Just like most of you, I also got 18-months extension letter, after getting my 10-year green card. As the post above aptly says, "Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.."

I am sorry. I should have updated about my case earlier. Was traveling and couldn't get through updating you all.
My NOA was Feb 10th 2017. I filed jointly with my husband.
Case got transferred to Texas Service Centre in April 2018.
I got approved on 16th July, 2018. Got approval letter in 2 days and green card in 7 days after status changed online.
    I am a CSC filer.
    Haven't filed for N-400 yet.

I wish everyone who are remaining to hear positive response soon. I filed without a lawyer and it was possible only through the amazing detailed feedback from this group. Seeing so many people helping each other in this tough journey was really motivating....

Went to India on vacation for 4 weeks and returned to the US yesterday. I had no issue entering the US with an expired GC and an extension letter.

    Port of Entry: Chicago.

CBP officer asked me the following questions:

    1) What was the purpose of travel?

    2) Was there any issue in getting your conditional Green Card?

    3) When did you get your GC?

    4) When did you file petition to remove conditions on residence?

    5) Are you still married to the same person?

Hi, I am also planing to travel to India in some time. Which airport did you come from? Mumbai/Delhi?

They check the documents in India too. Was there no issue with expired Green Card and Extension Letter from Indian authorities? Were they aware of this extension letter purpose?

On April 14, 2017, we ordered your new card. It sounds like approve .

I was worried as I only submitted one piece of paper along with application. My doughters birth certificate. I guess it was good enough.

    Good luck everyone.

Did you send just one evidence, ie your daughter's birth certificate?

Nothing like joint bank statements, joint lease, utility bills, travel tickets etc. ? That's amazing that it got approved with just one evidence.

One more thing: Generally speaking of Evidence, did you guys photo copy everything, or is it acceptable to take camera pictures and print those out(in colour)/scan them.

Regarding the photos: do you use photo paper, or print them out on normal paper ? We have a great selection of  photos of us at several places we traveled to in the last two years but they are all still digital.

I would suggest do photocopies. Not sure how clear camera pictures will be.

We got our photos from Walgreens in one day and glued them on white paper, with info regarding when and where it was taken and what was the occasion.

    Hope that helps!

  5. Hi everyone,

VisaJourney always has been so helpful. I will be filing my application now. I had a question.

So when you fill your name and your spouse name in Part 1 and Part 4 respectively, it automatically fills up Part-7 and Part-8.

My problem is that I don't have a middle name. If I don't fill the middle name, my name (initials) does not automatically appear in part-7. Since my spouse has middle name, his name (initials) come up in Part-8. How did you tackle this issue?

    Please help!
