  1. For those who are in the US through marriage, I have a CR-1 visa and was told I need to remove the conditions 90 days before our second anniversary (which is this december).. Can I fill out the I-751 now or do I have to wait closer to the date we got married?..

I moved here April 2015, and in my passport the visa expires Sept of this year, the guard said i'll receive my green card before this etc etc, but he still mentioned that I have to file that I-715 paperwork to remove conditions since its before our 2 year wedding anniversary.

Did I miss something? Was the guard wrong? Our lawyer didn't tell us the most expensive paperwork is when i'm already moved here! :(

  2. Hey everyone! Just wondering how long it took for everyones SSN to come in the mail once you entered at port of entry? I checked off the box in my application at the beginning of all of this, and I remember it saying about 3 weeks, just wondering--and hoping-- if its possible to get it way faster than that?

I went in to get my drivers license and they need the SSN first. blah. Any info would be great!

  3. Hey guys! thanks for all the advice so far!

Im just looking over packet 4 instructions for before the interview.

When I read the list of what to bring, i'm wondering what these are about:

Copy of the U.S. petitioner status in the USA & Copies of documents proving petitioner’s U.S. domicile

Did everyone bring something like this to the interview?

Would my husbands bills, drivers license be examples of these?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. I finally got my interview date!!! April 13th :)

I know it states if you have a police clearance within the same year, that would be sufficient.

BUT, has any one been told to get another one just in case?

I have one from August 2014.

Just wanted to touch all bases so i dont miss anything at all!

  5. Hey everyone!

Just wanted to get everyones experience with this..

how many times did you have to send in new tax returns/affidavits?

We filed back January 2014, we sent in the previous 3 years with the beginning of paperwork, then this year we had to send in new ones.

We had some mistakes on the most recent, and then they lost one as well, so we're finally getting the return/affidavit approved as we speak.

my worry is.. there going to ask for a new return again and another affidavit for this year!?

We're in the last stage and just need this affidavit approved in order to get our interview date.

    What do you all think?

  6. Mine is scheduled for Feb 10, and is still on as far as I know. They better not change it, as I am in Montreal now.

Aw, lucky! :) good luck! If you're there already im sure you're good to go!!!

I just had another girl tell me they cancelled hers, then rescheduled it twice after that.. just kinda nervous for that happening now! argh!

  7. Hey All,

has anyone experienced NVC losing your documents?

I sent in a revised Affidavit that was received, according to USPS tracking, on Dec 22, even with the holidays, I have called in once every week since then, and they said they still have no received it and keep mentioning its busier with the holidays etc.

I am completely upset. Even more so because it takes forever just to get an agent and then to be told they still don't have our paperwork which delays our process even more! :(

  8. I'm crossing tomorrow to head back to Kelowna for the last time. (Yippee!)

Would it be worthwhile to visit the U.S. border guards office before crossing to ask for advice? I half think it would be a waste of time because I'm not sure I've ever run into the same guard twice.

I'm not close to moving yet, but I asked the border guard and he told me to list every.single.thing.

But from what everyone else posted, it doesn't seem to be the case that they actually NEED it that way.

    Good luck, you'll be fine!

  9. Thanks for all the experiences!

I guess i'll just make a simple list and let them search if they want to.

From all of your stories, seems like they don't like the hassle or going through a whole truck of belongings lol

I have nothing to hide, so i'll do it the easy way :)

  10. Hey everyone!

What has everyones experience been when moving your belongings to the US once you're able to?

I asked the American border guard this weekend on the details, I asked " if I have 5 pencils, do I have to write on the manifest pencils or specify its 5 pencils?"

He said, I have to note everything to that detail.

    Sounds a bit crazy! :/

Let me know what your experiences were!

  11. Today I tried calling NVC, I get through, then on hold for about 2 minutes before being disconnected, tried at least 10 times with same results, happening to anyone else today??

  12. I sent away all documents the NVC, they sent an email saying they got all my stuff and it will take 60 days to review.

I read that once you go to the intervew (mines in montreal) you'll need to have photocopies of all documents!

I have some of my marriage cert, but I'm worried about my birth cert and police cert.

Will they deny me for this? Can't they just keep my originals? Should I be worrying!?

  13. Sure!

Read through both of these links.

Saylin's wiki linked first, has good information on EP (electronic processing) which is what you're referring to. And yes, you would take the original documents to the interview. If you don't do EP, you send originals plus photocopies so that you receive the originals back at the inteview, and they keep the photocopies.

    hey there!

I sent all my documents through snail mail, but I didn't send copies along with the originals?! Do you think this will delay the process?

Can't they just photocopy them! I Sure hope so! :)

  14. once nvc approves all documents, how soon do they usually schedule the interview?

Also, It says in a forum on here you must bring all original documents to the interview, but I sent all my original documents to NVC?

What is the proper step for this?>
