We haven't heard anything and we are in LA as well! However, we filed end of September and did biometrics early October. Our estimated completion is August 2020 though - strange since you filed earlier! Maybe a different field office.

I filed and did biometrics at the same time as you, probably a few days later. My est.completion shows September 2020. I think it's accurate!!! We're close

  2. Since you got your name back that's your name plus you probably want maiden name on your new green card. I filed with my maiden name and included court paper reflecting name change. I forgot to change name back after divorce and waited till I did name change to file I-751. I suggest adding a line in cover letter noting name change, to make sure new card will have the maiden name..

    Thank you

  3. Hi guys,

This Tuesday we've passed our interview. We went to San Diego even though we opted for Santa Ana. I don't know why they sent us to San Diego, maybe because it was closer to us than the Santa Ana office. Anyway, the officer was very nice and professional, he tried to joke a little but it didn't help us, we were too nervous :clock: . The interview lasted for abt 10 minutes, he asked us to show him our proof of relationship: photos, lease contract, insurance etc. After that, he asked us to tell him our story, he asked if we plan to have children, he asked if he met my family. My husband talked most of the time. He asked me about having children and then he gave us the approval.

I applied for the travel document a month ago and i got it just now so I wanted to ask him if there will be any problem when I'll return because we will be traveling to Europe for Christmas. He asked for my passport and told me to wait outside a little bit. So he wrote something in my passport to help with the return, probably to show that my status adjustment was approved.

That's all! I hope you will all have a Merry Christmas. I'm going back home with my husband next week. (L):dancing:

One question for those who already have received the green card. Did you have to confirm that you received the green card in any way?

  4. Correct you need ur social to get a Drivers license. When you do get one, it will have the same expiration date as ur EAD Since we are in the process of getting a green card.

At least that's how it was for me. My previous EAD and drivers license both expired 10/02 same day my new EAD was approve. Had to wait 8 days till my EAD arrived to be able to go renew it at the DMV. Once renewed I received a temporary drivers license paper to carry with me. It's been over two weeks and still have not received my DL in the mail :(

My new EAD expires in a year 10-02-15 there for when I get my license it will also have that expiration date.

The guy who helped me at the DMV told me that once I get my Green Card I can just bring it in and they will update it in their system and expand my DL to a 5 yr like most are.

    Thank you!

  5. I got a bit of good news today. I had requested my case to be expedited and had faced proof that was requested.

I finally heard back today with a email that said the fallowing,

"The status of this service request is:

Documentation submitted meets the requirements for expedite processing of your application/petition. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly."

Time is against me right now. My EAD expires tomorrow so hopefully the decision is done soon.

    Fingers crossed

    Fingers crossed :)

  6. According to this website the current processing time for I-765 is on files from July 21.

I would really hope so because mine is from July 30. I'm so anxious to hear some kinda news on my case that has been stuck on "initial review" :(

I m July 27 th, so I think we re on the same boat! I just called them now about the survey and they said they do call for surveys but they did told me to make sure I don't give any kind of personal information, because they don't ask for it.

  7. This is the first that I've heard about getting a call to see how the device was.

Normally they have you fill out a comment card after they finish with ur finger prints.

This is really weird, did they ask you any personal questions ?

No, she didn't ask any personal question. She just wanted to know what I applied for, how many times I called the 1-800 number, if I found all the info that I needed on the website and if I was satisfied with their answers. But... This person could barely speak English. Is that normal? I had to ask her question again so I can make sure I got it right. I think I ll call them and ask if they called or not.
