Hi,
I have a quick question, Im getting ready to file my wife's I-751, she would like to change her last name to mine and I didnt know if this could be done by changing it on the I-751 paperwork?
Unfortunately I didnt know at the time of the AOS that it could be done then. If it can't be done with this I-751 filing, when would be the next best time for the name change?
TIA

I have one other question I am hoping someone can answer for me. How does a name change work when filing for the removal of restrictions??? Can we change her last name to mine during this process.
Also, if this is done, will this create an issue for our travel plans in anyway? I.e. if you do it during this process does the extension letter have both names on it or????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

You can file 90 days prior to the conditional green card's expiration date. For you this will likely be sometime in November.
Appreciate your reply, I can definitely file as soon as I am able. My concern is that the process wont be complete by the time we leave???? What kind of time frame is involved in removal of restrictions and is there an easy way to extend the residency card or any other suggestions for my situation????
Thanks again

Hi everyone,
Im hoping you can help me with a question I have. My wife came here on a K-1, we are nearing 2 years married and her current residency card expires in Feb 2015. We are planning a trip for April/May of 2015. My question is, How soon before Feb 2015 can I file for removal of restrictions or what other options do I have so this expiration does not interfere with our planned trip? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Going from Green Card to Citizen
in US Citizenship General Discussion

Hi,
Im sure this is asked many times but my wife has a green card that she's had I think since 2013. She'd like to become a citizen and get an American passport. Will she need to give up her Mexican citizenship? Or is it possible have both? What kind of realistic timeframe do you think we are looking at?
TIA
