  1. I cancelled the transfer request to djibouti cuz i got a email saying that my husband has a interview in cairo then my husband was not able to get a visa to cairo so we ended up just transfering it to djibouti and it took 2 months for it to actually be transfered to djibouti. Now hes just waiting for a interview

If you don't mind to share when was your second update, today we had an update after our case said ready on aug 9.

  2. Inshallah soon it will be transferred, my husband has been in Djibouti for almost three months his case showed ready the 9 of August. But obviously it still takes time for physical files. I still feel it'll be a long process, October will mark 5 years of this exhausting process, I really can't wait for it to be over. Seems I got the short end of the stick, but alhamdulila ala kol Hal! I'm sure something great will come out of this inshallah.

  3. Guys my husband is going to Djibouti is there anything I need to know to tell him please help this dam process is dragging for the longest time? Does he need a secure clearance of some kind cuz someone was trying to rip him off for $500 usd and how can he avoid going into the hangers he has a address in Djibouti to arrive to

I will message you my husbands number, your husband can contact him through what's app. Or something but the guys there are pretty helpful with information. Alhamdulila

  4. My case number is YTC and my case was accepted to be transferred on May 28. I waited and waited and NVC kept telling me the same thing. That my case was going to be transferred even tho it was already in Cairo.

I got tired of their games so I contacted my congressman, and had my dad go see her in person. We explained everything to her, she called up the NVC and had it transferred that same week. Now, Alhamdulillah my case in Djibouti, and I have an appointment in Aug for my husband's interview.

Contact ur congressman and if ur able to go to their office, go. Wallah it helped me and I'm sure they will help u. InshaAllah everyone here gets appointments soon.

Alhamdulilah! Jazaki Allah khair for your honesty! I called my congressman and Monday the rep will give me a call and hopefully I can schedule an appt with her! Inshallah they will be able to help me. Again thank you so much for your honesty!
  5. you have to have 4,000 dollors with u to enter nd once u get in u can look for a hotel and from wat i heard it isnt so expensive itslike 10 dollors a day . food is cheap to nd ppl are nice. also easier u just wait till ur file is there nd then wait for an appointment thats ut unlike all the other places like cairo u need to send in ur documents before the interview for and make an acvount with they embassy website and not being able to get a visa sucks anyway good luck

I heard that too about the $4000

Did this occur after Djibouti last week sent an email to you confirming to transfer within 72 hours? And thank you very much for sharing
  7. I recieved a reply from Djibouti an email I sent out three weeks ago, response not really helpful. Seems automated three weeks waited for an automated response. Ala Allah!

Thank you for your email. It can take several weeks for a case file to be transferred to Djibouti once the National Visa Center receives your request. Transfers for cases previously transmitted to Sanaa or Cairo require both the electronic file and the physical file to be received in Djibouti before the case is considered to be received.

The Department of States Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our overseas passport and visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category. However, it is affecting the speed with which case files can be transferred from one embassy to another. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.

All cases received in Djibouti are reviewed within 7 business days, at which time you will be contacted and provided with information on further processing for your case. You do not need to take any action at this point.

Please do not call the consular section or schedule an appointment until you have been directed to do so by consular staff, as this will delay your case and those of other applicants.

We look forward to communicating with you further once your case arrives in Djibouti and has been reviewed.

    Best,

    Djibouti IV Unit

  8. Unfortunately, that has happened to almost all of us. But yesterday when I went with my husband, there was a consular at the window outside. I told her about my case, and that Cairo keeps responding to my emails saying they haven't received a request from the Embassy in Djibouti.

She then took my husband's information, his case number and said we'll contact you.

InshaAllah she sent a request and if anything, have your husband try to do the same. There's usually consular outside at the window from 12pm-1pm.

Alhamdulila thank you! She speak arabic or English? Thank you again.

The supervisor said the note is the list and just the guy told me there has been so much mismatch information about everything regarding the embassy. He said I assure you your case will be transferred.
