Hi I applied for 3 weeks expedited passport on
4/8/15
check not cashed yet
-
filed on 10/16/14, had an oath on 4/8/15
my husband filed 9/22/15, had an oath on 4/3/15
-
just FYI
found the online passport application form which does not allow me to continue to the next page if I do not fill in the required fields and the parent's info is required
-
in my and my husbands' case the naturalization certificate had the picture taken during the fingerprinting, not the one we sent when we filed N-400

just had my interview on Tuesday.
we filed 2014 tax 2 weeks ago, so I brought copies of our tax return did not have 2014 transcript, the IO just asked me if we paid tax and I said yes.
But if she wanted to see the papers, I had the paperwork with me.

had the following (actually all of it were originally speeding tickets but since I paid on time, it got changed to lesser offense):
06/25/13Speeding 5-9miles Fee paid
12/28/2011 Broken headlamp Fee paid
4/26/2010 Turn signal required Fee paid
when pplying for N-400, I stated the above on the form
had an interview on 4/3/15, the IO did not even ask about it, (if he did I had my paperwork proving that I paid the fines with me)

Are there any parts on the application that are not mandatory?
We are in a process of filling in the passport application and wonder if it is mandatory to answer the question about parents. This does not seem to be relevant as we just became US citizens and the parents info was not even a part of N-400 application.

it's actually only $30 if applying for the first time along with a book
-
Thanks,
the reason why I was hesitant is that I have my interview in just few days and do not want any glitch with it if I file the change of address form now.

If all goes well and we pass the interview in few days, we will be applying for the US passport. (Here in Denver the oath is on the same day as the interview).
We will apply for passport book( for air travel) AND the passport card.
The reason for the passport card would be to use it as a form of proof that we are now citizens.
The real question is: is the passport card recognized as a proof of citizenship, should any official agencies need us to show them the proof.
As it is quite expensive to replace the Naturalization certificate we would prefer to pay extra $40 for the card and use that as a citizenship proof.
thank you

We moved within the same city 4 weeks ago, it was all in rush and did not have a chance to file the form to inform INS yet.
All our mail goes to the POBox, so we got the interview notification there without any issues.
My interview is on Friday and I do not want to lie to the officer when he asks if anything changed since filing N-400.
What's the best course of action ? should we still file quickly the change of address with INS or should we leave it as it is as let the IO know verbally about the change of address?
thank you

on a side note - we were asked To bring the expired passports, which we can not as it is requirement of our country to return the passport once we pick up the new one. We hope this will not be a problem to prove the travel as we have exact travel dates for the last 5 years.

thanks for the replies, I wonder if I can travel on my current EU passport, with the citizenship certificate posing as a proof on my US citizenship, should I ran into any issues getting US passport in time?
-
We will have a business trip abroad right in the time frame few days after our Interview and Oath date. It is my understanding that they will take away my green card right after the oath.
I have a business trip abroad within few days after the oath and just do not know what to do.- travel on my EU passport, but without the green card I can not get back to US.
Any suggestion is very appreciated.

Hello Denver filers!
-
called the customer service, all they said was, that they will make a note about not receiving the biometrics notice.
I have not received any useful information confirming/denying that the biometrics notice has been even mailed from them.
any suggestions on the best course of action?
thank you very much for the advice.
-
N 400 application was mailed on 9/20/14, NOA received on 9/29/14 but no biometrics appointment letter ever arrived to date.
Other filers from the same time frame are done with their fingerprinting.
What should I do?
thank you.

I am at the final stages of the N400 assembly and one thing I am not clear on, is where to place the additional pages.
Example: In part 8, item 3. I ran out of lines while listing the international travel in last 5 years, I had to create an additional page, where I listed the remaining trips.
Where do I place this additional page, right after page 7 (on which the part 8 is listed) or in the end, which is after page 21?
thank you.

thanks for the replies.

interesting find, thank you for posting.
above I mean to say that there are not many Denver filers here on Visajourney site
Trip with 2 passports to South America, which passport to show the airlines?
in Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen
Posted
I am dual citizen of US and Czech Republic (EU). Will travel to Bolivia, where US citizen has to pay $135 for visa while EU has free visa.
Based on my readings when checking in the US for the flight with destination Bolivia, I will show the airline my EU passport. (and when checking in Bolivia onto US headed flight I will present the airline with my US passport).
So here’s the catch, that I can not solve on my own When I used to have a green card, the airline always wanted to know how I will get back to the US, so upon the check in to travel OUT of the US, I had to show them the green card (and of course I had to show the green card upon boarding the US headed plane).
If I leave US on my EU passport and the airline asks me how do I plan to return back to the US, what do I do? Tell them I have two passports ?
Thank you!
