  1. Ok from reading these posts I am now worried ive forgotten to do some stuff lol. I Had the medical on the 31st, have sent in my readiness form and the 160 and have been waiting patiently for 2 weeks now for an interview date lol ,

But do I have to pay the fees first? Online? And how long an amount of notice do they give you of your interview date as I will have to book flights to get to London from Northern ireland

  2. Yeah you will get your vaccination sheet at the end once you pay them, they give it back to you with your passport and police certificate :) . Don't worry, it's more just a bunch of waiting around more than anything else. I was in a few days ago and I think I was waiting for over an hour and with the xray for five mins and the doctor for maybe ten lol. Take a good book with you :) good luck

  3. I had my exam on the 31st of October and the doctor told me before we started that there was no breast exam anymore, they were now just required to take my temperature instead. I was topless during her check of my skin but that was it, she didn't check breasts at all

Also I have fibromyalgia and I told her this at the interview and told her I was managing it well with my medication and it made no difference to her. She was happy enough that I was managing.

  4. Ok so I just had my medical in London for my K1 visa and I couldn't really find any info online to help me prepare for this so I was quite nervous. I thought I would write a post on here just so anyone else about to go through it has an idea of what to expect.

I arrived at the medical place which was a plain building with no writing on it outside except when u went up the steps the buttons for each floor had the practices name on it so I pressed it and the door was opened from inside.

I went across the hall and went in another door and on the right was a hole in the wall with a receptionist sitting there.

Told her I was there for a K1 medical and she asked for my documents. These were

    Police certificate

    Proof of vaccinations

    Passport

    1 passport photo

Online medical questionnaire requested by doctor

Then I was given a clip board with a quick medical form to fill in, all straight forward health questions which I returned to the desk and then it was a 20 minute wait.

I was then called by a lovely man for an X-ray. He gave me a robe and told me to take off my top and bra behind a curtain and put the robe on. Then he positioned me standing up in front of a machine (robe kept on all the time) and this took about 39 seconds. He then checked the xray had come out clearly and told me to gather my things and he took me to a female waiting room. Still in the robe I then sat waiting for about half an hour u til a female doctor came to get me for the rest of the medical.

She then started with an eye test, then she checked my height and weight were correct on the form I filled in and asked me to lie on the bed. She then checked my skin all over back and arms and legs, asked a load of health questions ie have u ever taken drugs, misused alcohol etc . Then she took my blood pressure and did a quick external check of genitals( this was just looking , no instruments involved) and then she took some bloods. All very quick and professional and she was very friendly.

Then I got dressed again out of the robe and she walked me back to the waiting room I was in at the start and about five mins later the receptionist came and got me. I paid £245 for the medical and xray and then was given a form validation my vaccinations (keep this safe as it is needed for the AOS) and a receipt for the payment with a form with frequently asked questions.

All in all it took about an hour 15 mins but it was mostly waiting about. Mine was on a Friday and I was told I could email them the following Wednesday to get all results of tests but if I wasn't worried it was a case of no news is good news.

They would then send the results on to the embassy which would be 4 working days from them receiving the results.the doctor who does your medical does not read the xray, it is sent out to another doctor to check.

I hope someone finds this helpful and fingers crossed my results are all ok :)

  5. Ok so I received a letter from the U.S. embassy in London this morning saying that they have received my approved petition and that the next step is to complete "additional forms and collect documentation" it gives me a web site with list on it of what forms I need but I am unsure now if this means I am allowed to book my medical ? Or do I have to wait for another letter from the embassy? I can't send in a notice of readiness to proceed until I have a medical set up and a date for it. Hoping someone can help .

  6. Hey was just wondering is there any way you can speed things up by getting the medical exam out of the way earlier or do you have to wait until you have your proper alien number and everything? I heard there is a month wait for an interview date in London once getting to that stage so wondered if I could speed this up by doing the medical while I wait to get to that stage? Also I don't want all of this dragging into December and having to fly over to London twice around Xmas
