Congrats!!!
It is very interesting. What location does the oath ceremony invite letter say? Normally, for San Jose, the oath ceremony is at Campbell The Heritage Theatre

Wait 2 year and one day. After breaking your continuous resident, your time in Vietnam will be counted as 1 year. So, total counting will be 3 year 1 day. Don't worry about IO. They definitely know about this rule.
However, be prepared to answer a lot of questions about the trip that breaks your continuous residence(trip over 1 year).

we did. No issue at all

every vietnamese name is like this believe me it's a problem all the vietnamese filiers have been trying to figure out
it is truly unfortunate that the consulate mixed up your wife name like that.
In her IV application, have you entered her given name by correct order (i.e., First Middle)? I have seen some vietnameses entering their IV application 'give name' in wrong order (i.e., Middle First), so their Visa and GC having swapped First and Middle.

On the first page for the i751 it has 3 boxes for her name to be put, there is always a problem with vietnamese name because they go from Last-Middle-first instead of first middle and last. When she arrived in the usa her name is
First- P
Middle- Q
Last- N
Her Actual name is
First- Q
Middle- P
Last- N
do i just go ahead and use what the usa consulate used as her name and whats in her passport? P Q N i was told to not change anything? this is how her name is for major documents also.
On Visa, it doesn't separate first and middle. It is just last and given name. In your case,
Last: N
Given name: Q P (using her Vietnamese first and middle name)
Her green card also follows this same format.
If her visa and gc given name is 'P Q', the consulate really messed up her name. You have no choice but using this messed-up name in I-751

I am a Jan 2017 filer. My case got transfered to NSC on 4/10/18. I did receive a hard-copy letter notifying of the transfer. I just got a status change to "We are producing your card and will mail it to you" a few days ago. I haven't receive any hard-copy letter on approval.
USCIS status tracking is so crazy lately, so I don't know I should celebrate or brace for another false status.

No.
My wife had I-551 stamped a few days ago. The officer stamped, dated and wrote down gc# next to the stamp. He returned everything back to us including green card, extension letter.

Hi,
In my case the same thing happened. The letter (NOA1) only has the first letter of the name.last name
Thanks. I feel at ease now.
-
please add me to the list:
I-751 sent to CSC on 01/10
NOA1 date: 01/11
Question to who received NOA letter:
On the NOA letter, how does your name spell out?
In the address part, my last name got spelled fully and correctly, but my first name is written by the first letter. Example: the full name is "Jane Lady Doe". My NOA letter is written as "J. Doe" and below it is the address.
In Petitioner part, the name written as: "Doe, Jane L."
I am concerned about the way of first name written in the address part by using of first letter.
Is anyone NOA letter the same?

my wife will give birth to my child around Feb this year in Vietnam. I am preparing documents to apply CBRA.
I am a US citizen. My wife is a green card holder.
I read all instructions from Ho Chi Minh City Consulate here: http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/service/crba.html#3
The instruction never says sending any document or application. It just says making an appointment by using the website and bring all documents and application to the appoinment. However, I read here someone need to send application and waiting for the consulate assign an appointment.
Is there a different process by different consulate? Anyone has experience at Ho Chi Minh City consulate? Do I need to send application and document in advance to somewhere before having the appointment?
On the matter of 5 year physical presence, someone says tax return and w-2 is not accepted. However, the website list tax records as an acceptable evident.
On social security statement, SSA doesn't send out statement annually anymore. I haven't receceived it for years. I came to the office they say they don't sent it out anymore. If I need I have go to the website to print it out. I went to the website, I was able to print out the statement. However, they only show the statement of the latest year which list every years and amounts I have worked. Is the latest statement showing every year with the amounts of each year is good enough?

Congrats, can I ask you how long till you get ur interview day since CC? And the interview date is a month before the schedule?
I received the interview letter (P4 letter) about 20 days after case completed.
The interview date is scheduled about a month from the date receiving of the P4.
Just read dwheels spreadsheet on my nick to get precise date.
Btw, someone receive P4 letter next day. In my case, it took a week to receive P4 letter after they schedule interview date.

Conglations, right now only white papers no more pink papers, don't worry just wait for visa send to your wife home.
phewwww...Thank you very much for the clarification.
In the approval notice, it says going to ustraveldocs.com to register the mailing address to receive the visa. However, they already asked her to fill out the mailing address in some kind of forms after the interview and saying she will receive through postal mail in about 2 week.
I am confused about ustraveldocs.com. Do you have any experience on it?

My wife just got approved at the interview at Ho Chi Minh City Consulate, Vietnam
Thanks all for your sharing knowledge and support
BTW, after getting approval, they gave her the approval notice. It's a white piece of paper. I read from some vietnamese forums that the approval notice is pink. Why is hers white? Does the color of paper mean anything?

No, NVC won't make corrections. Even if you case was still processing, they would tell you to ask CO correct it for you at the interview.

I called and spoke with Jim, told me to expect a checklist email today or tomorrow. He said the death certificate submitted didn't pass their review. He said I have to get another original, I told him that's the original death certificate. He said he will have to pull the file again and pass it on for a supervisor review. I asked if I can talk to a supervisor he said FOR WHAT? He said I should call back in a week and half.
Am so devastated :crying: I couldn't stop crying and he just told me to call back next week. :crying:
oh, noooo. so sorry. it's heart-broken to hear it. I can't believe NVC always finds a way to screw us.
