Visa Reciprocity page says: "Police Records: Unavailable for applicants inside and outside Indonesia. Indonesian police certificates require initial processing at a local or village level, which is nonstandard in nature, can be subject to capricious decisions by officials and may require nonofficial payments to proceed further."

It sure seems you don't need to bring one. For peace of mind, I would verify with other VJ members from Indonesia as well as with the embassy itself.

got interview letter (p4) email for my interview on November 26th at Islamabad Consulate, Pakistan.

I have a question regarding the checklist for my documet I need to bring with me to the interview,

For Police Certificate.. it stated the code:X This document is unobtainable

what that means as i have already submitted original police certificate to NVC.

Do I need a new police certificate again or not ?

I have the same question before and we have the same case, and I emailed the embassy asking for that.. and they have answered that I don't need to bring poilice certificate for the interview.

Worst case scenario: At the interview you will be given back all your originals (if you have provided copies) and the CO will put your approval/visa on hold until you get a new passport. About the last thing you want to happen.

If I were you, I'd get a replacement birth certificate and a new passport now to bring to the interview.

Don't rely on what NVC reps say. Check DOS guidelines or contact embassy direct on this matter.

I checked the DOS guidelines for IMMIGRANT visa.. it state Valid Passport .. doesn't state about 6 month things

Just called NVC and they told me that my INTERVIEW DATE is on Nov 25th 12.30p at US Embassy in Jakarta. The Rep said just wait another 5-10 days to get the Instruction Email for that.

my CC on Sept 22 ( Found out my CC date by calling them too )

Okay.. now i have a question to ask..

My Passport will expired less than 6 month which is in early February 2015. My question is can i use this passport to bring to the interview? The thing is.. i can't renew my passport since my birth certificate is at NVC. To renew my passport requires original or certified copied which i don't have with me now.

I remember awhile ago i asked twice with rep at NVC over the phone.. first one told me he has no rights to say it.. and the second rep.. she said it should be fine.

Seems for me should be fine .. since this is one way trip to US.. and planning to renew my Passport at Indonesia Embassy in Los Angeles .. right after i arrived there. BUT again... i'm not sure about it. Maybe any of you knows and have ideas? I prefer someone who knows about my situation to answer this question.

You have called NVC hundreds of times!? We found our caller here since everyone on this thread hates calling NVC!

Could you please call NVC twice a day (until we have our interview dates) to see if they have begun scheduling interviews?

not literally hundreds of times tho ( just like when people say "wait a second or wait a minute" doesn't mean 1 second or 1 minutes right? ) but A LOT.. especially when i have to wait mostly more than 1 hour before i got in touch with NVC rep. I'm using my ipad wifi only to call them... so no need to stick to my ears for long period of time when using MAGICJACK. Btw .. this App not just offering free calls to US & Canada from anywhere in the world.. also the App is free! yay!! :D

Btw.. everytime i make a call to NVC.. i use MAGICJACK app.. and i called them for free. this app can call any mobile also landline number in US & Canada for free as long as you want. I guess I saved a lot of money since i called them almost hundreds time since my case stay at NVC.

I've heard Skype is cheap.. but so far no one can beat MAGICJACK yet.. it's totally free!

No there is nothing online that's says Case Complete. Maybe NVC is working on that. The Case complete email comes 7 days after case complete.

Can you please fill out the case complete form so you can be added to the spreadsheet. You have no timeline so I can't add you. Thanks

Hi.. I got case complete on September 22 by calling NVC. 2 days ago i called and let them know that i have not received case complete email, and the lady told me that they will send by email in 3 business day. But no email yet till now. I will wait till tomorrow tho about the case complete email.

Also i asked about interview schedule and the lady told me they dont know yet.. and she said there is no timeframe to figure out when is the interview date.. but she said it all depends the embassy spot.. ( for my case Jakarta Embassy in Indonesia )

So now.. like most of you.. I'm just waiting and expecting an email from NVC pop up on my email
