  1. Hey guys hope all is well

I have a quick question, I previously intended on going back to the Dominican republic to get my fiancé but now I have been transferred from NYC to Miami for two whole month by my company, we decided to go ahead and have her meet me in Miami I figured it will be a good thing then we come back together to NYC. Now is it a good or bad idea to have her get on a plane for the first time alone and into Immigrations alone? Anyone know what’s the worst that can happen? Thanks in advance

  2. Hey guys first I want to say thanks to all of those who have helped me through out this process the first challenge is finally over we got visa in hand, now to the other adventure that awaits us at the states Aos ouch!!! I do have a question I am from nyc now I was thinking of stoping by miami first with my fiancé so I was thinking buying our flight like this DR to MIA for 4 days then MIA to JFK would this be possible since K1 visa is only good for one entry?? Please any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. hello everyone I was wondering if anyone can help figuring out what I should do Or any suggestions, Case is ready For scheduling at the Dominican Consulate. now I am having trouble getting an appointment date I tried calling the 703 number and those people are clueless,:ranting: one even suggested that nvc had my cita date to call them..I'm going crazy here can anyone tell me if they called or did it online and what exactly they did maybe i'm missing a step?? VIsa is already been paid for on 3/2/2015 either I'm getting a message online you are approaching maximum attempts please make a selection now but hence nothing comes up

  4. So what's next ? I haven't received nothing from the embassy.... Should i call or something ?

First congrats... The dominican Repiublic has changed a lot they're process. You have a bit more control now. Visit

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/iv-new_process-k1_steps.html Follow the steps You should be working on Ds-160 Form You can fill it out for the Beneficiary Just make sure she is the one to submit and sign the form. Print that comfirmation page and save it. Second visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/do/

make a profile and then print the correct visa fee use this link once you have made a profile at the link i provided previously. this link http://www.ustraveldocs.com/do/do-svc-groupappointment.asp to print the correct visa fee scroll down to were it says k-1 with that form take it to a banco pay the fee with the receipt you will use it to log back into UStraveldocs and make your interview appointment and then a vac appointment were the beneficiary will be finger printed and a photo will be taken also. in between that time make sure you go to the medical. anything we are all here to help. again congrats.

  5. Just to be sure here, you are sure you were at texas service center? It seems so since the petitioner is in ny. Did you do anything , contact anyone regarding your case? Any reason to be expedited?

I saw another DR approval that was only 2 months in a few weeks ago, can't remember who for the life of me, but they claimed no expedites.. it's intriguing

Yes I am positive it was processed at TSC, to be honest with you I didn't do anything special that anyone here hasn't done I just think that luck just played a large role maybe my application fell on someones lap i dont know I know it isn't fair for many who have waited longer than me this is why the system has to change.

  6. Good morning guys.

Question I have been stuck in transit phase of the Visa application for sometime now. my question is do I fill out ds-160 and then pay the visa fee or will I just have to wait patiently until that status changes to ready to move to the next step?? I ask since now we can schedule our own interview dates in the Dominican Republic.

    Thank you.

  7. It does look more efficient and smoother now.. I appreciate the updates.. Would like to see how quick the interview could be..

I saw another user post that they had everything from 2 weeks in advance for interviews but yes I will post as soon as i am able to book the date. Random question would you happen to know how long we have before entering USA after visa has been issued?

  8. You can enter the case number on the CEAC status page - https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

In Transit means it is in the process of being transferred to your consulate. Once it changes to 'Ready' - that means the consulate has received your case and is now awaiting your next steps... DS-160, visa payment, medical results, etc... Some consulates require medical exam results before scheduling your interview. Others allow you to schedule your own. You will have to check on your specific consulate's processes beyond that.

Be sure to select 'immigrant visa' on the CEAC status page.. K-1 is a hybrid but the international embassies consider it immigrant. Then input the case number AAAxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you for your reply and useful information it was right on point as far as the CEAC website It says in Transit so I will just wait for it to be Ready. i will now check on the consulate home page to see if i am able to schedule our interview after Ds-160 form

    again thank you.

  9. I was wondering the same thing.. I am also going through DR.. I read on the DR embassy page that they follow the new way of doing things where you fill in the DS160 online and toy have to pay the fee at the Banco there and then that's when you get a receipt for the medical and you are able to book the interview at the visa center AND the consulate.. So look into that. I'm curious to see how it goes with you as I will be following the same steps.. Good luck and congrats!

@skins4lyfe thank you for your reply. Yes I just checked the Dr Consulate page the new system sounds very promising and efficient. I will keep posted with how things are working along the process..

  10. You will need this case number when you are going to fill out your DS-160, book your medical and ask any questions from the Consulate.

You can also go on the https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/website to track the progress of your case. It will go from NVC, to In Transit, and then will finally say Ready.

I believe you also need the case number to schedule your biometrics appointment.

Dohan Thank you so much for the super fast reply its greatly appreciated I will go to the website now again thank you

  11. hi all quick question what do I do with the case number given to me by the NVC agent? I just called today and was told my case left yesterday to the Dominican Republic Consulate. I am just curious as to who else I have to get a hold on to check if the consulate received our petition? thank you for the help it's greatly appreciated.
