  1. They are willing to rehire me as soon as I get the new doc. So I'm getting terminated on Monday but if I get it on Wednesday- Friday they'll start the rehire process. Idk how long that will take but it's something. I think it helped that my mid and upper management went to bat for me.

It's still dumb though cause I'll lose my age with the company if I get terminated. It's not leave. I'll get properly fired

That sucks but at least you won't be unemployed and after you receive your GC you will never have to worry about this again. What a bunch of BS, seriously. I just checked my timeline to see how long it took them to ship the physical card after the "card in production" email and it took them 4 business days and the card got delivered the next day. So, the approval email was on Sept 19 (Friday), card got shipped Sept 25 (Thursday), delivery was Sept 26 (Friday). If yours follow the same pattern, they should ship it on Friday and since it is USPS, delivery should be either Saturday or Monday.

  2. Next infopass would not be open until Nov. 18th.. I'm kinda screwed either way. Thinking back, I have a lot of questions but I was super close to crying and I didn't want to make a Fool of myself in front of strangers so I just left.

I think your best bet at this point is trying to convince your employer somehow because it looks like immigration won't move fast enough for you. You have the EAD approval email right? Is there anyone in your work, your boss, his boss, just someone high up that can argue your case for the HR? If they absolutely can't keep you, you might be able to convince them to give you the few days as an unpaid leave and "rehire" you as soon as your physical EAD arrives. I would even try contacting the CEO and plead your case because you do have the approval and your card is probably in transit and should be longer than a few days now. What can you lose right?

  3. Hello August Filers,

I am trying to calculate when to expect EAD approval. Our timeline is all over the place, so I thought maybe someone had some thoughts.

    7/17 mailed AOS/EAD/AP

7/22 NOA for EAD & AOS no AP NOA, stated AOS would be transferred to NSC. Now USCIS shows received date at NSC of 8/4.

rejected AP because fee was not included?? Resubmitted with AOS NOA and received an NOA for AP of 8/19 on USCIS status page

    8/29 biometrics complete

So when comparing to others timelines should I use the AP NOA date since the EAD/AP card is issued together or can I assume the EAD NOA date which puts us expecting it any day? We have not received any notices of interview scheduling. Any thoughts are appreciated.

The date you need to take into account is the biometrics date. From looking at other threads, EAD/AP approval usually happens within 4-6 weeks of biometrics appointment. So even if they take the maximum 6 weeks, you should get your card first or second week of October.

  4. So then my question is, if you're at this stage, does this mean that you will get zero RFEs? Has it been looked at and now it's moving forward to interview?

From what I understand, you can still get RFEs until the interview gets scheduled. There are people who stayed in this stage for 2-3 months waiting for the interview scheduling and got RFEs during that time. And then there are the people who got the interview letter two weeks after this notice, so you never know. I am personally rooting for the second scenario! :content:

  5. It's been over a week since my bio appt and there has been no movement in the force :(

It might just be that your local office is a little busier than mine. From the older threads, I saw that timing varies a lot so hang in there! Here is the complete message I got:

Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

  6. To the ones who already had their biometrics appointment, did you guys get any updates on your case? I created an account on USCIS website to store my receipt numbers and track my case, it shows that my case hasn't been touched since august 8th ( when my biometrics letter was issued). Being optimistic as I am, I expected some movement right after biometrics appointment :goofy:

I got an update on the I-485. It switched from acceptance to interview/testing about a week after I completed the biometrics. Don't know if they are related or if it was a coincidence, though...

  7. Strange, I did a walk-in biometrics at Alexandria, VA with zero questions asked back in June.

I went there at 3PM on a Thursday, the whole center was completely empty, just me and one other family for biometrics.

IMO it doesn't speed the EAD in any way, EAD takes at least 60-65 days unless you formally get it expedited.

However getting an early biometrics might help you in the interview scheduling queue if your case has been marked for an interview.

Good to know. I am just anxious to get me EAD and get a job!

I think it might have been the fact that it was just a busy day today and I was there around noon. There were at least 50-60 people waiting so I understand where they are coming from. The lady at the desk told me late afternoons are less busy if I wanted to try back another day but no guarantees. I think the fact that you went at 3 might have helped you. I might try again Friday afternoon.

  8. Are you asking about my NOA's??

I got my NOA's 4 days after we sent out our packet. And i just got my appointment letter for biometrics after 2 weeks.

Did you walk-in without your Appointment Letter???

No, of course I didn't walk in without a letter! I have been dealing with US immigration for 15 years now I am not clueless, LOL. :P

I have the letter but my appointment is for 8/28.
