Of course, I will not say which company is, for obvious reasons. The company is not a startup, is not a friend and it is a medium corporate. Its revenues are about $20mi/year. It's not much but more than sufficient for USCIS requirements. I'm not saying it's easy and I know I have big risks, big chances do be denied, but I also know people with less experience than I that were approved. Is it easy? Nops. Is it impossible? Nops.

It depends on which category you will fill out your application. I'm gonna apply for EB-3 Skilled Workers, what the requirements, according to USCIS website are:
- You must be able to demonstrate at least 2 years of job experience or training
- You must be performing work for which qualified workers are not available in the United States
I'm not crazy to apply for EB-1, EB-2 or any other EB-3 category such as Professional since I don't have a degree. I'm not just "optimistic", but I'm trying to be realistic. For THIS category, the requirements are: 2 years of training + non-qualified workers in the US. THIS is the category I fit. Only this category.

If DOL said there is no Americans to do the job and I can prove I can do that, there is no "reason" to be denied. The hardest part is to prove there isn't a qualified American/GC holder for that.

I agree that's hard to have the PERM approved, but once it's approved, the i140 is easier (compared to the PERM)... But thanks, I will update this post in few months..with good or bad news.

http://dolstats.com/ I've sent only CERTIFIED applications. Just paste the case number

Just a QUICK (less than 1minute) research, I found these ones:
https://lcr-pjr.doleta.gov/index.cfm?event=ehLCJRExternal.dspCert&doc_id=3&visa_class_id=6&id=939001
https://lcr-pjr.doleta.gov/index.cfm?event=ehLCJRExternal.dspCert&doc_id=3&visa_class_id=6&id=869388

I didn't look to the i140, just to the PERM.. I'm gonna send few of "non-extraordinary" jobs soon (all of them without degree), let me get home.
-
Guys,
Take a look on PERM statistics please... you will see PERM approved for waitresses, electricians, and many other non-extraordinary jobs.
-
Kurosawa,
I do understand the PERM process and the affirmation: "you will never get a PERM without a degree" is a lie. That was what I mean.
I'm gonna start my PERM process and I will update this post when I get the result.
Thank you,
-
I guess you have no idea what you are talking about.
How many PERMs APPROVED you want I send you for Web Developer position? You can go to PERM Stats website and see by yourself.
-
Kurosawa, that's helpful.. so... if immigration has no access to PERM, it won't affect my "future". I guess I will go ahead with PERM. I know there is a risk to be denied but it won't affect my future, so "I have nothing to lose". As I said I already have my CPT approved so that's not the problem.
In case the PERM be approved and I demonstrate intent to immigrate (I-140), chances to be denied are low once the PERM is approved, right?
Thank you

Yeah, I know there are a lot of good programmers in U.S, for sure, but this client already tried to hire someone in his area and he couldn't find anybody. Maybe Fort Worth (TX) area is not good enough for software development... (just thoughts)
-
Nathan&Emily, sure... I'm a web developer... there are MANY different ways you can label a web developer such as Web Developer, Software Developer, Front-end Developer, etc... My main focus today is React Native and Ionic 2, so I don't think it's easy enough to find another one that uses React Native and/or Ionic 2 or 1 with 2yrs of experience in Ionic, for example.

I will pay nothing, but it doesn't mean I will let my sponsor spend money for something that the chances are low...
-
Yes, attorneys will also say it's possible, just to take your money... I will think about it... thank you
-
Sebastian, this is exactly the problem... my future if I get denied...
-
belinda63, the "dilema" is to understand if I have the requirements. If I don't (if my chance to be denied is high) I can get issues if I try to apply to H1 or to renew my F1 in a future... makes sense?
F1H1I130, yes, I know that, I have my CPT approved and I can work, that's not the "problem".
-
Guys, I got your points. They all make sense... the answer is: yes, I'm eligible but it's hard to achieve. So...
If you were in my situation... you have a sponsor, you have the experience to the job, but you don't have a degree and you are in a F1 (non-immigrant) visa.. what would you do?
Thanks a lot, you are awesome.
-
-
Yep, I know, but I do have the sponsor. My concern is only about the degree
-
NuestraUnion,
I completely agree with what you said, but as I said...talking about immigration factors (not if the company will be interested, or how much they will spend, etc), a degree is NOT a requirement, right? In other words, yes, I'm eligible, right?
-
KurosawaSan, thank you for your reply.
As I understand, a degree is not a requirement for GC, right? I understand that the companies won't sponsor a guy without a degree, but in case I already have the company, for IMMIGRATION purposes, don't have a degree is a problem? There are many functions in the world that a degree isn't important.

Hello everybody,
I'm currently an international student under F1 visa and may I have an opportunity to be sponsored to a Green Card application. I'm going to my 2nd year at the College.
I have talked to few immigration lawyers but each of them says a different thing.
Do you guys know if:
1. Am I eligible to be sponsored to a Green Card application without a Degree? (under Skilled Workers category)
2. Am I eligible to be sponsored to a Green Card going directly from an F1 visa?
3. Is the GC process "easier" than the H1B process? (talking about immigration factors)
PS: I know I can't work for this company until I get my GC, that's not a problem for the process.
Thank you very much. -
uhm.. makes sense... Boiler, thank you so much, I hope I'll get this visa!!!

For those who posted here a couple years ago, I just would like to give an update: I got my GC approved last week.
If have any doubt, as I had, I can tell you: it's worth to go ahead and apply for AOS if you have a sponsor.
