  1. My husband received his K-1 visa and we were married March 1 of this year. We submitted the I-485 paperwork for his adjustment of status, as well as I-765 application for employment authorization, and I-512 for advance parole.

The Employment and Advance Parole were approved, with an expiration in June, 2016.

We are preparing to travel to visit his family in Guatemala and Belize, but before doing so, I wanted to see whether anyone who'd previously had a K-1 visa has travelled out of country and returned on advance parole. What should we expect? We'll take originals and copies of everything (advance parole approval, passports, marriage license, etc), but I'm more just anxious about what to expect coming back.

Any advice or things I should consider?

    Thanks to all!

  2. My I-129F paperwork was processed through the California Service center.

I received my NOA2 dated 10/17. It indicates that the petition was approved, and routed to "the listed consulate," though no specific consulate is listed.

Do all I-129F's get routed to the NVC prior to being forwarded to the embassy? Or is it ever sent directly to the embassy? I'm not sure whether I should contact the NVC or Guatemalan embassy to determine whether the packet has been received, and I'm afraid that I'm going on 3 weeks without any further information.

    Am I missing something obvious?

  3. I'm getting ready to send off my I-129F packet of paperwork. I've collected everything on the checklist, and have quadruple checked everything.

I have two predominant questions before I send:

    1) I read online that including additional evidence of your ongoing relationship - specifically, email correspondence or letters - is helpful even if it's not required because it gives the embassy more time and content to become familiar with your case. Have others done this? If so, has it been beneficial?

    2) If it is something to include, most of our correspondence is in Spanish since he is from Guatemala. I read that this needs to be translated to English and there needs to be a statement certifying that the individual translating is capable & believes it to be accurate, etc. Am I allowed to translate and include a statement certifying it's correct? Or does it need to be a 3rd party?

Thanks to anyone who can help!
