hi guys, so I went to the DVM today to get my driver's license started, but the DMV people seemed confused over what codes to use to get me my paperwork. In the end, I ended up getting a paper that states that I require another driver over 18 to accompany me at all times/?? - essentially a learner's permit. I am pretty sure this is wrong. I know we have to do a driving test, which I will book, but I think it is wrong to give someone who has had a driving license for > 18 years a learner's permit. How am I going to get to work?
Do you guys think this is wrong or do all of you get "learner's permits" when you await your driving test?
help! M
I was a licensed driver in Ontario when I moved to California. I had to take the written test and the road test in California before a license was issued. It definitely wasn't a learner's permit. I was able to drive with my Ontario license until the CA license was issued. This was about 20 years ago. Not sure if laws have changed.

My wife (beneficiary) inadvertently clicked on the Choice Of Agent form this morning but didn't make any modifications and it now shows INCOMPLETE.
The DS-261 was reviewed in early June. We mailed in the IV fee and submitted the DS-260 this past Sunday when the systems were restored. The supporting documents were sent in about a month ago.
Last night I noticed the AOS fee status changed from PAID to N/A. I haven't called NVC to verify if we have a CC. Our case still shows 3 N/As including the AOS fee status even after the DS-261 status changed to INCOMPLETE.
Does anyone think we have an issue now that the DS-261 is showing INCOMPLETE? I don't want to draw attention to it by calling NVC to verify CC. What should I do?
I called up NVC a few minutes ago and a case specialist confirmed CC. Going into the DS-261 again didn't impact our case.
We were surprised to get CC so soon after submitting the DS-260 just this past Sunday.

Ok so roughly 24 days (3weeks+). Thanks for the info. I hope it gets sorted out.
How about your AOS? Were you able to pay that online? Coz I'm worried how will they get the barcoded coversheet if they pay by mail.
Not certain, but it seems like the automated invoicing system is broken. The links maybe manually being enabled for those of us who received the IV invoice. Just a guess.

May I ask, when you reeceived the invoice?
Also, can you see 0.00 dollars or 325 dollars (or whatever amount you need to pay) when you click on 'pay now'?
I received 2 invoice emails (same invoice ID) on Sunday June 14. The invoice dates are June 10 and June 12.
The CEAC website shows $0.00 for the invoice amount when I click on pay now.
Wondering if the fix is gradually rolled out to users? Should I wait or go ahead and pay by mail?

Hi,
Our story is the same as Toozler. We mailed a money order because we couldn,t pay online. They receives and cashed our check way before they solved the website issue.
Website issue is solved? I'm still unable to pay the IV fee after receiving the invoice.

Same here. Received the IV invoice email at 5:30 AM PT. Logged into the portal but the IV payment say $0. I did however, speak with an operator last Thursday who said it can take up to a week after DS-261 is reviewed for the IV payment to be available. Our DS-261 was reviewed on June 9. Going to give it a few more days then call NVC.
What's going on at the NVC?
I received a second IV invoice this afternoon. The first IV invoice was dated June 10. The second IV invoice was dated June 12. Both invoices arrived on Sunday about 7 hours apart.
Still no luck with the online payment system.

Hi all,
I am the petitioner and just checked my case status as the priority date is approaching. Unfortunately, processing has been suspended on Feb. 23 due to a RFE. I am currently traveling will not be returning to the U.S. until the end of March. If possible I would like to respond to the RFE prior to my return to US.
Is there anyway to find out what is contained in the RFE without receiving the physical mail notice?
How much time do I have to respond to the RFE?
Thanks for any help/pointers.
