented in the AOS package, as it should be.) After this second call we both get desperate and start researching about it again, and my husband makes his third (and, at least for the time being, last) call to NVC. This time he gets put through to a nice supervisor (called Sue, I believe) who after having listened to all this story, promised to pull our case for supervisor review, she has also asked my husband to call back on Monday and ask to talk to her. So please, keep your fingers crossed that she finds that everything is OK with our case, and that we can finally get a CC from her. Congrats to all of you with CCs, you well deserved it!!! And good luck everyone!!!! Have a safe and successful journey, dear fellow VJers!!!! :D oh, and the moral of this whole story: you might wanna take the info you get from reps over the phone regarding your case with a grain of salt. It won't hurt anyone at NVC, but it might save you from a lot of frustration and despare over something that might not even be a real issue. ;) Just keep asking and hang in there!!! :)
