k1 visa legal alien not allowed to work

Hi there, I noticed though on the to 10211.530 list that k1 falls under allowed to work.... With proper authorization? But the k2 is as u said not allowed to work. Mmmm guess they'll correct me at the ss office if not. Ty though

Hi there! I need a little help. I have to apply for our ssn and needed to know whether I need to check " legal alien allowed to work" or not allowed to work? That's for myself (k1) and my kiddos(k2). We're filling for our adjustment of status and so forth in a month or so.

I had to actually cancel my tickets waiting on Johannesburg embassy. They told me I'd have our passports in two days.... Weeks later after crying my eyes out they called me saying they had difficulty in spelling my name! Imagine ... Anyhow went to the embassy a hour later .... Flew out that same evening ? Yaaay so just chill as hard as it is. They take their sweet time

are you the USCitizen Petitioner? still in JoBerg? Can get into the Embassy during ACS, American Citizen Services, (posted hours or appointment) and ruffle a few Vice-Consuls, soonish, now, next.

Good morning, tell me do you perhaps know of anyway for me to check the status of the visa online? Since yesterday evening I don't get anything from ceac except that there's no results for my search.

No my fiancé is the U.S. Citizen. I seriously feel like simply giving up at this stage. Phoning again tomorrow but i doubt it will help seeing as the status is still stuck at "ready" and I can only collect the passports on Mondays and Wednesday and it takes hours to get to the embassy and then of cause the wait to be helped also

Wish it was so easy. Simply don't have the finances left after all this to reschedule and pay 4 times more for flight tickets. If I knew I was going to have to pay accomodation if have tried to go back " home". Madness that they don't see the need to just tell a person what's going on.

Is there anyone that had interviews at the Johannesburg embassy lately that could share they're experience?

I had my interview the 30 Th of June. Got approved and was told my kids and I will have our passports back in 3 to 5 days. It's two weeks later.

A week after the interview I phoned and asked if there was a problem. I was told the person who I had the interview with wasn't in all week to sign off my case. Few days later I was told my visa is fine but the kids are pending security checks. Wednesday i saw the kids status changed to ap but mine just read ready! Friday the kind visas was issued. Monday I called and guess what? Now my visa is not done! Had to cancel our flight for yesterday and reschedule much later as possible since flight prices are crazy after Friday. It's still just reading ready! This is so frustrating. Have to stay in a room for a month now since the doctors and everything is in Johannesburg only and then u still are being kept in the dark like this. Mean it's A years waiting for all kinda of clearance checks what on earth is left to check? Terribly frustrated. plz let me know if anyone had the same with k1 and k2 visas that's not processed together.

Hi ! My kiddos and I had our Interview on the 30th of June. Approved Yaay! But still waiting! My kids status changed to ap last Wednesday then issued Friday afternoon. Myne though still stuck with a ready status! Making a person wonder what else do they want to Check up on after 10 months of checks? Crazy!

Hi there. Been looking into topics Regarding administrative procesSing and I can do with some advice. Our interview was two weeks ago about. Here our visas usually gets printed within 3 days as per my pink slip stating our visas are approved. With our departure date getting terribly close I decided to email and call to find out what the problem might be. First I was told the case worker wasn't there to sign off our visas to get printed. Yesterday I'm told the kids are getting security checks done. My question is what security checks can be done on kids aged 6 and 8. Just wish I understood might help me to be a bit more patient. I immideatly checked online and noticed mine says ready like from day one and the kiddos status says ap unlike the ready status they had before. We never got a email regarding ap at all. Well canceling our tickets today with a very heavy hart. Just pray it's resolved and printed ASAP .

Dear no1 needs ure simpathy or your very u flattering harsh comments. This forum is here for ppl to actually help and support each other. And no one is competing with u. It's pretty much personal when a person " whines" about wanting to end a extremely long process in most of the cases. I really don't see the relevance in ure comments. And wish u good luck. Ure going to need it.

It's really annoying and frustrating to hear people whining and complaining about how long it's taking to get the visa. Can't you just be HAPPY that you're APPROVED? Something many of us on here can't say. It's a matter of time before it's in your hands, and you know that. They're not holding your visa hostage.

Well I guess that just depends on how long Ones waited to start... Not to mention the personal/financial issues that goes along with it all. I can tell u I've been doing a lot more than just " whine" the past few days .... Then one goes and researches this issue and see people that actually still have to wait months! I thought the first 9 months waiting for the noa2 was horrible.... These days after the interview is even worse ... Seriously not easy.

Oh I pray all this gets over and done with soon! I must be honest but so far I was fearing the worst. Did u ever get a notice regarding the ap? That's the most confusing part for me. I mean I will have to cancel our flight tomorrow because of this and that's terrible as it is, thinking I could wait months still for "no" reason makes me want to go bonkerz!

I'm giving up here really! Went for our interview two weeks ago... Was told " great news your approved" and even told I can book my ticket! Told I'd have my passport back in three days! A week later I emailed them and was told the officer who needs to sign off our visas for printing wasn't there to do so! Today I hear my kids are under administrative processing/ security checks! For what on earth after ten months ??????? Please someone if you know what could be going on let me know. I'm starting to wonder if shouldn't just go on alone. Seems not everyone's entitled to love and happiness. So so frustrating

So so disappointed at this stage! Nearly two weeks since our interview and no passports yet. This has been the most difficult two years and it just won't stop it seems.

Hi there! The ds 2001. Do I need to complete a form for each of my children also? The address I supply there will that be the address that they will send the passports to when the visa is finalized or can I still collect it at the embassy?

The money isn't the main thing. My fiancé is so not into sending anything here anymore. Our kids are yet to get their Xmas presents to be honest. And yes it was via South African post but still I can understand in a way. I really didnt think that that would be such a huge issue seeing that it's not my documents to start with and they accepted copies with the initial application u know! Ah well il phone again tomorrow and see if certified copies will b accepted

Oh my! Nightmare if the orginals gets lost!

Ok I'm getting so many different answers. My fiancé was married twice. First he was divorced and then his last marriage ended when his wife passed away. So ok we have a divorce decree and a death certificate. Must be send orginals of that to me in South Africa? That's beyond risky! Our post office strikes 9 out of 12 months a year. I have packages at customs of over a month ago That's not even sorted yet! What else is a absolute must to have orginals of that will be coming from him to me? Any help plz.

Took 8 months to get my noa2 and still Cali ppl get done and sorted in a month. Total bs! Doubt it will change and I'm sure those ppl Wil have a interview date before me too. Sucks
