Thanks so much for the input guys! I feel much better now. I am not subject to the 2 year home residence requirement, I don't know why but it's clearly stated on my Visa....one less problem to think about!

I'm Italian, I'm currently on a J1 visa and I also filed for adjustment of status but I was wondering if it was possible to switch to consular processing. I misread the visa bulletin and though my interview would be scheduled earlier than it would actually be (my CN is EU00036XXX). I might have left the US by then unless I apply for OPT. I really don't know what to do. Any tips?
