  1. I am going to try and walk in tomorrow, they said that walking in was doable. Thank you.

Yes, they likely will give you a stamp. When we had our interview, they wanted to know if we had any plans to travel in the next 30 days.

Thank you! I am going to try I thought I might need to obtain a doctors note or something but if not then hopefully they will stamp it.

  2. Hello Everyone,

First of all this forum has been AMAZING. Thank you in advance for all of the help.

I had my interview today and was approved. The IO told me if I need to travel I can make an appointment for a stamp.

My Grandmother is 94 and I gave birth to the first great grandson. It is her birthday this weekend and she is not in great health, we really want her to meet my son (he is 3 months old).

Is this reason enough to get a passport stamp?

I also still have my AP.. is that still usable?

I have the opportunity to travel home this weekend as my husband is off of work for a week so really this is the only time. We would travel by car and cross the border that way. My son already has passport.

    Thank you all so much.

  3. Thank you everyone!

I cannot believe it is over. Just need to have it in hand and then the world will feel right again. Crazy how this process totally takes over our lives.

The appointment was at 9:15 and I woke up around 6:00 and went over everything again. I had an entire binder zipped full of information/evidence/copies of everything.

We arrived at 8:55 and were seated in the waiting area by 9. I was so tense for no reason, it was actually nice having the baby there as he seemed to lighten the mood for everyone in the waiting room!

We were called in at 9:30 by one officer, and walked back and there were two officers in there, one observed. They were both very nice. My husband held the baby and I dealt with our evidence. They swore us in and then asked to see my passport, my sons original birth certificate. They went over the basic information such as where we were born and our names etc. They then asked if I had any additional information, but that it wasn't really needed as the package was complete. She took a recent paystub of my husbands and saw we were over the necessary income for a family of three and photocopied it.

She asked how long we had known eachother, how long we had been dating before we got married (6 years), and whether I intended to stay when I came into the USA last (I did not). She then told us we were approved! I said "They make this sound way scarier on the internet!" they both smiled and said we had good proof, and obviously our 3 month old was there too lol.

I am still waiting for a text or email update about I-130 and I-485 forms but maybe they do not do that! Anyways I am very happy and relieved that it is over, at least for now :)

  4. Ahh! I hate posting from my phone. I tried to attach a picture of my binder all done up. I have a zip up binder with all of my documents in sheet protectors. I typed up a list and will post it from computer.. Basically the originals of everything submitted in our application. I have pictures from 2007 on, our lease, car insurance, health insurance from my husbands work listing our son and I as dependents, wedding cards, wedding book, photo album from wedding by photographer with all of our family pictures in it (I didn't want a photographer but happy for the book now). Both our credit cards with same account number, our check book with both names on the checks and address, gas bill,

My husbands pay stubs from the past two months, a letter from his work stating they are matching his 401k contributions and he is now in profit sharing (think that shows he is a long term employee?) a letter from when he was hired (last January) showing his hourly wage and yearly salary.

Letters addressed to both of us at current address.. Cards from the baby shower his mom threw for me.. I have a lot

Of evidence and am still so nervous I cannot sit still!

  5. We just found out our baby sitter cancelled for tomorrow. Our son is 3 months and it looks like he will be coming to the interview tomorrow! We just moved here and have no family near our anyrhing. Interview is early and son normally sleeps at that time so hopefully he will sleep in his seat and the io won't be too annoyed with us....Will keep everyone posted on how that goes!!

Good luck in your interview today! Will be thinking of you!!

  6. Canuck wait a sec...they texted/emailed you with interview date?

I haven't gotten any electronic notifications since the first noa

I made an account online when I got my first noa and have been updated via email. The texts just say to log on and check account. They sent an email that says they mailed a notice for an interview that will take place November 20th. It does not say the time but I received the letter last week with the time. I will update my timeline when I can get on a computer but I do not have the patience to do it on phone, it is all in my signature as well! :) hope you hear something soon!!

  7. Congrats!

Does your i485 case status online show the interview date or simple showing "Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview." ?

    Thanks for your reply!

It says: On October *** 2014, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for November *** 2014. Please follow the instructions on the notice.
