  1. Hey all! I know this is probably deep in this website but I could use some help & would appreciate any guidance!

My fiance should be arriving this month and as soon as he gets here we would like to get his driver's license and submit all paperwork for the AOS & then start our month long honeymoon road tripping across the US :) (See why license is so important!?)

I read the SS application guide and seem a bit lost on where to find the exact piece that says that K1 visas are ALLOWED to get the SS number with work related approval:

--- SSN K-1 Authorization: This file is an notice to all SSA offices that authorizes any valid K-1 holder to be issued a SSN. You do NOT need a EAD to get a SSN while you have a vaild K-1. Bring this memo with you! Not all offices are aware that you can be issued a SSN and they may tell you that you need an EAD!---

Any help as to where I could find this would be fantastic, thank you all!

  2. Hey I was wondering about this too, I see that all of you are saying W2 from 2014 what about from this year (filed 2015?)

I studied abroad for the past four years and I haven't filed a tax claim for any of those years BUT i did this year... anyone know how to go about amending this? Its crazy I know, looking back I should have at least filled something out but I didn't so now I am trying to see how it is/may affect me now....

    Thanks :)

  3. It says the same thing for me too! I was wondering what that meant, I have been calling the NVC at all hours of the day and the line always goes to an automated message saying that it is busy and call back later. (later is always busy too though!)

When I spoke to someone at the USCIS they said it could take from 30-90 days for it to be processed at the NVC...my NOA2 days that it will be EXPIRED in June 2015... ?! Why do they put an expiration date on these things??!!!!

I haven't heard if it has been received/assigned a bin/number etc. for 2 weeks now... any info would be helpful!

    Thanks!!

  4. Hey!

So I have been reading around on this site for months and after almost 7 months we finally got our approved NOA2! Needless to say we are eager to put an end to the waiting game and I am trying to figure out about how much longer this is going to take...

I see that some timelines have bin number, case number, left center etc. I am wondering where you got that information? I am signed up for the emails/texts and I check my case on the website for updates but so far it says that my case was sent to the NVC, about 2 weeks ago.

Anything would really help! Thanks and good luck to everyone else, its almost over!!

  5. De3wcfan I feel for you!!! I see that you are 45 days away from your due date and I can only imagine your frustration, we have the same NOA1 date... we have to be next!! Keep your head up & stay strong!

Got a letter in the mail from the USCIS earlier this week and was soooooo excited. I really thought it was my NOA2. Nope!! Instead it was a letter regarding my inquiry basically just stating even though you think you're outside our processing time, you're not. We are still within our processing time......so just wait longer! These people are really getting on my last nerve here! This is just total BS that we are now six months out and they say just wait longer!

    CONGRATS!!!!

  6. Called the helpline from the USCIS site and they told me that Texas was processing dates as of May 6th... they told me we were still within normal time range and that nothing could be done, only to be patient. VJ community has been way more helpful and informative than them... OH and to speak to an officer... it was a 96 min wait... I tried to fill out an inquiry online and it wouldn't let me, automatically denied it from being submitted bc of July timeline... :( feeling hopeless...

  7. Hey! So I am kinda confused as to what the estimated time means. When I originally saw that it said Feb. 2nd for us does that mean when our significant other will have their visa in hand? or does that mean that is when the center will finally get around to our packet and process it for the NOA2?

    Also, I keep seeing the

    Processing Dates

    for Common Forms:

which makes me think that ppl with June 20th NOA1 are being processes right now at the TSC? ?? Does this make sense to anyone else?

  8. Wow I am glad to see others are feeling like I am! When we filed I had *optimistically* hoped that this would be a done deal by November and we could have a wedding over the winter break... clearly I didnt want to admit that this was going to take what feels like forever...

So my questions is now, when it says Feb 2nd on the time processing website does that mean they will get around and respond with the NOA2 by then? or will this horrid ordeal be over with by 2/2?

Thanks & keep your heads up everybody!!! One day less!!!

  9. Hey to everyone!

We sent our application out on July 16th and got our NOA1 on July 21st! Our status online has been changed to Initial Review and we are being processed at the Texas Center...

Anyone else feeling like this is taking forever??? I hate being away from my finacee... has anyone thought about having their significant other come visit? We are worried about him getting denied entry ( which would be soul crushing)....

    Thoughts & (opinions are welcomed!

  10. Hey!

Thank you for all of the interesting stories and positive feedback! My fiancee is going to try and visit this October and we are worried about him getting denied. He is from Spain. We received our NOA1 on July 21st 2014 but it was sent to the Texas Processing Center, which looks a bit backed up. We want for him to come visit for two months while we are waiting but we wanted to get opinions on a few topics:

1.How long he should stay? We want him to stay for 80 days but more importantly we don't want him to be denied so does anyone recommend a shorter visit?

    2. What should he bring with him to the POE?
    - K1 Visa info

    - Return ticket

    - travelers insurance receipt

Since he is self employed and just graduated college do you think of anything he could bring to prove he will be going back? He currently lives with his mom, so no lease.

    3. Dressing for POE- Business?

Thanks for all of your wisdom, insight and help in advance!

    Saludos,

    Lauren & David
