  1. Hi everyone!

I am very anxious about my upcoming visa interview on November 3.

    Specific concerns:

    1. I got denied of a visitor visa twice this year of which my fiancé would have sponsored. In the visitor visa application, he was referred to as "friend." We were not engaged that time yet but were already boyfriends. He wanted our first meeting to be in the US and check if we could get along and if things would progress to the next level. Because I was denied twice, he decided to come to the Philippines and meet me instead. He was anxious about flying since it would be his first time out of the continent. We met in March this year and in that same meeting he proposed. He stayed here for two weeks with me.

    2. We only met in person once this year. We met online in November 2013, became boyfriends in Dec 5, 2013. Met in person and got engaged in March 2014.

    3. Both of our families do not approve of our relationship. We both came from religious family where parents are in leadership roles.

Would these concerns affect the decision of granting me the K1 Visa?

Hope to hear from you guys...

    Kind regards,

    Henry

  2. I apologize for using this thread to post my concern.

I am applying for a K1 Visa. I now have my MNL case number. When I checked online, my application status is now 'Ready' and it was updated on Sep 30 2014. I called US Embassy Manila to ask what's the next step. The agent told me to wait for an ELIGIBILITY LETTER/NOTIFICATION from the US Embassy Manila. She said it will be sent to me through email and/or physical letter. It's been almost a month and I haven't received any notification yet. I asked the agent if I can proceed to scheduling for an interview appointment even without that notification and she answered that it will be at my discretion. She also stated that the US Embassy Manila has the right to cancel my appointment if I have scheduled it prior to receiving that Eligibility Notification. She explained that the Eligibility Notification is like a "Go Signal" that I can proceed to scheduling.

My questions: Has anyone scheduled an appointment for interview prior to receiving the eligibility notification from US Embassy Manila? Was it successful or were you asked to come back again? How does an Eligibility Notification look like? How long should I wait for that notification?

    Thank you all!
