I have a second question:
Now that the NVC procedure has changed, do you need to send the OAS files and the IV files together?
-
I am looking through the list of supporting documents and I have a question.
Do you know what is the difference between an IRS tax transcript and a Federal Income Tax Return?
I thought both referred to the form 1040 so it don't understand why both are listed... -
Hello everyone,
When I got tired of waiting I sent a letter to my state senator to request their help to shorten the processing time as much as possible. There were special online forms that I could print and mail to both senators so it seems they are used to help citizens with immigration issues.
I don't know if it worked but I got my NVC case number today! (2 weeks after I sent the letter)
For those who have been waiting more than 5 months for their NOA2 there is a form on the USCIS website to complain. (I think I posted the link in this thread a while ago)
And for those who have been waiting for more than 30 days since their NOA2 without news from the NVC, there are instructions on the NOA2 form to file a complaint via email.I did both (since I'm half French I never fail to complain ) and this seemed to move things both times.
There is no guaranty any of those works of course but I feel better doing something however insignificant, don't you?

I call NVC regularly so I know they received our case on October 2nd from my phone calls but I still haven't had any mail from them.
Should I worry?Still nothing here. We are looking more and more at the possibility he would come live in Canada after all... even if it is faaaaaaar from idealI know what you mean... I moved to the US to get my dream job but I am starting to wonder if all the heart ache is worth it.

Hey everyone,
I'm just asking for confirmation: does the 5 months national goal for I-130 processing time announced on the website of USCIS only apply to the process at USCIS and not the total including NVC and Embassy?
At first I thought it was a total processing time and I didn't understand why it took 6 months to go through USCIS alone... Now I realize NVC may take 3 months starting from when the NVC case number is assigned and then 1 to 3 more months at the Embassy. This means 10 to 12 months total processing time. Is that correct?

Has anyone been able to contact NVC yet?
I have been trying to call them but the line is always occupied... -

Hi everyone!
I am an April filer too (NOA1 04/04). I just submitted a case inquiry today since the 5 month mark just passed but I got depressed when the confirmation screen said they would get back to me by the end of the month...
I was at the Nebraska Service Center but was transfered to California on August 15th. Does that transfer add any delay? I know some February filers got transfered too but couldn't find if that changed their processing time...Thanks for your replies!

The NVC asks for either a record of military service or an exemption in their list of forms.
In France, the military service is not mandatory and so in our case we don't have neither military records nor exemption papers.
Should I say that this military service record they ask for is non applicable?
I'm scared to get an RFE for a paper that does not exist...
