  1. I would like to express my gratitude to all members of VJ community. You've helped me a lot in processing my Green card. I am a silent observer. I read/ researched the topics related to my case ever so often while I'm processing my AOS and a great help indeed! I think I owe those who are also pursuing their american dream a little contribution on my part as a VJ member.

    Here is my interview experience:

    April 29, 2015

Me and my husband arrive at USCIS around 9:45am. Waited for about an hour. The interviewer was very nice and kind. She let us stand and oath. After that we've seated and she told us to bring out all the IDs, travel documents, original certificates. She checked if it matches all the documents that we have submitted from the original one. Then, satisfied, she ask us some questions:

    A) if US citizenship based on marriage?

    B) If I am H1B visa and if current. ( I came here on H1B )

    C) How we met?

    D) then she asked for joint accounts / joint names - documents

    - I gave her some that I wasn't able to submit ( previously ) like our recent ITR, utility bills, car registrations, titles and more pictures.

    E) asked about my parents coming over to our wedding and if they stayed for how long?

    G) when and where was our recent vacation?

Interview went well. We almost chorus out answers. After the interview she gave us a paper with a checked-mark on background check pending. she explained that they are still waiting for my background check. Then my husband asked if there's any problem? And she said that all documents were complete except for background check.

We went home and I check my status on line, it was still the same. Then the following day I checked again and it says - card under production. I was so happy. Then after a few hours the I-90 was approved. Then welcome letter was sent. I thought I will be in this black hole ( background check ) for a long period of time but thank God that long wait didn't materialize.

    I filed : January 21, 2015

    EAD received March 19, 2015

    Interviewed : April 29, 2015

    Approved : April 30, 2015

    - Card under production

    - Welcome letter was sent.

Thank you to all VJ members. Without you I wouldn't be able to process my papers smoothly. Your shared knowledge was very helpful. Thank you and more power! God bless!

  2. Hi,

Blessed day! I need advice and will greatly appreciate it.

My husband is processing his naturalization through 5 yr. he was here since he's 13 yrs old.. He applied last May, got the yellow paper June 9 and now He is waiting for his schedule of interview. I was a H1b holder and my I-94 will expire on dec 2014 but since I resigned ( because I moved to CA to be with my husband) to my previous employer that means I don't hold the H1b visa anymore unless I'll ask some hospital to sponsor me on my remaining 3 more yrs H1b visa.

As I've said, my husband is processing his naturalization, but during that time he got married to me on June. Will that affect his naturalization? And how will they deal with my status? Do I need to look for employer to sponsor my H1b then later on when he become citizen apply for Adjustment of status? Or just wait for his naturalization? I'm confused and afraid to get deported. I didn't mean to be in this mess. Kindly please advice.

By the way, one more thing. My husband forgot the exact date of his divorce. I think he typed in wrong date on his n400 application. He Knows the month and year but got confused on what day. Will this also affect his naturalization.
