You are definitely right Jan22. I mistakely read the question, i though the Child is already in the US and about to expire. Sorry about that. Thanks for clarification.

You will only need to apply I-485 adjustment of status to a Permanent resident, I-130 is not required for K1 or K2. It take 3 to 4 months. Please read this link.

Hello VJ's,
My K1 visa was approved last January 2015. Currently I am now in the USA living happily with my husband. I just got my GC few weeks ago. Now We would like to apply for a K2 and get my daugther who was left in the Philippines. We have few questions as follows:
Do we need to have a separate application or just apply for a visa at the consulate since i was K1.
Does she need to have full medical at st lukes hospital? She just turn 13 last week.
Do she need to have a visa interview? If not, how do we send the passport for visa stamp?
What step by step procedure for a K2 when done later after parent K1 already in the USA.
Please send me your experience in the past. Your response is highly appreciated.
Thank You so much in advance.

You guys just provided amazing and valuable information. Since we just check that our NVC status is "Ready", we will go ahead and schedule the interview. Thank you.

A1422, I will follow your advice. We are now very excited to schedule the an interview. God bless to you all..
Hi i just want to ask how did you get your Manila case number? was it thru phone call or by mail? Fiance is trying to call NVC since 1st week of December but he always got a busy tone
BabyloveJensen,We received the NOA2 on 11/18/14, I then read some VJ blogs that its possible to get this info by calling then NVC. I then emailed NVC on 12/8/14 and try to call them but calls can not go thru because the line is always busy even with more than 90 times attempts. The NH NVC office opens at 7am to 12MN eastern time. The following day, sInce I am here in califonia I need to wake up exactly 4am and try to call them hoping I will be the first caller....and Voila!! just 2nd attempt and a machine answered my call, I then waited for 15 minutes until I speak with the operator. I am surprise that she told me that she is just barely working on my case and putting my files on the system, then she gave me the MNL######, she mentioned that my case will be forwarded to manila in a wee or two. I check the NVC case status after just 2 days and it is already "In Transit", then another 3 days and its "Ready". My suggestion is to keep calling NVC and make sure its in the early morning just after office opening. In my experience calling or contacting makes your file above the rest and then become next in the queue list.By the way to date I have not received any email back from them. -

We got the NVC Case number on 12/9/2014 and checked the case status is "In transit" at that time. Now 12/13/14 the status was changes to "Ready", my question is can we pay the visa fee and schedule an interview without Packet 3? I know it will be on the way but we are wondering if we can do the scheduling ahead. Please let us know your comment and experience in the past. Thanks

Hello Kumar1,
Yes our daugther was listed on the i-129f. During my interview the officer ask me if we are bringing my daugther and i said they will follow because i need to settle first in the US. We now need guide for k2 application before 1 year expiration. Thanks
