Did you do the fingerprints?
My NSW check was for $75.You definitely do NOT need a fingerprint check but you may wish to email the consulate and query if
indeed they now require a Queensland / NSW check as well as the Federal Police one.
-
"I obtained a National Police check from NSW and it was rejected, I was informed I needed the AFP one only.No fingerprints OK.Took less than 2 weeks and you can do it all online."
UPDATE. just received my interview appointment and now they are requesting I bring along a Queensland NSW police check which is funny as that was what i originally mailed to them but was informed the I needed a Federal National Police check instead which I now have but have to say it really is confusing.
Anyone in doubt probably should email the consul for clarification.

The thing to watch out for is you as a dual citizen living outside the US for 5 years brings up the question of "domicile". You must provide proof that you intended to return to the US with say ...US bank account, US address, car registration and or anything that shows that your permanent domicile is in the United States and your stay outside the country was only temporary.Good luck!

I am filling out my I-864 for the NVC however my 2014 financial details have changed substantially since submitting my original !-864 based on 2013 income figures - Do I submit the new I -864 form 2014 with an explanation?
Thanks.

Thanks folks excellent replies and I really appreciate them.

This was another site re the CR/1 applications..."Photocopies of all the documents in the package. Yes, they make you send a copy of everything because I guess the $400 fee they charge isn't enough to pay for their own copy machine."So maybe this is the correct answer unless someone knows differently.

Thanks folks for your replies however I am still very confused because the questions I find are very ambiguous,.even tax forms are easier to figure out.
M76, as to the marriage certificates etc- I do understand that one -so yes i have sent them another certificate, my question is though how many copies on each package do they want?
As you see from my original question above...
" Additionally at the bottom of both sheets is a space to check "photo copies" so in effect that would make 4 copies of every document and supporting letter etc.?"
Hope someone can give me a definitive answer on this.

I am filling out the almost identical Document Cover Sheets (Feb. 19, 2015) for the I-864 and the IV package and I have to say I really don't understand them.It appears that almost everything needed for the I - 864 is also required in the IV Package. This would mean that you have identical information in two packages or do you use the documentation cover sheet list and break it up into only AOS file and then the Support file even though it appears to read differently.Additionally at the bottom of both sheets is a space to check "photo copies" so in effect that would make 4 copies of every document and supporting letter etc.?HELP! I know even the question is confusing.

Is there a preferred or correct way to sign visa application forms - full name or just the way you normally sign a check?

You know I thought I had read the same post or article but I couldn't find it again so it was panic city, but now it all makes sense and the policy change is the reason for the mixed messages. Thanks for post.

After reading about a dozen articles and posts on immigrant visa forums I have to say I am more confused that ever regarding this topic of "originals"On the ***removed*** forum it reads..."However for example, you have to send the "original" certificate to NVC for immigrant visa purposes."
On this visajourney site....Q. Do I have to send original documents to the NVC?A. Yes.This information can be found at the Department of State website:Appointment NVC Processing Original Document RequirementsThe applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity)."
On other other sites including DOS site it states that only at the interview is it required that the applicant provide "originals" or cerftified coopies from the issuing agency. On another U.S.Consul site I read that you only have to provide original documents to the consular interview oficer. Can anyone absolutely, positively provide me with the correct answer to this? Thanks.

And this is what I mean about funding...
experts warn."The US Department of Homeland Security, responsible for protecting the country’s borders, fighting terrorism, disaster recovery and controlling the secret service, is facing a partial shutdown if Congress can’t approve $40 billion ($A50 billion) in funding by a deadline of midnight Friday.
If the shutdown goes ahead it means around 14 per cent of the more than 240,000 essential staff would stay at home including customs and border protection staff, the coast guard, secret service and members of the Federal Emergency Management Agency."

I simply cannot understand why the NVC requires almost the entire process of visa application, including the proof of domicile to be submitted all over again.
We received the USIC OK on domicile and have the case number etc.so why do we have to go through the whole process again with the NVA ?
If the USCIS just forwarded the applications etc. already in their files to the NVA it, IMO would cut the processing time for visas in half.
The immigration services are seriously backed up for not just months but years and they are hurting for funds, so this would not only save a lot of confusion and wasted time on the part of the applicants but save the taxpayers a heck of lot of money, and isn't that what the government is trying to do?
Just saying - that's all!
-
Geez 12 1/2 months? My only salvation would be if my previous green card might speed the process as I know they sure as heck will check it.
-
Yeah I figured as much. I do have a lead on someone who can research the files for a fee. Anyway thanks a lot for your responses..
Anyone know how long aprox. it is currently taking to receive the OK for the I-130?.
-
Not sure exactly where to post this as it is very complicated.Had a green card and lived in the US for 29 years. We have lived overseas for a number of years (a family thing) and I have lost resident status, so now my American citizen wife has to apply for a I-130. But the problem is I don't have a copy of my divorce papers from Ciudad Juarez in 1969. And although I have written to the Ciudad Civil Registry there it's been about 4 1/2 months and still heard nothing. My question is - If I have already submitted that decree with my original application and it was approved and a green card issued, can or will they check my file and give me a pass on obtaining another one? Incidentally I have ,my passport stamped from El Paso in to Mexico and back the same day which at the very least it proves that I went there for only one day which is a long way from our home in CT.

You don't need fingerprints and you only need the Australian Federal Police Certificate from Canberra and you can do it online.
