  1. I don't have an exact date on when this started, but they're a number of changes in the Visa Interview Process.

    1) The Embassy is no longer using Banco Popular. The entire $265us must be paid at the Embassy on the day of your Cita/interview.

    2) The Embassy is no longer using DomEx for their visa courier service. They will be using a New "un-named" courier service starting in November.

    3) The Visa Medical Facility is now requiring (although it's not on their website) 5 passport pictures (2x2 size) for your medical exam instead of 3.

    4) I know recently people have been having a difficult time getting visa information from DOS/NVC for their upcoming interviews. On November 12, there will be a new number to call and website to check your visa status.

    829-956-5144 (Dominican Republic) or 703-988-3410 (U.S.). (both are toll-free)

    and/or

I will continue to update the Dom Rep NOA2 page and Dom Rep Country Info page as I receive new information.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Wow. Thanks a lot for this. Ive read some people are sying that medical needs 6 pictures not 5. What it is the truth. I would say whatever is on the embassy website. Also, the $265 will be payed all at once so no need to split the payment in banco popular correct. The reason im asking is because the website does not mention banco popular but I guess thats what they are trying to say. Thanks again
  2. Thank you!!! Uummmm TOMORROW!!!!, also check CEAC if status update date has changed this means your file was entered into their system. In my case this happened last week Thursday. So I couldn't contain myself today when I started to view the updates in the VJ timelines for DR And noticed new December interview dates, which was not the case last week. Sure enough, I got my date!!!

Good luck to you and definitely call tomorrow!

Wowowow! U just got me hyped! A couple of questions for you if you dont mind.

    1. What thread from DR is that that you receive updates from. I did not see anyone mentioning december interview dates.

    2. should I email instead or nah? i emailed last week and received a response this morning. The said no date has been set up :(

  3. Good Evening all:

Just an update, I called the DR Consulate this afternoon and was given our interview date for 12/15/14!!!! So excited anxious and nervous all at the same time.. Now it's time for my due diligence and organize all my documents to be well prepared.

Wishing you all the best of luck and hoping for those of you still waiting to get good news really soon!!!

I will continue to update my timeline as we are now waiting for packet #4 to arrive to my fiancé

Wow! I am very happy for you! December 15th is right around the corner. Good luck gathering paperwork and keep us posted. Im praying to get a date soon since my case arrived there a day after yours. When do you think I should call?

  4. Hi guys,

Ive been reading your responses on this thread and I can actually relate too. Im a prospective college student and never filed taxes. My parents claim me under theirs. (I have a cosponsor whom meets requirements. However, I recently got a job which pays me enough to meet the annual income requirement. Is it possible that i can use my income for affidavit even if I dont have tax returns and just started? Can I provide other proof and would it work? Ive been in for 1 month.

  5. Awesome! I am trying my best to help you :)

-Exactly your parents unfortunately don't make enough so they have nothing to do with your case.(same thing happened to me).

-Yes two forms; one for you including the letter I suggested and one form for the co-sponsor and supporting documents.

-Yes, I think that base on affidavit both K1 and CR1 are similar.

Great! You have no idea how appreciated I am. I will start working on all that and will get back to you if I have any other questions. I am trying to follow your steps as you were practically in my same shoes!. Its pretty much the same and I was so confused but you have cleared my mind. Thanks again please don’t forget about me. lol. Have a great day talk to you soon. :dancing:

  6. I know what u mean......everything was going slow and seemed to be taking forever...now the ball is rolling fast..thank God for it all thou. Everything in his time. I still have to mail out the necessary documents to my fiancè. Hope he gets them before his interview???. Cutting it close.

That ball is flying. SO in what stage are you?. You have a date or nah? I need to send my fiancee documents as well.

im not sleeping tonight. So how many more weeks do you guys think from the day the embassy recives the package until interview.

  7. -Parents taxes don't count they don't make enough.

-You don't need to provide tax returns from your parents because they claim you.

I did complete an affidavit of support form you must file one even if you make 0 because you are the primary sponsor and your co-sponsor needs one too. (That's what I did).

You can write a letter as a mentioned before and also you can request from the IRS the letter of non-fliing by sending

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf you should mark with an X #7...part 9 write the years such as 2011, 2012, 2013 for the most recent years.

Keep in mind that I did CR1 not K1 so for some questions I might not know the answer, however if I do know I will reply ASAP.

Thanks so much. I love how u answered my questtions straight to the point. Ok so I really dont need my parents taxes transcripts. In other words, my parents will have nothing to do with this process( affidavit). Correct ?

However, accompanying my affidavit, i will include a letter that will explain the reason why i dont have tax returns because my parents claim me as their dependents. That i am college student blah bla. Also, one i134 for my csponsor with all his supporting documentation. So in total, 2 forms. I know you did i130 not k1 but i think this is similar.

  8. I never filed taxes, my parents claimed me as well but they didn't make enough to sponsor my husband. What I did was I had a joint sponsor and I wrote a letter stating that I am a college student and never work neither pay taxes blah blah. Hope this help...

Helps a lot actually . Woah! Im so glad someone went through the same thing - I beg you to keep up with me. Although your response helped, i do have specific questions regardings the forms and documentation you provided. Below are my concerns. Any response would be appreciated.

*there are three people in this loop. My co-sponsor, My parents and myself. right.

    1. Out of the 3 Who has to fill out i134 ? (Im thinking all)

    2. My parents file joint taxes. Will i be filling one form for them and attaching the tax returns?

    3. If i have to fill a form for my self- what proof am i submiting (besides that letter you suggested)

Bottom line is. My parents tax returns will just be added to indicate that I am claimed as a dependant and dont have my own or will the be considering that as a sponsoring?

  9. No Problem, I am more than happy to share any information in order to help any one in this torturous process. The worst part is waiting!!! UGHH!

YES! ITS THE WORST. I just called the NVC and surprisingly enough, I only waited 12 minutes to speak with someone. A very nice lady told me that the package was sent to DR yesterday 10/14/14. (as i supposed). However, she told me that I should check back next week :crying: which is an eternity since you have already shared how quickly your case was sent. I wish we could all run with the same luck. but I am grateful everything is moving smoothly. So question- what exactly is your next step now that you know that DR has your case? :secret:

  10. So not that I'm unappreciative, but I found it odd for CEAC status to change from "In Transit" to "Ready" in just two days. So I spent my $7 and called the consulate in DR, they don't have my file in the system yet. Not surprised at all.

But here is some useful information for you guys while waiting. I read older threads on how to track packages leaving NVC to different country consulates and it worked!!!! My file was arriving today according to DHL track, so I thought you should try:

Go to DHL Website, click on tracking, then "tracking by reference"

Enter EXP 08 OCT 2014A (my ship date according to NVC)

You are able to track packages leaving within time frames

Select your country or leave blank then click on track, when I left blank a list of waybills appeared from NVC TO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND WHEN I chose my country, only one package appeared and actually picked up on the 9th (not the 8th as I was told) and arriving to DR this eve.

So, you guys should try this and post your findings....

    Hi jtoro70,

Hope everything is going great for you.

I had asked a while ago about tracking on dhl since my case says "in transit since 10/14 afternoon. I tried your instructions but couldn't get anywhere.

What do I enter on the Shipper's reference blank box?

  11. I got the msg on Oct 9th when they mailed it. I called that same night. I haven't contacted the embassy yet but I did track the package and it was received and signed for Oct 13th. I also got in the mail today a letter from NVC stating they mailed the petition. Now fiancè is waiting for 1st packet with instructions.

Just wondering how did you track the package? I know someone explained it earlier in this thread but I tried and no luck.

  12. You need to give it about 10 to 15 days after approval and call the NVC AFTER . They will let you know if they have the file or not. If nt, just keep caling everyday until they do and provide you with your case number. From what ive read here i think average time for them to receive is 15-20 days. The received mine in 18 days

  13. That is an automatic message. For k-1 the embassy schedules the interview. You will have to wait a few weeks after the status changes to ready for you to receive your interview. You can either call the embassy or email them! good luck!

Thanks a lot stefani. By when do you think they will receive the case after today? Does it take long to change to ready

  14. I got the same msg when I called they said you get ur interview date from the embassy. I guess its a generic msg. But u can call NVC just to verify may be different depending on embassy it's going to.

Ok thanks. Did you call to the embassy to figure out . Were they able to provide you with a date and also, when did you get the message and have u gotten any other update?
