Good question, I was under the impression it should be an original signature since the form said to type or print in black ink. I can't find a specific directive on this form, however they wouldn't let us send the I-129F or G325-A with scanned signatures, so I assumed this would be the same. You could use a courier so you can track the package since you said the mail system isn't good...

Congratulations on your interview date! We are looking forward to ours soon as well, my fiance is working on getting his certificates from work and then we will schedule. This is so exciting! We're in the home stretch! I'm so excited that now I'm really starting to seriously think about the wedding. lol
I was curious, how are you other brides planning for the wedding since, we haven't had a specific date to work with until the visa is granted? I have my dress, but as far as vendors I think I will call so they can have 2.5 months notice. Is anybody going for a civil wedding and reception later? I also considered the "destination package", but couldn't find one for where we want to marry... Then I thought about a civil ceremony, but have my heart set on a church wedding with family and friends.
Okay, I'll stop rambling. lol I was trying to tell my fiance the other night that I was picking wedding colors, but he's focused on his certificates and wrapping up things at home so we can be together ASAP. I don't think most men can mult-task like ladies do.

Sounds good. Thanks so much!

Hi, I have a question. My fiance will be coming to the USA on a K1 fiance visa. We have been approved with case at NVC and then he will have his interview at Mumbai. My question is, does India government require any documentation in order for him to leave the country in addition to the fiance visa?
Thanks
-
I think they were talking about RFE
If u wanna know if NVC received your file, the bast way is to call them
Yes, sorry for the confusion. I was referring to the question about the RFE.
-
We received ours within 4 days. I would call them if you don't get it by Monday.
-
Okay, now I got in. It must have just got entered in the system. The message says to follow the instructions given by NVC. Well they told me they would send it the embassy so I guess now we wait.
Something else: I had to enter our case under "Immigrant Visa". I'm confused because I thought K1 is non-immigrant, but whatever, at least they have it.
I'm thrilled!

Hello everybody, good news! I called the NVC this morning and they received our case! Got our case number. Does anyone know if we can track our case online, because I keep getting an error message. I think I read somewhere that we have to wait till it leaves NVC?
Thanks

Good to know that the police reports are good for 6 months. I'm wondering if they need to stamped or see the letter from the beneficiary's embassy? We just don't want to do it and then find out we're missing info and have to redo
-
Hi, well it's good to know that some are getting their case numbers and it's not really taking 35 days. The 16 day mark put us at Friday, but I think with the Thanksgiving holiday I'll give it to Monday or Tuesday. Thanks!
Does anybody know, should we be proceeding with getting the police check and medicals? I was telling my fiance to go for the police check, but he's thinking we should wait for the letter from the embassy. I don't know if the passport office needs that letter to stamp so it will be accepted at the interview? I saw my papers online at the Delhi and Mumbai Embassy in India, but unsure if we should go by those or just wait for the package to reach the embassy and then talk to them. I think they are supposed to mail a letter to my fiance, just wondering if we can speed up the process so was wondering what others are doing who are farther along in this journey.
Thanks in advance. You folks are great and help to make the waiting more bearable. I'm hoping we can be with our loved ones by Christmas or January and start planning early spring weddings! :)

Hi, I was curious if anyone who got their NOA2 have had their cases transferred to NVC yet. WSe got our approval on Nov. 12th and hardcopy on the 20th, but case hasn't been transferred yet and they're telling me on the phone could be 35 days. Hope it doesn't take that long but we're headed into holiday season. So I was wondering if anybody else is making progress?
-
Yes, it can be frustrating. Even being the petitioner they wouldn't tell me anything over the phone, said to wait for the letter to arrive. I don't know if your boyfriend were to call if he could speak to someone and explain the situation that he can't get to his mail? Just a thought.
-
Hi, try not to worry too much about the RFE. I got one too and worried for 3 days. I went through my copy of the petition before the letter arrived and realized I forgot to check the box for prior criminal record. So it ended but being something simple and easy to fix. So moral of the story, try not to worry, you'll give yourself an ulcer. At least an RFE means that someone has touched your case.
Take care

Hi everybody, well I called the National Visa Center this morning around 8:15EST. It seemed to be a good time because I wasn't on hold but 10 minutes. The man who answered was very nice and said he hadn't seen our petition yet. He also said that USCIS isn't good at transferring the files right when they say they will which we've all guess by now. He said it could take up to 5 weeks to receive our file. He also asked me to stay in touch because they will want to verify some of our information...I wonder if part of that will be they have the correct mailing address as another poster was concerned theirs was incomplete.
Anyway I told him I'll call back next week and seeing how next Thursday is Thanksgiving maybe I'll try and wait till Wednesday and see how things are progressing.
-
I think you should call them and correct the address so it doesn't get sent back because they're going to mail to whatever address is on the petition for your fiance. Don't want it to come back as undeliverable and lose time.
bfulton71-- I'm with you there. I got my NOA2 in the mail today, 1 week after the email. I'm planning to call the NVC tomorrow and see if they have it yet. Then I should mail my fiance his copy of the petition and forms. But it's so nice to be moving forward! Have a nice night.
-
Congratulations! We got our NOA2 email 37 days from the NOA1 and that was with RFE. California is sure giving approvals fast and I'm glad. Next comes case number and interview. Yes!!
-
Hi bfulton71, I received a text and email. Then 4 days later we received a letter in the mail. You have to wait for the mail because the email won't tell you what they want.
-
I received our hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail today. So it only took one week from an email, not bad. I know it seems like time is moving slowly but we're getting there little by little. Now to hope that NVC will get our case number assigned soon and mailed to the embassy.
-
Well, I got through just after posting this. Was on hold for about 30 minutes. The lady said she hasn't received our case yet and it can take up to 35 days for them to receive it. Hope it doesn't take that long! lol
-
NVC is supposed to mail you a letter when they ship your petition to your fiance's country.
We got the email approval last Wed (Nov 12th), still awaiting the hardcopy. NVC is always busy when I call, so it may take some trying to get through...
-
Welcome! Wish you a speedy NOA2. Since you got transferred to California Service Center there is hope it will come fast! All the best

Hi Everyone, I hope all are having a good weekend. I received the email that we got our NOA2 on Nov. 12th! And this was with an RFE which slowed us down for a week. I am so excited. Now we're just awaiting the hard copy. I'm assuming I should send my fiance a copy of the hard copy along with I129F?
Next to finish the financials and send everything off to him. I'm so excited, won't be too much longer I hope!
Good luck to everyone awaiting their NOA1 and NOA2. Hopefully we all get them soon and can move on to the next phase.
------------------------------------------------------------------
29 Sept-- I129 sent
06 Oct -- Received NOA1 text/email
12 Oct -- Hardcopy NOA1 (not sure exact date because I was out of town)
30 Oct -- RFE text/email notification received
03 Nov -- Received RFE in the mail
03 Nov -- Mailed response to RFE
06 Nov -- NOA2 approved per the USCIC website
12 Nov -- Received email notification of NOA2 (awaiting hardcopy now)

Yes, I'm hoping so too to receive the NOA2 quickly.

Well, I received an RFE on Oct. 30th. After worrying about it on the weekend, the letter came in the mail on Nov. 3rd. Apparently I'd forgotten to tick the box asking if you have a Criminal Background! I mean, I saw it when filling out the form, but I misinterpreted and thought it was asking about military personnel. Anyway sent it out the same day and hopefully we're back on track.
Congratulations to all those with fast NOA2 and hope and pray the rest of us get ours soon as well.

Well, you folks are certainly giving me some good ideas for wedding planning. I'm thinking now that we'll have our pastor perform a legal ceremony to fulfill the government's requirements and get his paperwork started. Then we can plan the "wedding" for May so we're not rushing around. I'm not sure I can plan a wedding in 2 months without feeling pressured and my mom wants to help me plan but it stuck working till end of April.
Thanks for all the ideas!
