  1. Your employment or lack thereof, has no bearing on your immigration status. The one that needs to be employed and/or have income up until your AOS is approved is your petitioner or joint sponsor.

    Your reply got me more questions. With a job loss, the employer is completely out of the picture, so how does it matter?

    Do the immigration officers verify employer details or ask questions based on that at port of entry?

  2. I have an approved EAD and AP valid till April 2015. I am currently out of a job and searching for the next one.

    My question: I need to travel abroad for a personal trip. I was hoping to use the AP that I have for re-entry purposes. If i am not able to find a job before my trip, would that pose any challenge to my re-entry? Are there any such risks for traveling on AP when unemployed?
