Op asked what she could do to help her in-laws to get a visa....the answer to that is "nothing"!
Then you went on to say they must show there ties to there country and things that they will return, so thats why i said what i said
-
Thank you
Dont listen to these people that come on here and tell you that you got to show a lot of ties to the country, i ask a question for a friend a month ago about visiting visa ,and i got so many negative response about there type of job , and that they dont have enough money and all kind of ####### , and they dont have any ties to country, well my friends went to there interview and got approve with no problem, and all they have in there name is a car, not only that, there 23 year old daughter went after them and got approve to she dont own anything, and only been working at her job for one year answering telephones , and my friends are from jamaica, so if you have the money to spend all you can do is give it a try, nobody knows what going to happen.

If Jamaica is, according to one poster, such a low fraud country, why doesn't Jamaica have the VWP?
Let's look at the math:
4 visa applications = $160 x 4 = $640
4 RT airline tickets = $1600
food, entertainment for how long? say, a month = $1500 at a minimum
that's nearly $4000....so...how much does this family have in the bank?
If only $4000 then this trip would wipe out their savings.,..and one would have to wonder why they would do such a thing..
If they are also claiming to wish to go to Disneyland, well, imagine the cost....$200-$250 a day per person, not counting food...another 2-3 grand...that totals $6000-7000.
Once again, how much in their bank account?
And no friend will be shelling out thousands themselves (for airfares and Disney passes) just to have some friends visit, without other reasons...not realistic.
These are just simple facts .... so unless this family can credibly demonstrate that they have roughly twice this sum in the bank, their chances of approval will drop swiftly.
Sorry took so long to respond back, family emergency , all i did was ask a question for a friend, can understand the feed back of people saying they don't have enough ties to country but what i cant understand is the feed back about there finance . Let me inlight you , they don't need anyone to shelling out money to them for anything, if they get denied i can promise you it want be about there finance when the embassy see there bank account they will see they arent lacking when it comes to money, and who the hell said something about disneyland that's no were in my post and if they wanted to go to disney world they can afford it without anyone help.

The cost of the application is not that much, obviously time and travelling involved as well.
Ok thank you
-
If they do not apply then no chance.
Obviously something else going on, I do not have the application in front of me.
No downside in having a go.
I told my friend i think she and her family need more ties to there country, lots of money to be wasting , but like you say you can only try

Perhaps those jobs pay better in Jamaica than they do in the US?
Somebody with that profile in the US wanting a holiday in Jamaica I thought would be unusual.
So Boiler, you saying there chances are slim to none

Asking for a friend in jamaica, what are her chances at getting a visiting visa for her and her husband, and youngest daughter and oldest daughter, the wife is 45 and works at hotel as house keeper for 8 years, husband is 50 self employed sales vegetables, and taxi operator youngest daughter 14 and in school, oldest daughter 21 has been on her job for almost 2 years, have no other ties but family and cars, what are there chances is there any thing they can do to make there case stronger

You count any children you have, no matter where they live, if you support them or not, or if you claim them on taxes or not. At least for the I-864 those are the rules, period.
so on i134 you dont have to claim your dependents
-
Hmm interesting. Thx for the info. So my wife should count him, because she claimed him in the last 2012 tax return.
i wish i knew , i dont want to be the one to tell you the wrong thing. it bug me all last night so i didnt even go to work today went to attorney office to get answers and thats what i was told by them , and then comfirmd by two more attorney, so i dont know if she have to claim him since she didnt use him in her 2013 and look like 2014 taxes
-
We have a lawyer and I can't confirm if he got the same NOA1 letter or not, but my husband - the petitioner, got a NOA1 sent to him directly. Hope this helps!
i had a attorney and i receive a copy of noa1 and they didnt get one.
-
Hmmm my wife is on the same boat. She has 16 years old son who is living with his father in the States from last september. On 2012 tax report she counted him as a dependent, but this year she will not, because he is not living with us.
I understand I864 instructions as that you have to count any unmarried children who are under 21,even if you don't have legal custody.
PS. Sorry for my grammar mistakes:)
well i just left attorney i ask them about the what the instructions say on the i864, they told me nope you are not going to count him as a dependent because you didnt claim him on tax return and he do not live with you, this is the same attorney who did my k1visa and i did not claim my kids on the i134, and when my ex went to the k1 interview officer ask her my kids name and age and the officer still approve it, and at that time i had two kids under 21, so im going to roll with the attorney i didnt get a rfe last time , and hoping not to get one this time. and i even called two more attorneys to get it verified and both said the same thing.

HI, very confused on how to count house hold, i have a child that is 14 and stays with his mom i support him but i am not on child support and i did not count him on taxes as a dependent so do i have to include him on my i864,? i did a k1 visa while back and i never included him on the i134 as a dependent because i didnt claim him on my taxes, and it was approve with no problem. i ask a couple of attorneys and they say as long as im not on a court order to pay child support, or claim him on my taxes i dont have to list him on my i864 as a dependent, but after searching on visa journey, some people say no and some say yes, so can someone please help me with this.

Going to file i130 in oct, 2014 poverty guideline 125% which makes it (24,737) for a house hold of 3 , in 2012 income was , 24,298, in 2013, income was , 25,587, in 2014, income will be almost 27,000, will I be denied because my 2012 taxes was 439.00 dollars short,of the guidelines.

Thank you, this just what I needed to know, I spoke with a lawyer and he going to tell me all I need to send in with the i130 app to prove a bona fide marriage was the marriage certificate , and I said to him you not going to send in no phone logs or anything he said no , the marriage certificate exceeds all other proof, and my wife can send logs and whatever other proof at nvc stage or take to interview, and I knew right then I was better off to do the process my self.Don't worry about not being able to put her name on anything here in the US, USCIS does not require nor do they expect a couple living apart in separate countries to have joint bills, accounts, property, etc. Much has been said about affidavits in this thread, forget them, they carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file. Focus on evidence of time spent together in-person, that is your strongest evidence. Go ahead and send some of your phone, Skype, and text records with the I-130. Also include photos with the I-130.
Don't wait for the interview or even the NVC phase to submit evidence of your relationship; more often than not, a CO will not request to see it and will immediately pass it back without so much as a glance if an interviewee passes to the CO during the interview.
-

I have my bank statement to prove I support her, she has one of my bank cards in Jamaica, can you please tell me what all I would need for evidence at uscis stage, I spoke to a lawyer but for some reason im not trusting them , they said all I need is marriage certificate, and everything else I can submit at interview, but I don't trust that, so I will do my self with the help of visa journey familyHi fispub,
You will need more evidence as Affidavits alone is not enough. Do you have any Money Transfer
Receipts from like Western Union, Money Gram etc. Or any Joint Bank Accounts?
-
so you saying all I need is a marriage certificate and affidavits from friends and family members for uscis, and don't need anything else till next stageAffidavits from friends and family members and you still have to send a photo copy of marriage certificate.
