  2. We got our CC April 23, hubby had his interview on June 3. A lot of people who had the same CC date as mine had their interviews scheduled for June 16/17/18. (Not sure if we got lucky or they scheduled ours early because NVC caused a delay in processing our application - just the latest in 18 months of them!) Anyway if you get CC this month you might get an interview in July, otherwise probably August.

  3. Hi

    Hru hope doing well.

My case complete on 20 May at NVC confirmation on phone .How many days NVC take to schedule interview.

    Your response will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Congrats on the case complete! You're a month behind me!

We got our CC on April 23 or 24 and had the interview scheduled a few days later - the interview is next week (June 3). It depends on how busy your embassy is, really. See if you can find the 'case complete to interview' thread.

  4. Hi there - My husband has his interview next Wednesday (HOORAY!!) and I was trying to register for the courier service. I keep getting stymied by the registration number for the DS-260. We never received a confirmation number for this but NVC has confirmed they received it (and we DID fill it out!) but I cannot find the confirmation number. Would NVC possibly have this number? Please please help me! Thanks!

  5. Hi

I send Sent AOS & IV Package on 20 April and NVC receive on 22 April. How much time they required to review the package?

Currently what is average time of NVC to review?

    Thanks

Faisal good news for you - NVC has REALLY sped up with their processing recently. I just heard they are aiming to move their processing times down from 30 days to 25 so fingers crossed you will have a CC by the middle of May! I sure hope so for you!!

My advice - about 25 days from your scan date, start calling NVC to find out if you've got a CC. (Also of course you can check your visa status on the CEAC website.) If everything goes according to plan, you will get your CC. But if there is any problem and you get a checklist you can find out about it and hopefully deal with it quickly. I waited to hear from NVC after I sent my paperwork in, and that probably cost us two weeks of time because we had a checklist. Hopefully that won't be an issue for you!

    Good luck! :-)

Oh, PS: Hubby's interview was scheduled today! June 3!!! HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY!!!

  6. Hi there - so after 16 months of delays and screwups (17 if you count the initial f---up) we finally, FINALLY have a case complete from NVC for my husband's visa!!!!

When I called them, they said that all the interviews at the US Embassy in London for May had been scheduled so the earliest we will get one is June.

We have waited so long, and honestly dealt with so many delays and frustrations, that whatever happens I know we can deal with it.

BUT.... I am wondering if there is anyone we can ask at NVC to see if we could possibly have our interview scheduled during the first two weeks of June, if we are going to get a June interview?

Here's why - it's a long story so scroll down to the very end if you want. :)

My husband and I currently live in Abu Dhabi. I'm nearly done completing a 3.5-year teaching contract out here, and then we are going to move to the US together. We had originally hoped to be all done with this process at least a few months before we left but now that is clearly not going to be the case! I'm done with my contract June 17, and our visas will be cancelled - we can't stay in the UAE after this time.

Anyway, because we didn't know when his case would finally be marked complete and when he'd have to go to the UK for his medical and interview, and because hubby is freelancer and can work remotely, we figured we would make plans to leave the UAE together, go to the US, and then use air miles to fly him to and from the UK for his medical and interview if necessary. We booked our UAE departure flights last Tuesday.

About 10 days ago, we found out the NVC put a hold on our case because when we'd originally been assigned a case number I tried to get us changed to the US embassy in Abu Dhabi. One email sent in December was unanswered because I'd neglected to give his D-O-B, so I resent my request on January 31. I also sent an actual letter in early January which included that information, and that was apparently lost or ignored by NVC because we never received an answer to it. We also sent in our AOS and IV packets, and regrettably got a checklist, and moved heaven and earth to resubmit docs, with a new scan date of March 17. On March 23, I got a reply to my January email, stating if we wanted to change embassies we had to provide proof of residence. Considering it had taken over 4 months to get two replies and we had so little time left in Abu Dhabi, we decided to abandon the change request, and I didn't answer the email.

Little did I know that NVC had placed our case on hold until they received a reply to us or up to 90 days from their reply to me! I didn't know that because nowhere in their email does it say they will do that!

Anyway, when I found about this, I was absolutely livid. After a total of about 3 and a half hours on hold to NVC I FINALLY got through to a supervisor, who managed to get the hold removed. Last week I checked on the case on Tuesday and it still hadn't been reviewed - that phone call finally got someone looking at our case and we got a CC Thursday.

NVC told me that all the slots for May interviews at the London Embassy are now booked. I just keep thinking that if they hadn't frozen my case we probably would have had a CC at least a few weeks earlier and a shot at a May interview date, or early June at least.

I know there are no guarantees, interview-wise, but we've been together for 13 years, and I've been told there are no "red flags" or security issues on our case. I feel pretty sure if he can get an early June date then we stand a very good chance of his being approved in time for us to fly to the states together on June 21, which is our hope. He will also then be able to attend my best friend's wedding, which is on June 27. She scheduled the date especially so I could make it, and she really wants my husband there, too.

Do you think there is ANY way I can ask NVC to try to give us a date for early June? I KNOW we would be "jumping the queue" of CC - but believe me, there are SO many people who started this process long after us and are now totally done. We have had f---ups at EVERY SINGLE STAGE of the process (read my profile!) - just this ONE thing, it would be great if we could get the somewhat smoother and faster route!

Any advice or suggestions appreciated! I know this is a long read so thanks for reading it!

  7. Likewise. It is absolute ********* ***** and makes me want to ******* *******. :wow: haha :goofy:

In all seriousness though its such a shame that even once we have a CC it can take over a month just for a interview DATE. Tbh I am shocked at that the US government thinks it is ok to treat it OWN citizens in this manner. Irregardless of us, it is standard practice to keep spouses from their partners and children for upwards of 16 months which is stunning.

But I have my fingers crossed that next week we can start seeing some more interviews :)

Oh God... we just got our CC yesterday! I would say about two weeks later than we should have gotten it due to an NVC f**kup that was corrected last Friday, which means we missed any opportunity to get an interview in May.

I'm assuming you're going through the London Embassy too! I guess I'll just hunker down and plan to wait for up to a month or more to hear about our interview :o

It has already been 16 months for us and * EVERY* STEP OF THE WAY has involved some screwup or delay of some kind. We don't mind waiting till June for the interview but my best friend is getting married at the very end of June in Chicago and she REALLY wants us both at the wedding. I've already told her theirs a possibility hubby won't be at the wedding because he might have his interview then. But it would be great if JUST THIS ONE TIME things went smoothly and the way we are hoping (interview in early June).

  8. Hi all… long time no speak. I am very glad to say that my interview has been scheduled for May 29th at the London Embassy.

Hey that is great! Good luck!

We just got our CC yesterday - FINALLY! Probably 2 weeks later than we would have done because NVC FROZE PROCESSING OUR CASE WITHOUT TELLING US!!! I had emailed in December 2014 asking to change the embassy we went through in Abu Dhabi, AND mailed them a letter in January making the same request. I never got a response to my letter, I'd love to know what happened to it.

At the end of January I got a reply to my email saying in the interest of security they couldn't respond because I'd failed to include hubby's D-o-B. (That info was in the letter that was never answered.) Anyway, I replied, included d-o-b this time, and made the same request.

In the meantime, we got a checklist and moved heaven and earth to get our docs back in the queue by March 17.

March 23, I got an email from NVC saying they could only move us to a different embassy if we sent them back proof of residence. Considering it took over four months to get responses to two emails from NVC, we ultimately decided to just go through London.

The week of April 14 I noticed people with scan dates beyond 3/17 were getting their CCs. I called them and it turned out NVC had halted processing on our case until we responded to their last email!! Fair enough but how about a) telling us we had to reply and b) telling us they were halting case processing until we did? And the hold was supposed to last NINETY DAYS!!! UGGGH!

Anyway it took a total of about 3 hours of being on hold with NVC but eventually I was able to reach a supervisor who managed to remove the hold. Called to check on things on Wednesday and finally someone sent a message urging our file to be reviewed. Thursday I woke up to our CC!!!!!

Now fingers crossed my husband gets an early June interview - we are scheduled to fly together to the US at the end of June, and I am in a wedding. They've already told us they're booked up for May. We can deal with it no matter what but it would be great if finally one thing went smoothly and easily for us in this process!

At any rate I am happy that we are finally, FINALLY nearly there! Such a relief to have that CC finally!!

  9. As I say, no rhyme or reason! I see people who filed months after me have finished this whole stupid process, it's very frustrating! (Although I am actually happy for those people.) I'm feeling particularly down about it at the moment because we are so close to being done and we just got a checklist for some really stupid things and that pushes everything back further.

But one thing that has always cheered me up is looking on VJ at other people ranting about the same thing because in nearly all cases eventually their case moves forward and they get the visa. We will get there!

  10. Sorry, although there is generally an order, unfortunately there's not really much rhyme or reason as to why some people get approved faster than others. I filed my I-130 in December 2013 and it took nearly eleven months to get approved at Nebraska. I got an RFE for missing photos (I am 100% sure they were included in our original packet btw). Some people get that and get their approval the week after they send the RFE response. We had to wait over two months for them to to finally approve us after that. In contrast, my friend filed an I-130 December 2014 and got their NOA2 in January! I spoke to a tier 2 supervisor towards the end of our wait for I-130 approval and she told us that neither I nor my husband had any 'red flags' or security issues. So why the long wait? Who knows!

I'm not saying it will take as long for you (almost certainly not), but unfortunately a big part of this process is being patient.

On the positive side though, once it has been over 5 months I think you can file an inquiry. You can also call Nebraska and ask to speak to a tier 2 supervisor who might be able to give you some information. You can also get your congress people involved. Also USCIS has cleared most of its backlog (which I was stuck in, and am now apparently stuck in the backlog that has moved to NVC, arrgh) so it probably won't be too much longer.

    Hang in there!

  11. Well, I found out that I have received a checklist for my AOS package. 4 stupid mistakes filling out the forms. A new I-864 for me, my sponsor and my sponsor's spouse is now ready to go but I still haven't received the actual checklist email and I don't want to wait for that.

    Question:
Do I need to resubmit all the supporting documents that went with my original AOS (IE, tax returns, copies of birth certs, etc.)?

Or can I just submit new I-864s and the I-864a?

Please help - definitely don't want to get ANOTHER checklist! :o

    Thank you! :-)

  12. Fill your DS-261 out and submit it as soon as possible. In our case, the AOS fee appeared within a few days of having a case number assigned. The IV fee, however, is linked to the DS-261, which needs to be reviewed and accepted by the NVC before the fee is generated. There are significant delays in getting IV fees invoiced at the moment. My wife and I have been waiting almost a month. We've already submitted all of our paperwork, though.

Yikes, I didn't know that and that is definitely not what I wanted to hear! Can you submit the paperwork for AOS and IV while you wait for IV fee to be invoiced? I was really thinking we'd have it all paid for and sent off in a few weeks!

  13. Hi all,

Well, excitingly we got our case number today! I was thinking all along it would be going through Abu Dhabi, because we live in the UAE, but we've received a case number that indicates it's going through London.

My husband is British and we've got my parents' address (in the US) down as our address.

I don't know if it's worth the rigamarole to change it when conceivably my husband could visit his fam in London when he gets his interview, but what about the medical? If we're in the UAE, can we do the medical there? Or must it be done in the place where the embassy is located?

    Thanks for all your help!

    -Mel
