I was done with the interview this passed Tuesday. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about it. The IO was not so nice. I passed the civics and english. IO gave me N-652 marked with "a decision cannot yet be made" because, as he said, a few checks about me did not arrive yet. He blamed it on the holiday season. He advised me to wait for a written decision and/or oath letter to be mailed . When I pressed him about the expected time of arrival he said "might be" around January!!. I am really perplexed and skeptical.

I would hold off for a few days. There is some sort of 50% discount being worked on for the first 10,000 Lpr's naturalizing. Listen to the news from tomorrow.

It is only logical to apply as soon as possible before the USCIS gets swamped with huge volumes of new immigration petitions which could impose significant delay on all sorts of immigration implications. Good luck

In the interview letter, they asked me to provide a proof of SS registration. It is easy to get the verification letter from here: https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx.
I wrote my selective services registration number on the form, do I still have to send proof of it?

Silly question---- but was asked to bring passport, State I.d's and travel documents on the interview--but within my 3 years of marriage I haven't travelled outside of the country and I don't have a State I.D....is this ok or should I be getting a State I.D? I don't drive either. So no license as well. I'm just a stay at home mom.

i too had gaps in my tax returns. In my cover letter, I wrote the following:
"Attached are official IRS transcripts for tax years ending, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013."
That's all I wrote and it was fine. No need to explain the gap. Best of luck.

Same here, I never got a notification for going to In line, but did get notifications once I got scheduled for the Interview.

What does the yellow letter say? Are you guys able to read any update on the USCIS website?
Strangely, my online status is still on "initial review."
The yellow letter requests: all passports, a state issued ID, and certified court depositions to be brought to the interview. I had a few traffic citations (no DUI, personal injuries or other major violations) and I answered "yes" to the question #23 in the form N-400. There is a foot note in the yellow letter reiterating what has been written in the instructions for N-400 about the documentation of traffic violations. Although I already submitted my driving record abstract, probably I will get those court dispositions with me to the interview to be on the safe side.
