  1. I made an appointment through infopass to talk to somebody there. She went throuhg database in her comupter and told me it's still pending. Also she told me that it's not unusual to wait this long after the interview. I just couldn't believe that!

No, we didn't get any impression from the officer what he was going to do with my case. I never thought of writing a letter to him, though. Thank you for your advice.

  2. Hi everybody, I'd like some help.

I had my interview at San Francisco office on 8/26/2004. I can't say it was totally successful because my american citizen hubby wasn't in very good mood (he thought the officer was so rude to ask personal questions!!) and also couldn't remember my birthdate.... He gets very nervous speaking with strangers as he has some speech impairments. After the officer asked us some standard questions (where we met, what we love each other about, etc...) looked at wedding pictuers, checked our bills and bank accounts, then gave us a letter with a mark on "further review" and told us to wait to hear from them. Well, we've been waiting for 16 months! The office of a congress person we asked for help contacted USCIS and found out that we've been waiting for a second interview, although we haven't heard anything from USCIS. I called the 1-800 numer several times but they just sent us a letter saying our case was under the SF office and we'd have to contact them directly. I went there to talk to an officer but all she could tell me was that the case was still pending and she didn't know why! I just want to know what's going on with my case but seems impossible to find out. Is there anybody who's experienced such a long waiting after the interview? What else can I do? Is this a good time to hire a immigration lawyer? Thank you for your help!!
