HI,
My name is Maria and I came to the US with the K1 visa.
I’ve got my 2 years green card on May 2007.
I did all the process and now I have the green card for 10 year since May 2010 when I removed the conditions.
My Husband and I we are going through a difficult time. Now, he wants to separate me and ends the relationship.
Beside my sadness for this moment, I was wonder if someone can help me with the citizenship process
Will I still able to apply for the citizenship based on marriage?
Will I able to apply for the citizenship not based on marriage?
Does anybody know if he can do something to revoke my permanent resident?
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi,
I traveled overseas with an expired GC, my passport and the extension letter. No problem!
They only asked me a few questions and I could re entry.
Good luck!

Hi,
We just had the same situation. We filed our I751 on February to the VSC, we had the biometrics and everything. On July we received the blue letter saying the evidence we sent it wasn't enough.
I know how you feel!!!!!!
On August 14 we sent the more evidence responding to the RFE. I had to buy a box to fit all the documentation. We sent all the papers we already sent. Even though the letter stated to don’t re-send the documentation we already sent. My husband suspected that they lost the papers. Moreover we added more evidence thing we didn't sent at the first time such us:
• Copies of passports and green card
• Three sworn affidavits by U.S. citizens, both friends and family.
• Copy of tax statement for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
• A copy of lease agreements for years 2007, 2008 and 2009. Also, a letter from the leasing office stating we have lived jointly from 2007 to present.
• A copy of car insurances and letter from Insurance agent stating proof of insurance.
• A copy of car titles showing joint ownership.
• Copies of bank statements from joint checking account.
• Copies 401k listing each other as beneficiaries.
• Copy of anniversary card .
• Copies of scattered mail from 2006-2009 under our names, same address (not joint).
• Copies of call logs showing regular conversations.
• Pictures of us together with family and friends.
On August 14 I had to travel overseas for work with an expired green card and the Notice of action. I didn't have any problem to re-enter the country
On September 26 we received the approval letter without interview.
I hope this help

Hey everybody,
On Saturday we received the approval letter. I cannot believe it!!! After we received the RFE we sent a lot of more information. I had to send a box full of papers. A month later we received the wonderful notice that our petition has been approved.
I want to thank all the people here in the VJ to helping us. This is a great website. I don’t know what I would have done without all the information the help that this site provide. I didn’t have the same luck calling to the USCIS.
If anybody needs help or I can help anyhow please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Thanks again

My husband and I sent out our I751 February 29 of 2008 to the VSC and just now we receive this blue letter telling us that the documentation we sent was insufficient, the evidence is insufficient.
We sent a lot of proof. I am really desperate and I don’t know what to do. We learnt about the letter yesterday and I cannot stop crying. I cannot think the possibility to have to leave and leave my husband.
We started our life here not always easy economically speaking. We passed laid offs, bad financial moments we have to move to my in laws because we cannot afford living in a separate place. That’s why we don’t have a lot of stuff that they asked such loans, proprieties, etc.
We sent
Financial:
1. Joint tax return
2. Joint contract lease
3. Joint Auto insurance
4. My 401k where show that my husband is my beneficiary
5. Join Affidavit of support: of my husband best friend, one friend of my family who is living here, one of my sister and my brother in-law proving the relationship is bona fide.
6-Photos - family/daily not only photos of us we sent phone of family dinner, Christmas..etc.
We are thinking send
1- Joint utility bill (we never bother to do that, same utilities are under my name and some under my husband name) I will call tomorrow and request to have both names in the bills.
2- Title our cars in both names (again my car is under my name and my husband under his)
3- Joint utility bank accounts,
4- My husband 401k where show that I am the beneficiary.
5- More affidavits of support.
My worry is all these changes will show now. I don’t what to do.
I am so sad because I feel we have to prove we are no lying, we are not fake. I’d love to have the possibility to go to interview and show them that my marriage is TRUE. Did any of you receive the same letter? Any suggestions?
Thanks so much

Hi,
I am here asking again for your advice. I am in a really bad situation.
I have applied for I-751 Petition for removing condition on February,09.
I received the NOA I-797C and I did the biometrics.
On July 18 we received the blue letter telling us that the documentation we sent was insufficient, the evidence is insufficient. And we have to the new evidence on or about August 23. We are planning to send back this week.
My boss just told me I have to travel overseas from August 14 to the 24.
I am terrified if something comes up wrong with my green card if they denied my second evidence
I am worry to leave the country because I don’t know if they‘ll let me enter again even though I have the NOA I-797C that say my residency have been extended for one year allowing me to travel and work for one year.
Any suggestions? What should I do? Should I wait to send my paperwork right before I have to travel, so I may not have an answer after I come back?
Thanks do much
P.S. I try to include my timeline in this email but i am not sure how to do it.
Hi,
If someone is in my same position, I just want to let you know I sent my RFE and I traveled overseas with the I-797C.
I didn't have any problem to re-enter to the country. They asked me for the I-797 C, passport and GC and they asked which was the status of my case. I told them that it was still pending, and that's it.
Thanks for everybody for you help and advice.
Now I am waiting for the response of the RFE. Do you know how long could take? I sent it on August 14.

My husband and I translated all of my documents (spanish-english). We use a translation online service offered by sworn translators www.nettrad.com.ar
It was fast, cheap, and we didn't have any problems with all the paper work they made.
I hope that help.

I recieved today my AP. I am planning to travel in the mid-march.
When I read the intructions on the documents, say that the AP doesn' t guaranteed the admission into the US.
Has anyone used the AP to re entry to the US? How was the experience? What I should bring?
Thanks for the help

Thanks,
I have another question: we are not divorce; we are going to move apart, “take a break”.
If I stay married when do I start to count the 3 years? From the date of marriage, the date I’ve got the two years green card or the date I’ve got the 10 years green card?
Do I still can apply based on the last three year if we are living apart for a few weeks?
Thanks
