We got a 221g denial for a missing police clearence, however my fiance has never been arrested or in trouble with the law. We had our interview on April 27th but unlike you we didn't send the clearence and passport until June 2 or 3 because the clearence took a long time to get to us. They started processing us on June 9th and again on June 10th showing our CEAC statuses as AP. However due to the technical problem our case got held up because they couldn't print visas. They started processing us again on the 24th (a day after Ankara started working again) and changed our CC date from December 8th, 2014 to June 24th, 2015. Our status was also changed to ready and the visa went from immigrant to non immigrant. Now as of April 25th we are in AP again, but I heard that just means the visa is being printed but I am not sure.
Hi icechamp-
Have you received your visa yet or are you still waiting? We turned in the documents they asked for a month or so after the interview date and not the CEAC website says August 19th. I'm curious to know how yours is going. Thanks.

We had our long awaited visa appointment today and were denied under 221g. My fiancé was involved in a (stupid) bar fight a few years ago and was arrested. He was let go with no charges, and it was hard to even find information about it at all when we were gathering documents, and now they want more. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? How long does it usually take to process if we find and send in the documents on Monday? He is from the Dominican Republic so if anyone has any direct experience with that embassy that would be great. Thank you in advance.

I was also pregnant when I was doing the fiancee visa the first time, and like everyone said they won’t expedite it; however, they also denied a tourist visa because they said he had no reason to return home. When doing the tourist visa we didn’t lie and said he was coming to be there for the birth of his child while waiting for the K-1 visa and they outright said to him that he wouldn’t come back and denied him. I WOULD NOT lie to the embassy to get a visa, that’s not what I’m saying here, I’m just sharing when I did try to get him here they outright denied it and said to wait for the K-1 visa to be processed, it was a waste of money and time. That doesn’t mean you can’t try it, but I have been in your shoes and looked into what I could do and unfortunately there is pretty little. The second time I did the fiancée visa (for the same guy, LONG STORY) I was also pregnant, then lost the baby early and had to have the funeral without him while he was waiting for his interview. It was also not a reason to get anything expedited because even though you can put in a request for a family death, it takes so long to get an answer and by that time the funeral is over and they ask why does he need to travel then. So the sad answer to your question is that most likely he will miss the birth. There are lot of things you can do to close that distance, facetime was my saving grace this time around.
It’s hard when you have milestone moments without your partner but unfortunately they care very little about those and sometimes trying to get things expedited at the embassy level can backfire because they don’t have much empathy. I get it, they have a lot of cases, their jobs are to be cynical, and I’m sure everyone wants their case expedited so they’re used to being very matter of fact. I’ve also heard from others about my embassy that they also get really annoyed easily when you think “you’re special” and try to get your case moved faster than others. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, but I’m just passing along my situation and results. I’m sorry there isn’t a better answer!
Thank you for your honest answer. I'm sorry for your loss
We actually tried to get him a tourist visa, but that was denied as well. You're right, it was a waste of money and really set us back more than we already were financially. I have been aware for a while there isn't much I can do to get him here, but you know those moments late at night when you start getting desperate and think there must be a way to get him here, there has to be! And then you wake up and reality hits you again. I will try some of these suggestions, but I think Skype or something similar is my best bet. Thanks again.

Idea:
Your fiance gets a B2 visa. Visits for birth of baby. Returns home. Finishes K1 process. You marry. Live happily ever after.
We tried that, and he was denied his B2 visa, unfortunately. Thanks for the idea, though.

Thank you, both of you, jeez that was such a slap in the face, first time I posted on here, too! If it's not a helpful comment I don't get why people need to respond like that. Anyway, moving on

Hi all!
I was just wondering if anyone knew any way to make the fiance visa process faster. I'm not saying I deserve to have my fiance here any faster than anyone else, but I am 6 months pregnant (due in March) and am going to have our baby in the US. I would like to have my fiance there with me obviously, but our NOA1 date was October 17th and we are being processed at the Texas service center (the slowest one possible, it seems like). Is there any way to have our application switched to a different center (I'm from Vermont, so I don't know why it didn't go to the VSC)? I have tried to call and expedite our application but it was denied. I know it is not the end of the world if he is not there at the birth and I have already prepared myself for it, but I would just like to know if anyone was able to find a faster way. Thanks for your help.
Lost vaccination records after medical in home country??
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Hello!
I just have a question about the adjustment of status process. We already sent in my husband's I-485 package with all of the required documentation and we got the NOA1 on January 20th, 2016. Biometrics appt. is on February 19th. So the process seems to be coming along, but I just realized I overlooked the I-693 and medical information. I didn't send in an I-693 with the transcription from the civil surgeon. When I was filing the I-485, I asked my husband for his vaccination record and he said they didn't give him one after he got ALL of the shots at the medical exam in the Dominican Republic. Now I'm wondering where that vaccination record is - was it inside the Do Not Open package that they gave him when he picked up the results? If so, we turned in that packet at the POE when he came here for the first time. I just assumed that the vaccination record was in there and that USCIS already had what they needed so I didn't need to turn in an I-693, but now I'm reading that we needed to turn it in??
If we do need to do the I-693, how do I get a copy of his vaccination record? Was it inside the packet? Do I need to call the place where he got his medical done originally??
Thanks in advance for any insight!
