Just give them time to finish their work on your case, looks good that they are satisfied with the papers you submitted.

My husband was in Ap, he already got his visa , but we had requested the passport back at one point during AP, and they gave it within a week
Any update is a good sign, it means someone is working with your file, there is no time limit, on how fast the embassy works once they receive your documents, it is all a waiting game, hope for the best.

Thank u for the congratulations! it took my hubby one month from medical to the day he went for fingerprints, they gave him the medical after two days and he submitted the same day, after that it took the embassy 3 weeks to schedule him to come in but this is because Eid holidays came in and the embassy was closed for 3 days so it all depends. they can call sooner or later. U have to pick the doctor that is approved by the embassy in the list they provide on the embassy website, I dont know much about karachi because my husband got his medical done in islamabad.
It takes 2-3 days to issue medical report, After you get the report , you submit that and two photos and the cofirmation page of the ds260 to the american express office and they forward it to the embassy, in our case i did both, i submitted the barcode via email and print out. i would submit the barcode as soon as the medical is ready thats what we did. Yes we send the documents via amex courier.
It takes one day for the documents to get delivered to the embassy and then few more days to enter it in their system. Some people get called within a week after submitting everything, we had to wait 3 weeks due to eid holidays.
on the day of the fingerprints, you take your id card with you or passport if the embassy does not have it, it is a 5 mins procedure, the embassy staff tells you if your case is approved or still in AP. you do not have to take picture or more evidence, when they call you they will tell you if they need anything else. but it is just fingerprint procedure. It is just oath and fingerprints. They ask to come in from 10 until 12pm, anytime between this time, they asked my hubby to come at 10. The whole process at the embassy takes 5 mins if there is not a lot of people. it goes quick.
No need to apologize, feel free to ask anytime best of luck! you can look at my timeline in my signature on all the updates i got and what the time frame was.

The update I got yesterday ( sep 17) was an email the embassy sent my local senator's office to remind us again about how to submit the medical/ds260. I have had my local senator communicating the embassy for the past several months so any major update, the embassy writes to the senators office and they forward it to me so that is what yesterdays update was about. The embassy asked me to submit the barcode number to them from the ds260 via email so I just got done doing that.
Today my husband submitted his medical and two photos to the embassy so lets see when they schedule him for fingerprints.

Today after one year exact from my husband's interview, my husband got an emaiil to send a new medical and ds260 and he will be called in for new fingerprints and oath.
I will beleive it all when i see the visa in hand, but a big relief. It feels like i can see a little light at the end of this long and dark tunnel

What carolyn said
You will be hearing something soon from the embassy, like they can ask you for fresh documents or maybe come in again for another interview.
I seriously think these long APs the embassy staff just forgets the file and it just sits there.

august 13 was my last update , I had asked through senator office for embassy to review my file again, and tell me if they need my proof of relationship again as i have sent them everything i have from day one of my relation with my husband, i made formal complaint and asked if they lost my proof of relation or do they have it and if it is satisfactory, they are working on it seems so i am waiting for reply.
inshaALLAH u will get visa very very soon!

Wow, I guess I will let go of that idea that just because I am a U.S. citizen, i hold any special consideration, The least that can help is to have administrative processing have a limit, like lets say a maximum a year no more then that, why are people who applied in 2011 2012 2013 2014 still waiting for visas and they are in the spouse categories. With USCIS atleast they give you a timeframe on when your application will be improved, background checks are done there too, but they do it in a timely manner, once it gets to the embassy level, its all luck after that to get it done.
No matter how you look at it, the immigration system is broken in this country where illegals are given priority over people who are doing this process from the start in a legal way.
I am so done after this whole experience, never want to see or hear about an embassy/uscis or immigration.

Walikam Salam
I am glad to see your doing well, Your interview was so long ago, they need updated fingerprints for their records plus since your greencard will be made now, they always need fingerprints for that purpose.
Your getting your visa real soon insha Allah! good news

So I wrote a letter on the White House page comments, I am sharing what I wrote here because I think it expresses the sentiments and frustrations that everyone is going through on visa journey. I will copy and paste it here.
Hello, My name is Sarah and I am a U.S. citizen born and raised in this country. I got married almost two years ago in Pakistan and have been struggling to get my husband to the U.S. since 2013.
My husband has already had his interview at the embassy last year in Islamabad U.S. embassy.and another interview this week.
I am desperate and physically and mentally ill at this point because the U.S.embassy has been giving us the most difficult time ever, they display extremely rude behavior to the applicants there and show no courtesy or respect to people who are trying to lawfully immigrate to the U.S. what kind of reflection does this show on part of the United States to foreigners coming for the first time to the land of freedom, where people do not discriminate, and citizens in the United States are free to live and let live.
The embassy is continuously trying to give us a hard time, by asking for requirements we keep providing them and they ask us for more and more when we have given them everything we are suppose to obtain a visa.
I have been separated from my husband for two years, how am I suppose to live my life and start my family when the U.S. embassy fails to do their duty in a timely manner, they take forever to review anything you send them
is there anyone keeping an eye on them and their work? I feel that my husband and I are being repeatedly discriminated against, just because he comes from a country where there is a lot of problems but that should not reflect or impact our marriage.
We are law abiding citizens who are struggling in this country and immigration process has only added agony and frustration.
I wrote this, i dont know how much it help but atleast I know somewhere this will be read. We should at least raise our voices for our loved ones.

Yes! I just read that it is a good sign! I hope really soon, they will have to work fast on cases now as they cannot get back logged on cases.
It is crazy, the people who are waiting more then six months are still being put on hold and people who are coming with new cases, they are getting first priority before the older cases..
