I just hope it doesn't take long for them to review the doc as well. Do you know if it'll take the same amount of time?

Hi Everyone,
We have a scan date of Sept. 8th, and got a checklist today that looks like this:
______10 - FRANCE POLICE CERTIFICATE:______________________________France: Extraits de Casier Judiciaire may be obtained by any person, regardless ofnationality, who has resided in France at any time, provided such residence occurred after theage of 15 years. Persons born in France may obtain the certificates from the Greffe duTribunal de Grande Instance at their place of birth. Persons born outside of France may obtainthem from the Ministere de la Justice, Casier Judiciaire National, 107, rue du Landreau 44079Nantes Cedex 1.The applicant should furnish his/her full name, and any other names (including maiden), bywhich known, date and place of birth, father's full name, mother's maiden and married names, and place of residence. Is it true that we will have to wait 60 days after we submit his police certificate for it to be reviewed!?? We got our packages reviewed in less than a month, and this checklist is for something extra since my husband lived in France for 11 months, not the one year that the NVC requires one to live abroad in order to provide a police certificate.
Has anyone experienced something like this? that was not their mistake but the NVC just decided they wanted to see it? and how long did it take for everything to get back on track?
-
I received a checklist today, but it's for a French police report (since my spouse lived in france for 11 months). Will they seriously make us wait 60 days? The first review only took 24 days.

Scan date: Sept. 8. Just got a checklist today but for something that wasn't included at all. My husband spent 11 months in France (where we met) so they want a background check. I thought they wouldn't have requested one since he wasn't there over a year, but oh well!
Does this at least mean that everything else was perfect and once we submit it the case will be complete???
-
I honestly think they just want to get rid of us and say whatever they want. Do they really have nothing to account for???
-
Well, I called the NVC shortly after this and the operator told me it was a myth and that nothing gets reset...
-
Yup. Did all of that. I hope they accept it since I know it's up to the discretion of the officer and sometimes they say no even if you're well above the poverty guideline but you're young and haven't been working long.
-
Was it really under the poverty guideline?? Or was it just the officer's thought that it wouldn't be enough for the both of you?

Good thing I just chose it yesterday, so it's not a big deal...however, everyone should be aware of this.
I found this good explanation online:
"You log in to NVC website, and click on their link to file "DS-261" choice of agent. After you submit online, it will show "COMPLETE". You also pay your AOS fee by clicking the "Pay Now" link. A day or two later, you get an email saying AOS fee is now PAID. Ok, good. But you haven't received the IV fee bill yet, so the IV Application link is shown "N/A", can't pass Step 3, have to wait.
So you wait a couple weeks and you log in again to see the status of the case. To your surprise, the "Choice of Agent" is now showing "INCOMPLETE". So you do it again. Sending the DS-261 again.
WRONG MOVE. The thing is, your IV fee bill is somehow "linked" to Choice of Agent. NVC will send you the IV bill after they process yourDS-261. By sending the DS-261, again, you would somehow "reset" the clock. Do not do this.
So you ask, "why it is showing INCOMPLETE then?" There are many guesses. The most probable guess is that people click on the COMPLETE link, being curious or ancious about waiting, and the link takes them to the Choice of Agent form again. If they log out or simply close the browser there, the website thinks you are trying to sign a new Choice of Agent form and hence show it as INCOMPLETE next time you log in.
So the lesson is: be very very very careful when you do your Choice of Agent DS-261 online. Double, triple check it before clicking on the SUBMIT button. And after that, FORBID anyone in your family to click on that link again"

Are you out there?! Anyone in a similar situation (or that was in a similar situation) and their application flew past the NVC stage no problem???
I have been employed by a prestigious and well-known employer since February, but before then I was traveling, and before 2014 I was in college (so no tax returns above like... $8,000).
I really need to hear from others that were in similar situations and overcame the NVC stage no problem! I am earning very well now, but it's only been since February...
Please speak out! Let me know how it went for ya'll...and with no co-sponsors!
-
But I already paid the AOS fee...and it says complete again. How will it reset the clock? and what will it reset?
-
Ok, I just resubmitted it and it says complete now.
-
I had submitted the choice of agent and now it says incomplete after I clicked on it... (even though it was accepted and said complete). I even paid for the AOS fee. Should I resubmit it? Or should I just wait...?
-
For me it took exactly five months.
-
Also, the AOS fee is $120 now. It seems to say $88 everywhere else.
-
Please don't encourage someone to do something that dangerous. If she would go into labor and something goes terribly wrong on the flight she could possibly die.
I shared my cousin's experience. I'm sure him and his wife are adults enough to make decisions for themselves rather than be encouraged by a random person online.
-
They received our case on 8/10 and I just received an email today with our case number. So...for me it was 9 days...it might be for you too.
-
Don't stress! My cousin flew literally two days before she was due and just hid her stomach under a big jacket..nobody said anything. This was just a few months ago.
-
Anyone that can update for the wait times now? NVC received my case August 10th and I don't have my case number yet...
-
UGH! Thank you for saying this. It's so hard to just wait and have NO idea what's going on.

Hello!
I'm wondering if I should send the original notice that was sent to me, or a copy of it along with my I-129f application?
-
Abdou73, I think that we might have a confusion.
I don't think the marriage certificate copies need to be certified at all. I was following guide2 instead of guide1.
Am I right?
On the visajourney.com I-130 instructions it states:
A copy of your marriage certificate (If not in English then again get a translation)
-
Yes, of course it is translated, but the certification of the copy of the translation is in French because it's Morocco. I'm talking about just the seal itself that I was worried about.
-
Thanks, Nil! I was especially worried that they wouldn't understand the French and ignore that it was certified at all.
September 2015 scan dates.

Oh man. How long did it take for it all to be sorted out?
