I was wondering if there is like a time limit that you can stay abroad with the EAD/AP combo card? My husband has a family emergency that he has to leave the country for and it will probably be for about 3 months, just wondering if he'll run into problems when he comes back to the US. Thanks.

My husband and I are planning to travel towards the end of this year. His EAD/AP card expires 2/22/2016, which means as long as we return before that date we should be fine right? Because we just got the dreaded NPIW and know it will be months before getting the green card. We shouldn't have to renew the EAD/AP card before if we are planning on returning December or January right? Thanks.

We're adjusting status from k-1, sending in I-485, I-131, I-864, I-765. Does the petitioner need to send in a g-325a form also or just the applicant? Thanks~

We are trying to apply for adjustment of status from K-1 and we are also submitting the I-131 because we are planning on leaving the country to visit families during the process. Does anyone know how long usually it takes for the I-131 to come down? Because we are trying to plan our trip and kinda want to know the timeline....thanks.

I got the same exact NOA2 letter as you Karlo....no mentioning of NVC...so I too am confused.
And when I checked the USCIS website, I noticed for other approved applications said "we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.", but then mine just said "we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice." Not sure if they just haven't mailed out my application yet or what, but then again the NOA2 hardcopy metioned no NVC and just said to contact the consulate with any questions.....
Andy&Lovely - my didnt stated like that..this is wat it say..
"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes. THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA.
2nd paragraph states tat my fiance has to marry me within 90 days
3rd paragraph states if fiance does not marry me, he will be departed.
4th paragraph states that USCIS and the U.S. department of homeland security reserve the right to verify the information submitted.
tat is all in the letter...didnt say anything about NVC...or was it send to the embassy instead?? help...I am confused

Is it possible to not be able to get the divorce decree and only be able to get the divorce certificate? We got RFE for "Proof of legal termination of marriage" and we had sent in the divorce certificate. Is the divorce decree only issued by courts? What if the divorce didn't go through court?

Hi,
We got an RFE for "Proof of legal termination of marriage". We had sent in the divorce certificate, I am guessing this is not good enough? I am under the impression that divorce decree is issued by the court, but what if the divorce never went to court? My fiance is from Taiwan and divorces there usually don't require court action. He had divorced by mutual consent witnessed by two people then registered with the government authority over there. Or....am I missing something here? Is it possible to not be able to get a divorce decree? Thanks~
Getting green card while being abroad
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

My husband is abroad now due to family emergency, and he is using AP to travel. I got a notice last week that his green card's been approved. Would he need to tell the officer this when he comes back? That he already got his green card but doesn't have it with him or would that complicate things? Thanks.
