Ok my husband has been in the US Army for a year now. On June 1, 2011 he became a US citizen.
Today he was asked to go to JAG. when he arrived there he was told per a security clearence he HAS to bring his
Romanian passport to them so they can shred it and he HAS to renounce his Romanian
Citizenship or be kicked out of the Army. This just does not sound right to me, especially since
Immigration informed him he can keep duel citizenship.
Hes seriously upset over this as am I.
Plus he already had a security clearence before going to Basic Training. It was the intence clearence.
Anyone have any advice? Its so upsetting

Yes he was going to go into the Coast Guard, but they had issues with his Romanian diploma. The army did for a while as well but got everything fixed. He would have joined over a year ago but the army recruiter we had then told him he needed his GED. So he spent 8 months studying for that only to find out when he passed it he never needed it. lol
Medically I am still not ok.
The final diagnosis is through cat scans and an MRI, we found that during my hysterectomy they left a surgical clamp in my pelvis which has been moving around and also pinned up against my nerves, causing the severe pain in my legs. We also found that they left my right ovary. The operative report states they took out both ovaries and tubes and uterus. Well this ovary they failed to take out and did not tell me, is covered with cysts and endometriosis (sp), causing the abdominal pain. I finally found an amazing doctor who is going to remove both. I also have an awesome lawyer for after my surgery.
Hi there!!!
Glad to hear all is well. He will be through basic before you know it, but I thought he was joining the Coast Guard...? I am so behind everything as I don't log on here much at all. Also last i read you were having an awful time medically....Hope that's all sorted out too!
Take care!

Just thought I would do a quick update on how things are since Edi came here on the K1 in 2006. :)All is very well, he joined the Army and is leaving for basic training in 2 weeks. Never thought we would be apart after the immigration hell. Marriage still going strong, and still to this day will admit I would not have made it through the immigration process without VJ and the friends I made on here.
psst...had no clue where else to post this, i've been away from VJ for quite a while, at least posting a lot, and things look so different.

ah how I have missed VJ

Actually this is being moved to K-3 forum as he is a K-3 petitioner, shouldve caught it sooner and didnt, i apologize for the extra move.

Yes, the 90-120 days is ONLY with USCIS....i forgot to elaborate on that...thanks for mentioning it canadian_wife

Moved to US Embassy and Consulate Discussion so people going through interviews at current time or have already done an interview can see and advise.

Processing times always vary. Everyones case is different, and every person reviewing a petition is either more or less efficient than another. Normal processing time is 90-120 days. If you are out of the 120 days then definitely make a call to them. I mean you can call them anytime and check on it, thats your call. But normal CSC processing is 90-120 days. And per your timeline, you're only in the 60 days. So you still may have some time to wait.

I used to post in OT ALOT..however sitting in my sons pre-k class felt like i was amongst more maturity than sitting and reading in OT

Moved to National Visa Center forum

Read the guides. Its a lot better to read it on your own then have people explain it all for you.

As I have learned in the past, everyones definition of racism is different. One may think what someone says is racist, while others think its a joke or funny. Unless they come right out and say something insulting about a persons color, religion, background, etc, then who is to say anything other is racism and get them in trouble for it.

I think some of the mods do close threads or delete posts just bc they dont like what they see, it really didnt break a TOS. And yes, its super annoying when a thread is closed or a post is deleted bc someone didnt agree with the mod.
I mean, ive never seen in the TOS where its against TOS to disagree with a mod. just my 2 cents

Yes most of the work for the K-1 is during the AOS period of our horrible experience with USCIS. Its not during the approval time.
I did my research before i filed and when i saw that the K3 does take longer than the K1 i went the K1 route. Also being already married to your SO does not guarantee you a quick process.

It will go to the National Visa Center, stay there a few days to a week, if you dont end up in AR...and from there it goes to the country where your fiance will get his visa from, to prepare for the interview.
Congrats
Husband in US Army need help with something wuth JAG
