  1. Ugh....this is all so frustrating. We got a RFE for our medical and we sent it in and it was received on June 16th,2015. They said to wait 60 days before making an inquiry about them receiving it. I had made an inquiry a few weeks ago by phone about why the case was taking so long. It said they sent a response right away online, which we still have not received. I called today and was told to wait....again wait....ugh. I tried to get them send me to a tier 2 officer because tier 1 is still saying my case was received in Nebraska July 28st, 2014 and is still in NE, which is so not the case as it is in Chicago now. They refused to send me to tier 2 saying they would have no more info than I was already given. She even tried telling me there was no way I could see that the inquiry was responded to and I said I am looking at it right now on your website for my case. If they only give 85 days to respond to an RFE and you can't even find out if they are processing it, what if you reach that 85 days and they lost it??? Has anyone called more than once in a day and got any better answers? I am scared they keep a log about how many times you call...and then say ok they are a pain...bump them back some more lol. My senator has made 2 inquires since the case has been in Chicago and hasn't heard anything back yet.

  2. What USCIS does is very abusive!! They make errors and take much longer than the normal processing times and we are the ones paying the price. To take another medical exam because they are behind is just ridiculous.

The mentality is that it's a privilege for foreigners to become legal residents that's why do as they please. Every time I call I'm told oh in 30 days. But when 30 pass and I call I'm told 30 more days.

It's incredible that coming here legally with our k1 We are sitting here a year later without being issued a green card. Yet I know others that have come with B1/B2 visas overstay their visa, marry here and submit papers and already have their green card in 3/4 months. I just don't get it.

Not all people with a B1/B2 visa get a green card that fast. We have been waiting a year, with an interview waiver. And not all B1/B2 people come here and overstay and get married. My husband came here very legally after we were already married. A change in circumstances was our reason to adjust status. I do agree the whole system pretty much sucks right now.

  3. I made a call today to the USCIS to see if they had any information on the RFE I had sent in. Of course the tier 1 agent started telling me my case was in Nebraska...so I stopped her, telling her I know it's in Chicago since that is where I got the RFE from and sent it back to. So she sent me to a Tier 2. Not much more helpful. Just said they don't show the RFE as received yet and it can take up to 60 days until they process it. Granted I only sent it in a couple weeks ago, but I was hoping to get lucky. Now we are wondering if we should file for a new EAD or just hope for the best. We are right at 11 months into the whole process.

  4. We got an RFE for my husband's medical from the Chicago service center. I Fed Exed it and today it showed as attempted delivery, but no one there. Did I do the wrong thing by using Fed Ex??? It was a physical address so I thought it was ok. Freaking out because I was so excited to have things moving along and now I think I messed up!.

Nevermind, I am just too impatient. It was just delivered! :clock:

  5. I am posting here because there is no such thread in the AOS from tourist visa section and I have been following this thread. (I know I am in the wrong place...but I am in the same situation) :) We applied for AOS late July 2014. Biometrics in late August. Then after that we heard nothing for months. No change in status. We put in service requests , just to be told the standard "we are still processing". We contacted the senators office and in April they got a reply that we had a NPIW and they would be transferring our case from Nebraska to a service center. I contacted the senator again and last week they said our case was transferred to the Chicago service center as opposed to our local office in Indianapolis. I have not seen any other cases like mine from a tourist visa that got an interview waiver. Not sure if they just messed up or they have changed the process since they are so backlogged.
