  1. Hey guys!

We got approved on the spot!!!!!!

Our interviewer loved us! He even gave us his personal number on our way out. It was intense. Not the questioning just the atmosphere. We were one of the first couples and it took an hour. We waited for like 30-45 minutes for them to call our number but once we got in there he just asked us one question and that's how did this relationship come about. He made us know that our filing date was a red flag (because it was so close to when we got married) but he believed our love was real and we had every evidence even more than he wanted. He said we made his job easy and that we were approved on the spot. He wished us all the best and for us to have a long happy marriage.

So good luck to everyone else! I am so relieved and ecstatic??? and I'll see you guys in two years!

  2. Hey guys...its been awhile since ive been in here. CONGRATSS to everyone who has gotten their green card and gotten through the process!

We have our interview on Tuesday Feb 24th...I am taking Proof I was in school(i-20 & i-94), proof of address, joint accounts, joint insurance(renters),signed affidavits from my boss and our mutual friends, multitude of pictures, medical and my transcripts from school plus our original documents that we submitted with our initial applications. My wife is still under her parents insurance for health and car. I don't have either I don't make enough money and I don't have a car. Is that enough?

Also none of us changed our names because we are a same sex couple and we are still having issues in Florida with marriage rights and laws. Do you guys think that will be a problem? Also our interview is at 7am i hope we get someone nice that early!

  3. Hey guys I have a question. I got a cancellation email an then received an interview notice in the mail. Then after that I received my cancellation notice. I was planning on going to the interview anyway because I hadn't received any correspondence from USCIS but then yesterday I received my rescheduled date for February 24. My question is should I still go to the interview to have them tell me in person since I received the rescheduled date or just don't even bother???

Let me know what you guys think!

  4. Danielle congrats!!!!!

We got approved too!! After waiting for more than 2 hours in the waiting room the IO called our number.

He was the nicest man, professional and friendly.

Our interview last less than 10 minutes. He makes us swear.. Then asked for documentation my husband gave him his DL and I gave him my EAD.

He asked if we still live in the same address... If the signature from 1 document was from my husband... Asked if I had a job I said no, I just got my SSC a week ago and I still need to learn to drive.. And my husband said that's the next step and they both laughed. Then asked about my husband's job and talked for a little bit about it and random experiences. Asked me what date we got married. And if I went to honey moon I said not my husband said we are still saving money for the real thing, ceremony and honey moon and then the IO started talking about his honey moon with his wife lol.

He asked for the most recent bank statement my I-94 and if I had pictures, he looked at all the pictures and asked where a couple of pictures where and said ok I will approve you 2 right now.. And talked about ROC a bit said God bless you and joked about my folder being organized and after that I dropped the folder and we have to pick up the documents HAHAHAH

We were just getting out the elevator when my husband got 2 text messages from uscis saying the card is in production :) so happy!! There was a point I was so nervous while waiting and it was sooooo easy, he didn't look at any other of my documents or asked about anything else

CONGRATSSSSS!!!!! I'm so happy it went so smoothly for you guys. I know it was getting a bit frustrating with the wait after the early walk in biometrics but im happy you guys got approved! :-)

    Thank you!

I went to the Atlanta field office and I arrived at 11:45 about an hour early. Went through security which was a zoo. You have to check in no sooner then 30 minutes prior. I checked in went up to the 2nd floor. Waited for about an hour and some and we were called in.

We were asked to swear that everything we were saying was the truth. She asked for my court documents for my youth record which I provided her. Then she asked for photo ID and my passport. She also asked for proof of shared life. I provided our lease, our insurance, our health and dental insurance, and our joint bank accounts.

She asked a few questions. Asked how we met, and when, and when we met in person. Also asked if we skyped or anything like that so we knew what the other looked like. I said yes. Asked my husband my birthday and when he proposed. Asked questions from the forms and checked our id for our address.

Also asked when we moved in there and if we had any other marriages or children not listed. Asked us to confirm our signatures and phone numbers listed. Asked what we did for a living.

At the end she said she has to have one more thorough look at our documents but it seems good and there shouldn't be able issues. I should receive my green card in 3 weeks.

I gave them everything that they asked for. So we feel positive about it.

JUST GOT AN EMAIL MY GREEN CARD IS IN PRODUCTION!'

CONGRATTSSSSSS!!!! Happy you got approved! :-)

  5. So I haven't been around the forum since Thursday night! I was busy all weekend it was my birthday Friday 21st and I've been with my inlaws doing things.

1 hour ago I checked uscis and everything was as usual I just checked again before going to sleep and my AP is aproved date November 24 and EAD is in card production!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited a couple tears jumped out me eyes hahahaha seriously.

The thing is I never got any emails and when I click in each case it says individually approved since November 22 both and November 24 card production.

Congrats to everybody else who I see with news too!! I will update my timeline now to help others.

I'm very happy :) And good luck to those with RFE things will get fixed!!!

I'm so happy for you! Congrats huh! It's been a long time coming! Hope you get an update about your interview soon!

My status updated to RFE response review just got some text messages from USCiS.

Just hope I get some good news soon! :)

  6. Hey Guys I need some help..Below is what my RFE says I am a bit confused and need some clarification as to what it is that they want. There are 2 boxes that are checked ill type out exactly what each box says. I'll represent each box with a bullet point. The stuff in yellow is what they highlighted in my RFE. I dont understand what they want from part 1 but I understand part 2 completely. Can anyone shed some light? Cause i dont know if they want both part 1 and part 2 or just the joint sponsor. I dont want to have to make an INFOPASS appointment because im gathering documents as I am typing this to get it sent off.

    • Submit all supporting tax documentation (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service for the most recent tax year.

The petitioner/sponsor must submit all supporting tax documents for the most recent tax year.

    • Based on the documents submitted with Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for the petitioner/sponsor, the income did not meet 125%(100% if military) of the poverty guideline for the petitioner/sponsor's household size.

Submit evidence of assest that meet the standards listed below or obtain a joint sponsor.

  7. Proof of US citizenship ( naturalization/birth certificate, US passport ), employment letter, pay stubs for the past 6 months, Tax transcripts or proof of filed taxes for the past 3 years. ( I used transcripts ) .. That's all I submitted for my joint sponsor and I received no RFEs so far. BTW taxes for the most recent Tax year are

    MUY importante !

Awesome! Thank you so much for the help lala1. Im gonna throw in the W2s in there as well with everything that you said.

Good luck at your interview coming up! :)

  8. Hi guys,

So I received my RFE letter in the mail yesterday and they said I didnt submit all the documents for my spouse (petitioner) Which I know I did! And also that the income doesnt meet the poverty guidelines.

Like I thought they look at the current income and not the past income. Anyway they said I NEED TO prove assets or get a joint sponsor. So thats what we are going to do. Her father(who doesnt live with us) will sponsor us and I need someone in the forum who used a joint sponsor and got their process moved forward to answer this question.

WHAT EXACTLY DO I NEED FROM THE JOINT SPONSOR THAT WILL NOT CAUSE ANYMORE PROBLEMS???

    PLEASE HELP!

    THANKS GUYS!

  9. Thank you everyone. Fingers crossed your cases move quickly. From looking at other months, it seems like some locations are backed up a lot.

Christmas Day would be day 90 for me, and I was really hoping! Would make a great gift!

I need to figure out proof for the interview. I'm not on the mortgage, don't have car insurance together, but we have children born in '08, '11 and '14 so I think that is the best proof. Our oldest is 6 1/2 years old and I'll only get a conditional GC, lol. Hate that it took so long to get here.

I dont think you need to prove anything more than your three kids and your wedding photos...youre good! :) Pray that you get approved on the spot!

Me and my partner have a lot more proving to do but I think when our time comes we will be fine, because we literally did everything together before we got married so we have alot of documentation.

But Congrats on the update!!! :)

  10. I think we are all just on edge and need to relax a little. We said September was a good month and it still is, just have a few bumps in the road. We will all get what we need in time. I think we just need things to occupy our time so we can stop focusing on this process so much.

We have to remember there are THOUSANDS of people doing the same thing we are and there are a couple IO's processing the cases so we just have to be patient guys.

Best of luck and remember prayer works BEST! :)

  11. @ coTL: no tax documents for 2013? If you're lucky then they'll ask for it at your interview so take it along.

@ mmanginsay: RFEs can come at any point of the process. Some people got RFEs for their taxes or other documents at their interview! With uscis anything can happen, so prepare well. I was upset that I got an RFE, but it is what it is; I pray for good news this week.

I agree...I am a bit bummed about it. I am pretty sure I gave above and beyond the requirements. The only thing I didn't do was my medical and I'm not sure if that's what the RFE is for. But will know next week.

My birthday is Saturday so I was hoping for my EAD by then as a gift. So much for that :(

I just pray everyone gets past the RFE's and moves forward.

  12. I also got an RFE for I845 and when I called USCIS (twice) I was told that it does actually delay all the application that are associated with the I845 and yes that includes the i765 ... :/ so I guess nobody in USCIS knows what they are talking about .. #sad

That is what it would look like. I wish that wasnt the case. We should be able to get our work authorization and be able to work if there is no criminal activity associated with our records...Sigh im bummed now!

  13. we are in the same boat. I also got an RFE on the I-485 asking for further tax info from my co-sponsor. I hope it doesnt delay the EAD/AP..I´m desperately waiting for them..

keep us postet about your progress..

Yea I had called USCIS and asked if it would and the officer told me no it should not and that it was just the I-485 but I have yet to hear any update regarding the I-130 or the I-765 and both the i765 n i485 was in my biometric appointment. So I don't even know.
