July 20================== 221g documents received at USEM
Status---------------------------------AP
What do they usually do after they receive your documents? Are they gonna open and give it to the consul who did your interview, begin the review process and
attach it to your file? Or they wait and put together all the 221g documents they received until they reach a certain time frame to open and review them? Any
comment out there? Thank You and good luck to all of us. Hope we'll all get our visas soon.
Your probably looking at about a month. My wife's documents were received on June 23rd. She received a issued Monday and maybe she will receive the visa around Friday as I choose the Mall of Asia. Initially they entered it as a update when they received the documents and then it seemed like there was nothing happening as you can see from my timeline. Good Luck!

Thanks!
I choose Mall if Asia so hopefully that will take off a couple of days.

I told them it was escalated in May. We wend back and forth several times. I asked can you escalate it again and she agreed to do it. Good luck!

@ishiza17 and Forever Infinity
My mom received 221g, we immediately submitted the doc they needed the same day on her interview which was on June 11 to avoid delays. Since she's from Mindanao (Dvo) she wanted to wait for her visa in Manila. Everytime I called, all the resposes I got were wait, wait and wait. It was so frustrating, because you wouldn't know if they needed more docs, the only info we have was AP. We can't even get a direct answer from them, they'll just tell us about turn around time and wait. I was so disappointed that time that I was searching how to contact President Obama, like seriously. Because we haven't receive any paperwork stating they received the doc we submitted unlike NVC, I always received emails from them. Then here goes the technical system problem. It sucks! ? And then realizing, hey I have a bigger Dad, and that's our Lord Jesus! I prayed, cried and asked to GOD. I told GOD, I will let go of the emotions and have it on HIS way. Because really I forgot that even how I want my mom here, and yet GOD has bigger plans. He works in mysterious way, so what I did is just really TRUST HIM. So after I emailed and call the embassy at the same time. While on the phone the one I spoke with said, "oh I can see your email here. Okay we will escalate this case." Then I prayed again, I said "Lord, thank you for the answered prayers. Its YOUR will now, I give it all to you. Please give me comfort and peace." After 3 days it changed to ISSUED. Then after 4 days that we can finally tracked it on 2go. And now Mom is on her way here. Thank you, JESUS! Ladies, Pls pray for her safe flight. It took the embassy 28 days to finally showed issued in ceac. The things I've learned on this is you cannot compare your case to someone else, even how frustrating it is like if someone just had her interview then ceac already put it issued after 2 days or compare yourself because they pray harder. Know that I also posts a lot of questions trends here in VJ thats how frustrated I was. But remember, We have BIGGER GUY up there who knows and holds our future. He is good dad, who always look after us. We may not understand HIS ways right now-- but we will when we get there and it all worth it. HE don't want to hurt us, or have this unimaginable emotions. HE just want us to TRUST him with all our heart and let go. HE loves you, HE loves us. God bless you and guard your heart.
So it took about a month. What number are you calling?

Interview June 4th and missing document replaced June 23rd. No update since June 25th. Frustrating as the 221g Visa's don't seem to be moving. Has anyone with a document request been issued a visa lately?

It turns out the attorney I spoke with married a woman from the Philippines himself and he said most of his cases are from the Philippines. He does K1 and CR1 visas only. He strongly advised me to go with the K1 visa and go back to the Philippines at a later date and have a ceremony like he and his wife did. He said most of his clients from the Philippines go with a K1 visa and most of his clients who choose the CR1 visa are in Canada or Meico because they can visit each other more frequently. However now that me and my girlfriend discussed getting married in the Philippines I think her mind is made up that that is what she wants to do and I can't tell her no.
I am wondering if we had a wedding in the Philippines first that wasn't legally binding would we have any problems with the K1 visa process? That way my girlfiend and her family will be happy and we can be together sooner. As far as a church wedding goes we wanted to do that at first but we decided to go with a civil wedding after seeing all the hoops we would have to jump through.
I would like for us to just go with the CR1 visa and move to the Philippines for a large amount of the time we would be waiting but that doesn't seem practical considering I will need a US mailing address and enough income to bring both her and her son over here. My girlfriend is so excited I can tell and is already planning our wedding with her family. I hate to let her down but I also hate to have to wait more than a year to be with her. I hope we can find a compromise somehow.
Most do K-1's as they are faster. I did a CR-1 and I don't regret it. It's a special experience to do a wedding in the Philippines. As you can see is is very important to the bride in many cases to celebrate with her family. It is also very affordable compared to the USA wedding. It will also save you over a 1000 dollars as she will receive her green card soon after arriving. Since my wife is from the Philippines they expedited her at USCIS and she doesn't even live in the Typhoon areas. As the previous poster mention you could also move there and petition there. If you do a CR-1 just make sure she is the one. Good Luck!

AP since June 4th. Missing document received by immigration unit on 6-25. Now we wait with no updates since then.
-
My wife had her interview the other day and they gave her a 221g white paper asking her to send the missing document for name change and they also told her to send her passport too so is this good or will it take a long time like I've been seeing all over the web?
My wife has a document that was lost in the mail or by the embassy. They received a replacement on 6-23 and CEAC updated 6-25. Now we wait and hope we get it this month. It seems to take longer once you get the 221g as people getting their interviews seem to get their visas fast.
Good luck!

June 4th inetrview and they were missing the Hong Kong police certificate that was sent 3-25. I ordered another and it was finally delivered June 23rd per the Phil Post Postmaster Generals Office. I can now see my file was updated June 25th so it looks like we are back on track. Not sure if this puts us at the end of the line or not. It seems from researching it usually takes about 2 weeks after they receive a document. Then again with all the visa problems who knows.
-
Congratulations!

Hong Kong Police mailed my wife's Police Certificate on March 25th to the Manila Embassy. I was able to track it to Manila, but Philpost never showed a delivered scan. When my wife went to the interview they didn't have it.
Hong Kong Police sent another certificate and it arrived on the 17th to the Philippines. Now I'm waiting to see if they screw up again. So far nothing shows on Philpost tracking.
We have no choice as that's the only way Hong Kong does the certificates. If you have a choice use private.

I have taken PAL a couple of times from San Francisco to Manila and back. It was a great flight. The trick to avoid the long lines is to get there 4 hours early. Then go have dinner and a drink. The nice thing about PAL is it has non stops from LAX and SFO. I will always take it if the price is right as sometimes they are too expensive.
-
Congratulations!
That has to feel good!!!

He chose the married filing separately one..
I filed married filing seperate and chose NRA. I haven't received the return back and the check was cashed.

Hi, never trust philpost with nothing cuz when my wife had to get her SG POLICE CLEARANCE it was never delivered to her and we wasted valuable time getting a new one plus the expense of sending her back to Singapore to request it
That's why I had the Singapore certificate picked up and sent by DHL to me. Hong King will only send it directly and they send it registered. I have no choice here and I'm caught up in the breacracy now.
I have emailed embassy, but don't expect much from that. Hong Kong claims they will send another Monday. It sounds like they send many at one time. I don't trust this either. Nothing I can do as they don't give you a choice
June 2015 Interview Approved USEM, did you get your visa?
