  1. Hi Yodrak,

Her appointment was for yesterday. They spent the day trying to get the Montreal office to fill the form out correctly and send it back, and they kept faxing the same form. They closed at 2:00 PDT so she had to leave the consulate and come home.

This morning she woke up and called Montreal. According to the woman she talked to, the consulate had an issue with the chest xray (which is not what they told her yesterday). Perhaps this issue required the form to be filled out differently?

There's obviously something they're not telling her. What she did get was a direct line to the people in Montreal the consulate needs to follow-up with. She's on her way down now...

Man I'm on pins and needles here.

  2. Interview: Vancouver

    Medical Exam: Montreal

My fiancee's interview went great. She was given the green light by the interviewer who had assumed everything was done. But she was waiting on some info from Montreal.

This morning she phoned Montreal. They said that the consulate called them and said they needed more information about the chest xrays, but didn't say anything more.

She's leaving in a few minutes to head back to the consulate.

I'm on pins and needles here. What on Earth could it be??? As far as we know she's in terrific shape and nobody is telling us anything! This is a girl that summitted Kilimanjaro last December!!!

If they reject her... good grief I have no idea what I'll do.

    :(

  3. My fiancee (Canadian) received her packet from the Vancouver embassy. Inside the list of forms she is to obtain, it says...

    ---

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Evidence that which will show that you and your children, if any, are not likely to become public charges in the United States. The enclosed information sheet, Optional Form 167, lists evidence which may be presented to meet this requirement of law. An affidavit of support (Form I-134) must be submitted.

    ---

Question: I've prepared this form and supplemental information (bank statements, etc.). Do I just bundle it up and have my fiancee bring it to the interview? (Sept. 11). That would be in line with what this whole document checklist appears to be about. I just want to make sure though.

    Thanks in advance!

    Rob

p.s. I've searched the forums for "134" and "I-134" and there are no hits. Strange...

  4. Hi all,

We've been I129-F approved and my fiancee is working on the DS-156 (Dept. of State Nonimmigrant Visa Application). It will be filed in conjunction with a DS-156K (Fiancee supplement) so I'm not *TOO* worried but I have questions nonetheless. USCIS wasn't too much help... "Sir, I can't tell you what to put, I can only help you understand the question. For advice you can contact a professional form preparer or a community based organization."

#22 - Intended date of arrival?

You can only put a date here. We're waiting for gov't. approval. What date is that? Should I just put down an estimate? Early October?

#26 - How long do you intend to stay in the US?

"Indefinitely" is the answer but that would seem as though it would send red flags from California to Maine.

#27 - What is the purpose of your trip?

We have no idea what's appropriate here. "To get married" ? "To live" ?

#28 - Who will pay for your trip?

Both of us will, but for simplicity's sake I'm wondering if she should just put myself (the sponser) as I'm pretty well off.

  5. Hi all,

Recently received a reply after the expected 3 months. The only issue they have is with our last meeting. I sent photographs (dated) but those did not appear to be enough.

I have many things now I will be sending but I am unsure as to what is acceptable that I photocopy. Obviously I cannot remove passport pages, and they even say to photocopy it.

For airline stubs, etc. do they expect the original? It's VERY risky as I will have no other proof of our last meeting if this is lost.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

  6. While I'm concerned that the date hasn't been updated, I do take solace in the fact that the VJ graph shows a downwards trend in NOA2 time. I'm hoping the next update of the I-129F says, "March 1" :)

  7. Hey juliekins,

I'm in the same position you are. Check cashed / case opened Feb. 14 @ CSC. Wondering why on Earth it's April and they're still processing prior to year-end.

Keep in mind that page may not be updated as often or as accurately as we would hope for that particular type of Visa. The fact that the CSC is trending downwards is a Good Thing. Let's hope it continues!

    Good luck w/your application.

  8. Hi all,

CSC signed (i.e. USPS mail receipt) for my initial I-129F package 3 weeks ago (Feb 8).

On this site, I've read that avg NOA1 time is 11 days.

    Is that:

    (FEB 8 + 11 days)

    or

(WHEN THE USCIS PROCESSING TIME PAGE SAYS THEY'RE WORKING ON FEB 8TH APPS + 11 DAYS)

    ?

Also, do they tend to email or snail mail these notifications?

    Thanks,

    Rob

It turns out they cashed the cheque on 2/15. Lots of stamps on the back. Any indication which is the case number? I'll search other posts for that...
