  1. I can't see your timeline, so that means nothing to me. When did you submit your stuff?

Sorry I forgot my password for the account I originally made and am logged into at home so this is my 'work account'- I made it ages ago in a hurry to post something and then its automatically logged in so I still use it!

(cant access personal emails to change the password either!)

    But quick timeline:

    NOA1- May 13th

    NOA2- September 11th

    NVC- Sept 23rd

London received on- Oct 3rd or something similar

    Medical- Oct 13th

    CEAC last updated- Oct 16th

Then yesterday so Oct 30th letter with interview date- 12th November

  2. I mailed them on Monday to ask if my notification of readiness and Ds160 had been received. They advise they reply within 5 working days. My medical was yesterday so hoping to hear back by Friday and get my interview date notification next week

That's what I had hoped for!

My medical was on 13th, CEAC updated on the 16th and then nothing.....

I'm finding this part the hardest as I just have no control at all and it's soooooo close! I had wanted to be over there for Thanskgiving or early December but it's not looking likely :(

  3. So you got a copy of the petition? And you got two separate mailings of instruction letters?

I received it and my fiancé is squeaky clean.

It attached the petition and states 'and any criminal background information if applicable' or something along those lines. Obviously for us it wasn't applicable.

We could see the stamp of the officer who approved us and his name etc!

I just received this new packet and not the 'old' packet three.

  4. Hi E&Z,

Sorry to hear you are in a similar predicament. What is your timeline like? When did you have the medical and when was your last point of contact with any official? Have you figured out a way to progress?

    Hi Boiler,

I'm guessing that means you think our case has been sent to the Centers for Disease Control? I'm just so confused as it isn't a communicable disease- it's equivalent to having a bad case of asthma it just effects a different part of your body. I'm hoping that once I see my consultant in a fortnight and I get a letter to say the medication has worked and my symptoms have gone I will be able to attach it to my case and the hold up will be no longer than a few weeks. If anyone could shed any more light on this i'd be eternally grateful.

    Thanks again,

    Harry

I had my medical on Monday 13th and then my CEAC status was updated Thursday 16th, presumably receipt of the medical results at the embassy.

As I said, I had assumed that everything was ok as they had sent the forms on and naively presumed that meant I had 'passed' so to speak but I'm definitely not out of any normal processing times so I suppose only time will tell.

I'm hoping we'll all be ok, maybe the embassy will get in contact with you or it could be brought up in the interview? If I was you I would bring a GP letter confirming your recovery to your interview, even if not explicitly requested, just in case.

  5. Harry.

I'm sorry that I cannot be more helpful or answer your questions. Your post here however has shed some light on my somewhat vaguely similar situation.

I have a very rare inherited condition, which although largely does not impact my daily life, sounds quite severe on paper and is something that very few Drs have ever heard of. It tends to cause panic/confusion when my GP or Dr first hears of it.

I also took a specialist letter to my medical appointment and, as predicted, the Dr wasn't happy. She never said that it may cause a delay or made any reference to a panel but she did say "I'm not sure what to do about this" and wrote a detailed passage on the form, asking me questions as she went. She did also say they would need to make a copy of the letter and send it along with my medical form.

Equally, she never made any reassurance that everything was ok or that I'd 'passed' so to speak. I did leave feeling a bit uneasy about the whole thing and as though it could cause an issue in the future.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but I just wanted you to know that I was equally frustrated by how little information you are given and how 'in the dark' you feel throughout this whole process.

I don't understand why they cant clearly explain the procedure to you- surely they know whether or not a condition is likely to cause delay and then to clearly explain what happens next as a result of this (while not providing any guarantees etc) would be easy enough.

  6. I was told my vacc records were complete and I didn't have a flu jab but the nurse informed me that it is all dependant on what season your AOS interview is. If it is between Oct-March then you will require one, if not then you'll be fine. If we marry in December/January then AOS is likely to be three monthsish from then so March or April. She said we can get it done in the states if need be when you know your interview date.

So up to you I guess. I suppose it wouldn't do any harm?

  7. Took them 3 working days to reply to my 'contact us' submission / query.

And then once an email dialogue was established, they were replying within half a day everytime.

Why are they taking so long to reply back to you guys? Seems very odd, because London could not have been more helpful, or indeed efficient, with me.

I have to say that *touch wood* this has been my experience too. I had a reply to my 'contact us' query and they confirmed that they had received my ds160 (despite me sending it before I had heard from the embassy) and were extremely accommodating, promising to fit an interview date round a business trip.

I haven't yet received an interview date though so may be speaking too soon!

  8. haha that would show how committed you are!!

Mine was a request that my interview date fitted around a business trip in early November.

They told me they couldn't issue a date before receiving my medical exam results but that they'd made a note of my travel dates and that they'd ensure my interview fitted around these dates. Far more pleasant and accommodating than I expected!

  9. I made a little list of people more or less in the same boat. Misery shared is misery halved, right? :)

sorry this is my 'work' account as I've forgotten my password and am logged in automatically at home!

Thank you for doing this! They only received our medical results yesterday though so i'm just being incredibly impatient! haha

I did make an online contact inquiry a couple of weeks back and they replied within a day or two and were extremely helpful, maybe this week has been uncharacteristically busy? (perhaps due to TSC/CSC transfer approvals like someone suggested)

  10. I'm sure it's on its way! I live just outside of London, and letters from the embassy took 3-6 working days to arrive. I'm pretty sure they're being delivered by horse and cart at that rate :P

I live just outside of London too and have already completed DS160, readiness etc and this packet 3.5 or whatever it is arrived very quickly (2/3 days) after the embassy received my case. How odd? maybe it is a new packet three and that's why I haven't got the old one? or maybe I was just very quick doing ds160 (as soon as I got my LND number from calling NVC) so they didn't feel the need to post a packet three?

Nothing is ever straightforward with this whole process! haha I've given up trying to guess whats going on....
